- Unboxing the Buck 110 and 112 but with Drop Points instead of the classic Clip Points. Still with the classic 420HC Boss Heat Treated stainless steel, brass bolsters and the Crelicam Ebony Wood.
I have a 45 year old original 110 but recently bought a new drop point and new clip point. Both are great, not a bad thing about either one, I carry them alternately.
@ricardocastillo5485 Nice!! I also have both the Drop and Clip point 110 and 112. Thanks for checking the video out!!!
All the black goop in and on the knife is polishing compound from polishing the brass. Its probably in the pivot. I want a Buck 110 and 112 so bad. One of these days hopefully. Great unboxing video
Yea I figured it was polishing compound. They still could clean them out better. I know they couldn't get it all but dang atleast give it a good shake. The Buck 110 and 112 a great knives. I have several variations of each now. Thanks for checking the video out!!
Nice collection! Thanks for sharing it with us! I love the Buck 112 slim select!
I kinda like the size off the 112 and really digging the 112 drop point. Definitely need to even the number of my 112's and 110's out. Thanks for checking the video out!!!
Two beautiful editions to that growing edc collection !!
I like the drop points
I like that 112 with a drop point. I have a 110 l bought new for $27 in 1974. Carried it for years but now that l look back the 112 would have been a better choice. But of course being young at the time, l couldn't be the guy with the small one.
In high school in the 80s we all had 110's and actually carried them on our belts in school. Let a kid try that today. Ive grown to really like the size of the 112 especially with the drop point. Thanks for checking the video out!!!
That's an awesome Buck collection, Jack. I'm really liking that new 112. I've never owned a Buck before, but I'm thinking I might hafta remedy that. Thanks for sharing!
I thought I commented on this but guess not. I've been carrying the 112 and really like it. Thanks for checking the video out,
I may have to order one.
Nice Bucks! I definitely need to get myself a 110 with the drop point. I am like you, I prefer the drop point to the clip point.
The drop point definitely has a more robust tip on it. Thanks for checking the video out!!!
Just ordered a 112 ,think first thing I will do when I get it is a very good clean
Nice!!! Yea it seems they're full of the polishing compound they use. It doesn't affect the knife but I found it annoying they didn't get most of it out. I definitely prefer the 112 size over the 110 for edc. Thanks for checking the video out and hope you like it!!!
The Harley Davidson of knives!!
American Classic. Thanks for checking the video out!!!
Must have the quick draw leather Knife Shieth !
I have always wanted to try one out.
Those look great! I'd like to get a couple of drop points with the standard handles. I've got a drop point 110 and two drop point 112's, but they were special build-outs for Copper and Clad. I like them for work since the blades are so robust. I will email you a picture of them later if I think of it. Cheers, buddy!
They sound cool! I've been carrying the 112 and It does have a pretty robust tip on it. I slapped thumbstuds on it so I can open one handed. Should make a good work knife. Thanks for checking the video out!!!
I'm really liking the 112. I've carrying and using the 112, haven't carried the 110 drop point yet. Thanks for checking the video out!!!
Never bought a drop point but plan to very soon, growing on me 😉
I really like the drop points. The have a more robust tip and I worry less about breaking the tip off. I still love looks of the classic clip point tho.
All of my Buck knives have been dirty/gritty from the factory. I just spray them out with WD-40 and put a drop of oil on the pivot. They are all smoorh as butter after that but yeah, Buck should clean out the metal dust as part of QC.
I've been told it's polishing compound. All of my Case knives were the same way. It cleans out easy enough but I think they should come clean.
Try hot butter 4 lube !!! Quick Draw Shieth!
I like the drop points better
I like the drop points alot. Especially on the 112, it's a beefy, strong tip.
Hi
Thanks for your video
Is the connection of the blade to the handle in the original tank knife invalid?
Hi sorry, I'm not sure what you are asking.
@@factorsofjack
Hi
My question is, will the blades of the buck knife loosen after a while? Especially the 110 batch of LT nylon.
Thanks
@AlirezaMoeini ok. So far, none of my Bucks have loosened up. I have standard Bucks, Lt's and Slim Selects. I can imagine that the nylon ones like the LT could, over time, and hard use, but I don't really know.
@@factorsofjack
Thank you for your reply and advice my good friend.
@@AlirezaMoeini You are welcome.
I just paid $80 for the 112 nickle silver drop point; still web exclusive.
Nice!! I didn't know they had a drop point in nickel silver. I might have to try and get one. Thanks for letting me know about it.
The 110 coming out of the box did not look new to me… not just the black gunk, but the overall finish looked a little dull. Wondering if you contacted Buck with questions/concerns or not ? I’m waiting on my 112, won’t be happy if I get gunk/dull looking finish.
The finish looked shiny in person. It may have looked dull on camera. Plus it does not take very long for the brass to tarnish. The black gunk is polishing compound, and I've gotten other Buck knives the same way. I guess having the black stuff is common. They need to blow them out.
@@factorsofjack ok, cool and thanks for the info.
@@mcdob69 Hope you like your 112.
@@factorsofjack Thanks. Just received my 112, awesome looking, sturdy and very comfortable in the hand. Small amount of compound, thanks for posting your video - gave me a heads up on what I might expect. ✌️
@@mcdob69 I'm glad it's a good one. Enjoy!
You must have gotten the last 112 drop point they had in stock lol. I checked bucks site a few days ago to get one and they were out of stock.
Hopefully they are back in stock soon. I ordered it on Friday 8/26 and the box date is 8/31 and I got it on 9/5 Labor Day. It was a nice surprise didn't expect mail on a holiday. Hope you can get one soon!! I've been carrying it and I'm really liking it. Thanks for checking the video out!!!
Amazon has them
Amazon has 112's but Not the Drop Point version. Atleast I can't find them. Supposedly they are web exclusives only from the Buck website.
@@factorsofjack you are right. They are web exclusive. I checked Amazon too and they don’t have it
I really wish they’d have dropped the nail nick off the 112. It would’ve looked so much cleaner without it
I definitely agree! Really no need for it. Thanks for checking the video out!!!!
It's a working man's knife. My leather gloves catch that nail nick, and makes it easier to open. For many of us, it's about utility.
It's definitely a work horse. Thanks for checking the video out!
Where did ya get that drop point!? I have been looking for that!!
From Bucks website. They were under web specials. I just checked and they are not listed now.
Encore plein de défauts de fabrication c'est lamentable pour cette marque qui était prestigieuse
They could definitely do a better job cleaning the polishing compound out of them. Plus the prices have gone up, around 65 USD now.
