I had pictures of him on my wall in the late 50's. (I lived in the midwest then). Years later, I was a rodeo in Penrose Stadium in Colorado Springs, and ran into the Christianson Bros. Rep. He said he had had War Paint there all that summer and had just shipped him up to Canada to live out his years. He was close to 30 then. I had missed him by about a week.
I remember going to the Pendleton Round up in the 3rd grade for a field trip, I think 1998 or 1999, I remember seeing war paint in the Museum. He was such a handsome guy. I wish I could have seen him in his prime days, but it is nice to read the history about this great bucking Legend.
This is a video of War Paint bucking at the 1962 Pendleton Round-Up. My grandpa recorded it, but I don't know what day he was there. ua-cam.com/users/clipUgkxwjYOHshUPfG5rlqT4tYVlVKms_aaLsce

My father got on War Paint 13 times and rode him 3!! Amazing to see him on UA-cam. Thank you Ted
If that actually happened then you must be very old yourself. You must be pushing 80 years old.
Good awesome bronce

Do you also do videos on famous bucking bulls from the past? One bull comes to mind. Walter Alsbaugh’s bucking bull Droopy.
Beautiful

curious, was this a mare, gelding or stud horse? I'd assume he was a gelding.
Yes War Paint was a gelding, he was an amazing bucking horse..
