Glad I got that tip about the Teton Pass. We'll be coming in to Jackson from Idaho Falls and Google Earth takes us straight over the Teton Pass. So I researched out an alternate route from Pocatello to Wayan, ID that takes us along the Snake River up to Jackson...much less of a climb. That said, you mention you're heading up to Yellowstone from here. Won't you have to do the Teton Pass anyway, or are ya gonna take the same detour?
We hiked that same place summer 2020 after we left Yellowstone and I fell in love with those mountains! We started out in Seeley Lake outside Missoula this summer, but since this September, we’ve been in Felt, Idaho just down the highway from Tetonia-Driggs-Victor, and I can look out the front and see the most beautiful view of those peaks! We’re leaving here in a couple of weeks to head to Arizona (and I can’t wait to see it for the first time!) for the winter but I love Idaho so much, we may return next summer. DH had to coat the whole roof and do some seals maintenance on our roof before we left Georgia for Montana in the spring, and it was a hot, hard job. I don’t envy anyone who has to climb up there for that. Hope you guys continue to enjoy safe travels!
It’s such a beautiful area. We loved Victor, ID it was beautiful! We want to see more of Idaho. Northern AZ is beautiful! That’s where we’re from. And yes, roof maintenance is awful!
I love Teton pass, but not in an RV for any reason! My oldest has had a stuffed moose for years, and we finally got to show her a moose at Grand Teton a couple years back.
I went snowmobiling in the foothills of the Grand Tetons years ago while on a two week business trip for a former employer. Beautiful country! God is an amazing artist!
Hey!! You will LOVE it there. You can get those at any sports/outdoor store. They are camelbaks for kids. I think we got ours at Dick’s Sporting Goods. But they have them on Amazon as well. I’ll link an affiliate link here so you can see what it is: amzn.to/3pShXSH
