Sick! Are you gonna show us a little bit of guitar from BVB5?
There was a video posted about a month or two ago of Jake and Jinxx playing a new song from BVB5 called Pulverizer. It doesn't have any vocals though
I don't think it was from BVB 5, pretty sure it was just unreleased, since Jake and Jinxx wrote it years ago.
+KnightSword 500 I'll have to look more into it but I believe it's from BVB5..
I saw a teaser but I can't wait for a full song! I watched the Pulverizer video and I was mind-blow. I don't really pay attention to single instruments because they are all harmonised and it's hard to tell, but when I watched that, they were killing it.
I just read the AP thing for "Pulverizer" and they said it has not been released yet, but it sounds like they are going to be putting it on the new album
It could be awesome that you explain the differences between active and passive pickups
Active pickups has a preamp thus it usually requires a battrey. For me personally I find it better suited for rhythm as it gives a richer distortion. Passive pickups are better for clean guitars and soloing as it gives clear solid tone.

I just notice you got the Synester Gates picking hand technique. With all fingers in while strumming and while single notes you keep all fingers in but you pinky which rest on the guitar.
haha, yeah I didn't do it on purpose, just happened to adapt the same technique i guess

My guitars have 81's in the bridge. their isn't enough of a difference between the 81 and 81x to make a noticeable difference in the mix. You have to take into account your tone comes mostly from the players hands. other major factors are quality of guitar, pickups, new strings, cables, ect. Mixing is a different animal. You have to learn to understand how everything works together. Sometimes people might think they have a badass guitar tone, but when you hear it in the mix, it sounds terrible. It takes years of practice, and trial and error. Just keep at it and you will get better and better.

What do you think of this JST plugin compared to Menace? I've used Menace for awhile and have used it on several recordings when I was too lazy to make tones on my Axe FX II. I like the sound of Guilty Pleasure, but I'm not sure if I want to spend again one a plugin that seems alike. Thoughts?
Menace is based off of a Mesa amp. Menace is more of a hot rodded Marshall. They are both great, have different sounds.

I use all sorts of different tunings, but Drop C tends to be the most common for me
I've been thinking of getting the "Guilty Pleasure" plug in. I'm not too sure though, it seems like the only good thing is putting your own inpulse response.
I put custom own hammer impulse responses on the plugin and it didn't sound as good. Im friends with Joey Sturgis and we talked about this plugin, and they spend the most time on their cab impulses in the plugin. These two cabs sound amazing. In this video I'm using the Mesa 4x12 impulse with the condenser mic.

Hello Jake! i wanted to ask why do you have tape right on your strings where the truss rod is? and can you tell me what kind of tape is it, it would be greatly appreciated.

thoose short strings on the head are ringing if you stop playing and generate noice. You can use whatever tape you have at home if the looking doesnt matter. If you have a floyd rose you will need to put them on the springs too.
