y’all are annoying his actual name is spelled “betelgeuse” and there’s a couple reasons why the musical spells it out as “beetlejuice” instead:
1- he can’t actually spell out his name (betelgeuse) which is why he spells it out as “beetlejuice” in “The whole being dead thing pt. 2”
2- bc of the last reason, during the game of charades he makes the “beetle” motion and “juice” motion and that’s the only reason lydia is able to guess it
3- the producers of the show kept “beetlejuice” as the official name as a callback to the original tim burton movie who in turn, spelled it that way simply bc it was easier for ppl to pronounce and bc it was more fun that way and it fit w the tone of the movie
