I like to point out Lamar's failures in the post season his first 3 years with no receivers, and that he failed in his rookie season (Allen didn't even make the playoffs in his first season, and wouldn't have made it if he played the 4 games he missed), even though his team was 4-5 and dragged them to the playoffs going 6-1. Lamar has been to the playoffs 1 time (last year) out of the last 3 years due to injury. Last year, the game was decided by 1 score, Zay fumbled at the 1 yard line on a would be touchdown, and the OC called 6 running plays the entire game (one of the teams biggest strengths is the run). Lamar played well against what was given to him. Now that his passing as improved dramatically, lets see if Nick chokes on his words.

I'm surprised I haven't heard this take but Lamar plays with a chip on his shoulder and underperforms the first time he reaches a new level because he, and maybe the media, needs him to prove himself. He reached the playoffs for the first time and lost. Won his next wild card game. Lost his divisional game against the bills and 1 year later won the divisional game and played really. First time he got to the AFC Championship - he didn't play like himself. Yeah Lamar hasn’t been awesome in the playoffs, but really all of the playoff failures came early into his career when he was still developing as a passer. He’s only played 2 playoff games in the last 4 years due to being injured for 2 years and I don’t think it’s a stretch to say he’s become a much better passer in that time frame. He played awesome against the Texans in the AFC Divisional last year and then struggled against Kansas City who had one of the best defenses in the NFL and in my opinion, best defensive coordinator in football. Let’s see what he does this year and then see if he still has the playoff ghost hanging over him. I’m not going to knock him completely off for having a bad game against the Chiefs. They locked Josh Allen up the week prior to that game (only 186 Pass yds and 1 TD). Lamar had 272 pass yds 1 TD but 2 turnovers. I’m a Chiefs fan so I watch every Chiefs game. I say we give Lamar this year and see what he can do in the playoffs.

I’ve been rocking with Patrick since he took over as starter and never really cared for Lamar, but this year I’m actually rooting for the guy. We’re going to have a segment on Ravens vs Steelers every day this week and nothing new will be said the following days, but maybe 1 total segment on some of these other games lol this show definitely has its favorites when it comes to talking about teams. As the Steeler fan, the only thing I can hope for is that the team hears all this talk about Tomlin all week, and then decides to go all out and play 110% to get Tomlin the win. the way the Steelers are currently failing to utilize Fields is exactly how Texas are currently failing to utilize Manning. both have great starters and the best backup(s) in the country. both could easily dominate the dual double threat QB system. per usual, Arthur Smith fizzles out towards the end of the season just like Kliff Kingsbury, Kliff has improved better this year. Steve Sarkisian fizzles out towards the end of the game and plays safe football which causes closer games and eventually losses.

Most of Nick's takes are absurd but I agree with him here. Yes the Ravens should smoke Pittsburgh but you have to take into account Lamar's playoff woes. This is a divisional opponent and could be more of a difficult game than people may think. I would take the points with Pittsburgh knowing that they will probably lose but I think they can cover the spread

Love Brou, but he fails to mention one major factor missing in the last Ravens game against the Steelers: no Larry Ogunjobi, the Steelers' run stopper, who was out with an injury, so there was a lot more division about guarding the run or pass, which is why Derrick Henry had over 150 yards rushing. Now with a way to neutralize that a bit with Larry O back, this will be a true test of a matchup to see if Lamar can do it again.

Apparently according to Nick If Lamar win this game it counts as 2 since the only games that matter are the games vs chiefs, Divisional game vs Steelers (apparently the bengals aren’t) and Playoffs game.

Yeah Lamar hasn’t been awesome in the playoffs, but really all of the playoff failures came early into his career when he was still developing as a passer. He’s only played 2 playoff games in the last 4 years due to being injured for 2 years and I don’t think it’s a stretch to say he’s become a much better passer in that time frame.
He played awesome against the Texans in the AFC Divisional last year and then struggled against Kansas City who had one of the best defenses in the NFL and in my opinion, best defensive coordinator in football.
Let’s see what he does this year and then see if he still has the playoff ghost hanging over him. I’m not going to knock him completely off for having a bad game against the Chiefs. They locked Josh Allen up the week prior to that game (only 186 Pass yds and 1 TD). Lamar had 272 pass yds 1 TD but 2 turnovers. I’m a Chiefs fan so I watch every Chiefs game. I say we give Lamar this year and see what he can do in the playoffs.

the way the Steelers are currently failing to utilize Fields is exactly how Texas are currently failing to utilize Manning. both have great starters and the best backup(s) in the country. both could easily dominate the dual double threat QB system. per usual, Arthur Smith fizzles out towards the end of the season just like Kliff Kingsbury, Kliff has improved better this year. Steve Sarkisian fizzles out towards the end of the game and plays safe football which causes closer games and eventually losses.

Most of Nick's takes are absurd but I agree with him here. Yes the Ravens should smoke Pittsburgh but you have to take into account Lamar's playoff woes. This is a divisional opponent and could be more of a difficult game than people may think. I would take the points with Pittsburgh knowing that they will probably lose but I think they can cover the spread

Love Brou, but he fails to mention one major factor missing in the last Ravens game against the Steelers: no Larry Ogunjobi, the Steelers' run stopper, who was out with an injury, so there was a lot more division about guarding the run or pass, which is why Derrick Henry had over 150 yards rushing. Now with a way to neutralize that a bit with Larry O back, this will be a true test of a matchup to see if Lamar can do it again.
And you fail to mention the first lost this season to the Steelers Tucker missed 2 fg and a extra point which changed the momentum of the game
