    Someone being that weight and still that mobile is the real scary thing. I've fought people like 350... but 380 actually hunting you down? Thats a wild animal.

      A true predicament lol it's visualizing situations like these which can motivate one to train on the days we don't want to 🏆

      @@WrestlingUniversityit's dangerous to upper body grappling and handfighting against someone that big. Find some alternative to take him down

      @MaxiFlanagan 17 днів тому +1

      Other than size (his 300lb muscular 6ft5 physique) do you think he's skilled/experienced in grappling or wrestling I mean he was part of the special forces in Australia who have supposedly elite unarmed combat usually more so than the Navy seals so do you think he has ever grappled imagine he trains grappling 😐

      @Thecelestial1 17 днів тому

      @@MaxiFlanagan If its true, then yes he probably is well trained. Not so sure how much hand to hand spec ops is trained in, but it wouldn't really take much to make him deadly.

    Yes I would LOVE to see you actually take him down. Your strategy might work 1% of the time, the other 99% you die after he sprawls on you and crushes you or tosses you like a rag doll.

    I love that you doubled down and kept mentioning Tom Haviland haha. Good way to get the click but also 100% top notch info and content.
    I was watching a string of Japanese MMA videos and one of them said presenter vs SHAQ. And I realized they were explaining what they would do vs someone like Shaq. At least the video you make it clear hypothetically what you’d do to Tom Haviland, not actually having him there to try it on.
    This is great! I was wondering what other similar techniques you’d try on a big guy to get the take down or back

    In this hypothetical if you are you taking old mate down on concrete would you still go knee to the ground like that? How do you adjust your shots for a hard surface? Fun video

    • @curtisjackson5793

      I think that if you lead with a rear overhand just to distract him, you can buy a lot of time to hook around his posterior or calf and then slide down safely to your elbow and knee. Once you're down, though, you'll have to explode to the outside, otherwise he'll be able to limp-leg out of your lead hand hook, like shown.

    I thought you would go for a leg lock, too against someone that big once they are down like that… Unless he knows BJJ or catch wrestling, which is unlikely because he doesn’t need to know them..

    I'm 18 I was playing tackle with my friends they are 18-19, No imagine playing tackle against guys that weigh 280 pounds and you just way 155 pounds now I'm quite athletic so I was able to still tackle them which is crazy for my size, That shows how strong I am but I'm still training, Btw I've been training seriously for 11 months, Maybe it's my genetics I believe I can be 180 pounds or even 200 pounds in the future naturally

  • @Korn-fu6lf

    Fujita (250lb Japanese Greco champion) vs Bob Sapp (6'5 380lbs) is a good fight where Fujita took Sapp down and beat him through brutal soccer kicks.
    Note: this fight was before 2007, a time where Bob Sapp was fighting in Pride and had an impressive 9-2 record in MMA. He even beat Ernesto Hoost twice in kickboxing which is crazy. After 2007, he left for other smaller MMA organisations and started taking dives and losing fights on purpose. Cro Cop said that Sapp was taking dives against no name tomato cans, who Sapp could easily defeat. So don't think Sapp was some can.

    • @Korn-fu6lf
      @Korn-fu6lf 2 місяці тому

      Nogueira vs Sapp is also a good big guy vs small guy fight where small guy won with the help of grappling. Nogueira got smashed and ragdolled before he submitted Sapp.
      Another one is Kevin Randleman (~200 to 220lbs division 1 wrestler and ufc champ) vs Dan Bobish (~310 to 330lbs Division 3 wrestling champ) which involves Randleman taking Bobish down.
      Tank Abbott (265lbs) vs Tom Varelans (330lbs) as well, but Tank was pretty massive and crazy strong himself and could probably bench press just as much asTom Haviland himself (there is a video of both Tom Haviland and Tank Abbott bench pressing 600lbs on youtube; Tank does it with bad form tho) despite not even being a powerlifter or strongman.

  • @rolandrush5172
    @rolandrush5172 3 місяці тому +3

    Haviland could just not move and you would just be hugging his ankle. lol
    If a guy that big and strong grabs any part of you, it’s over. And like you said there is no running from this guy. You are basically fighting a gorilla and I don’t think grappling will have much effect..
    Punches probably won’t be able to do anything.
    If you are over 200lb and have a few years training in kicks, you might be able to make him uncomfortable… but I feel like any unarmed combat with him is horrifying.
    He is also a genuine soldier, pretty sure special forces, so dude know how to fight, and if he is coming for you, will probably be tacted out.
    Some people are just meant to be unbothered like a wild animal.

    you can't pin down a 7-inch height advantage and a bunch of extra weight on you with bjj? do you know why bjj was invented in the first place?

    • @paulwilliams667
      @paulwilliams667 2 дні тому

      No, you absolutely cannot.
      I don’t think you comprehend just how much more powerful guys like that are than normies. Armbar that guy and he will pick you up and throw you like a fucking baseball. Leglock? Good luck not having your face smashed in by his other leg or hands. The reach and power alone make it near impossible. Put 380 pounds on your chest then imagine the weight is alive, and trying to kill you.
      You have ONE option. Run and pray to god you’re faster than him.

    Great info on how to take down significantly larger opponents, but I think it kinda misses the point.
    There’s exactly ONE option. Run away and pray to god you’re faster. No amount of bjj skill will save you from that kind of weight/ strength/ athleticism. Even if you hurt him, he’d kill you. I don’t think that’s a trade worth making.
