I need this song, but in reverse. My Father died very suddenly in when, I was 44 (yeah, Boomers can get behind this show just as hard.) It was Easter Sunday. When I walked back into the house from the hospital, Bio-Mom asked if I wanted to go to her BFF's for Easter Dinner. I simply stared at her, deliberately opened her (very large) bottle of wine in front of her, (we have never been subtle), and walked into the other room and shut the door. My SO was in the guest room and even she couldn't believe it. I know it's how she decided to cope, but I never forgave her for it ... not even when SHE became 'Dead Mom". The shows you love, or are in your heart forever because: theatre kid (and I got there), will change as you grow older, and actually, they will give you even more, because now you've lived it. I hated this movie and weirdly worked on part of it, I ADORE this musical and cannot wait to see it. This song is absolutely right. And every girl will BE Lydia at some point. (Just don't say his name).

This is how I feel except my dad is in prison. My parents were divorced when I was 4 and my father was abusive. I don’t miss him but I still want to know he’s there. I still want to see his face.
