    I have a 45 year old original 110 but recently bought a new drop point and new clip point. Both are great, not a bad thing about either one, I carry them alternately.

      @ricardocastillo5485 Nice!! I also have both the Drop and Clip point 110 and 112. Thanks for checking the video out!!!

    All the black goop in and on the knife is polishing compound from polishing the brass. Its probably in the pivot. I want a Buck 110 and 112 so bad. One of these days hopefully. Great unboxing video

      Yea I figured it was polishing compound. They still could clean them out better. I know they couldn't get it all but dang atleast give it a good shake. The Buck 110 and 112 a great knives. I have several variations of each now. Thanks for checking the video out!!

      I kinda like the size off the 112 and really digging the 112 drop point. Definitely need to even the number of my 112's and 110's out. Thanks for checking the video out!!!

    I like that 112 with a drop point. I have a 110 l bought new for $27 in 1974. Carried it for years but now that l look back the 112 would have been a better choice. But of course being young at the time, l couldn't be the guy with the small one.

      In high school in the 80s we all had 110's and actually carried them on our belts in school. Let a kid try that today. Ive grown to really like the size of the 112 especially with the drop point. Thanks for checking the video out!!!

    That's an awesome Buck collection, Jack. I'm really liking that new 112. I've never owned a Buck before, but I'm thinking I might hafta remedy that. Thanks for sharing!

      Nice!!! Yea it seems they're full of the polishing compound they use. It doesn't affect the knife but I found it annoying they didn't get most of it out. I definitely prefer the 112 size over the 110 for edc. Thanks for checking the video out and hope you like it!!!

    Those look great! I'd like to get a couple of drop points with the standard handles. I've got a drop point 110 and two drop point 112's, but they were special build-outs for Copper and Clad. I like them for work since the blades are so robust. I will email you a picture of them later if I think of it. Cheers, buddy!

      They sound cool! I've been carrying the 112 and It does have a pretty robust tip on it. I slapped thumbstuds on it so I can open one handed. Should make a good work knife. Thanks for checking the video out!!!

    All of my Buck knives have been dirty/gritty from the factory. I just spray them out with WD-40 and put a drop of oil on the pivot. They are all smoorh as butter after that but yeah, Buck should clean out the metal dust as part of QC.

    • @factorsofjack
      @factorsofjack  Рік тому

      I've been told it's polishing compound. All of my Case knives were the same way. It cleans out easy enough but I think they should come clean.

    Thanks for your video
    Is the connection of the blade to the handle in the original tank knife invalid?

      Hi
      My question is, will the blades of the buck knife loosen after a while? Especially the 110 batch of LT nylon.
      Thanks

    • @factorsofjack
      @factorsofjack  7 місяців тому

      @AlirezaMoeini ok. So far, none of my Bucks have loosened up. I have standard Bucks, Lt's and Slim Selects. I can imagine that the nylon ones like the LT could, over time, and hard use, but I don't really know.

    The 110 coming out of the box did not look new to me… not just the black gunk, but the overall finish looked a little dull. Wondering if you contacted Buck with questions/concerns or not ? I’m waiting on my 112, won’t be happy if I get gunk/dull looking finish.

    • @factorsofjack
      @factorsofjack  Рік тому

      The finish looked shiny in person. It may have looked dull on camera. Plus it does not take very long for the brass to tarnish. The black gunk is polishing compound, and I've gotten other Buck knives the same way. I guess having the black stuff is common. They need to blow them out.
