@@ice6erg76 it's an everyday non stop progress. My record now is playing both murder of the universe and nonagon in one go. I made like a Playlist merging the albums and trust me altered beast IV is where you will drop its so complex and fast
@@deadpool1901 im doing better with it now, occasionally with robot stop-gamma knife i will want to cut off my hands but its gotten much easier. and i figured out how to play wah wah and invisable face correctly too
Man this is so impressive! I can play Sleep drifter, Billabong valley and a couple of others of the new album. But only Mr Beat on Nonagon infinity, the others are too quick haha. Good job
Yeah dude for sure, I'm pretty sure I met you after Hockey Dad at Mona pub. I managed to get HOckey dads drum sticks, I was outside and you came up to me and licked one of them! hahah
Dude your groove is insane. Thanks for casting a light on just how nuts cav and Eric are/were (rip Eric). The mix never fully shows off how good they are, this puts it in perspective
The drum rolls as well, I can do them for a short while but pretty quick it goes out of time, and whenever I try and move from snare to tom it just goes messy :p
Respect for how you handle that one cymbal, I'm doing the same with e-drums (splashes on edge and normal cymbals/ride on top) and it definitely takes some getting used to, can't say I could do as well with a real cymbal. I also feel your hihat clutch struggles during the solo. Rad cover dude
So THATS how they do those bass parts. I just thought they alternates the bass drum between the two or were somehow really really quick with their ankles.
Awesome job covering man! Has helped a ton for those still trying to learn. I keep practicing and trying to perfect my muller technique, but I still can't figure out how you play and keep the right hand rhythem without losing endurance and speed. Any advice? In any case, appreciate the help!
Hey man! Thanks for the kind words! You've probably heard it all before but practice makes perfect! A little trick i still do is play along to one of their live sets, cus they play a fair bit faster live, once you sorta get to that pace the studio stuff should be a little easier for sure! :) Its super easy to get stuck on drumming to these Nonagon songs haha can just keep doing loops of the album!
Dude, this is incredible! How do you so easily do the 16th hi-hat hits so fast for so long without your arm hurting? Been trying but it feels like I'm doing something wrong cos my arm gets rly tired really quickly!
Try and use your wrist. Also both Cavs and Eric sit high and have the hi hats low. They're hitting the top of the hats rather than the side. This gives you more rebound, wich means you're not doing as much work.
@@jacobdronski7455 Yeaa man, i'm way better now haha - clearly is just about doing it and the more you do it the faster and longer you can play that fast aha. Cavs and Eric still so so sick though
Hey, I’m recording a guitar, bass, vocals, and harmonica cover of Nonagon Infinity and the Opening Of the Door (the tracks in the video). Would it be cool if I used your cover? It’s really great, and don’t know any drummers.
Awesome! I play guitar a little more than the drums, but do you have any tips for building the stamina to keep the right hand going (on the hi-hat bits) so fast and steady for so long? And also any tips for those quick little fills that are definitely a signature part of their drumming. I know it's all probably rudimentary stuff, but I struggle with it haha. Thanks!
Jacob Sanchez i think what helped me out the most was that i started to play live with my own garage band, got me going a lot quicker with my hands! Also practice the song a whole lot man! All the best!
For this one i just used my camera mic! Its a Canon 70D, for the other covers i just started chucking a SM57 over the whole kit pointed sorta at the snare :) and for the bass drum a Electrovoice RE20!
at first i was like "pick it up pick it up" and you did nicely
Sardonicous robot needs to start before it can stop
your snare sounds nice
nice one man, time for gizz's third drummer!
second drummer now
This Didnt aged well...
The start is basically me anytime I have to play along to a song I start on my phone.
Never mr beat
Thank you I'm here all week 😂
Sleep drifter Wh-AHHHHH, YOUUUUUU!
My right hand gives up when I try to play this song.
I did the whole album in one go. Don't recommend it. U must die frst before u can unlock all 9.
@@deadpool1901 i tried that, i needed breaks, also i gripped too hard andmy hands feel like they are peeling off

in intro you fucked up.. I almost thumbed down... but in a few seconds you master it.. fuck yeah
hahah
Takes a few seconds for the motor to warm up haha

Daniel Gray thanks heaps man! Could totally team up and do nuclear fusion! 😉

Daniel Gray holy smokes! Hahaha apologies i did many weird things that night! Totally remember that now but haha
haha don't apologise it's cool, like my mate said, now they're even more valuable haha
I reckon you could do at least most of Gamma Knife then

13:49 Aw shit, missed a snare haha. That's a very strange solo but damn it works. Great cover dude, really tight on the rolls.
Solid, your style matches theirs!

Rad cover dude
Those fills are KILLER
I don't know if it's the same in the album but during 'My body works I know' you release the hi hat. And it's awesome
got that same ride, getting a good sound out of it!
frogmorton i love it! Only problem is the ride sound is a bit weak, really washy. But it crashes soooo good
yeah it's washier than high tide but as you say, those crashes are worth it. great job on the cover dude
Full album when??? This is the best King Gizz cover on UA-cam
Awesome rhythm during that drum solo!
Nice! We should form a cover band! :P
Your guitar cover was ace!
i volunteer as the second drummer :)
I could do rhythm guitar...
I can do the killer bass
ABSOLUTELY GOOD!
I know im like 3 years late but holy shit dude this is sick
So THATS how they do those bass parts. I just thought they alternates the bass drum between the two or were somehow really really quick with their ankles.
Those are some beautiful fills. Very well done
Brilliant sounds so similar to the actual song, hopefully i can replicate that
great cover!!
DAMN DUDE, YOU ARE MY NEW GOD
awesome, I wish I could play drums, too:D
Never too late pal! :)
damn!!! you really nailed it!!
Sick cover man!!
i managed alot of the nonigon except road train, but my hands need to either slow down or stop
Kudos, my guy
Awesome stuff man!
Nice job. Keep drumming

Probably doing nothing wrong man its all about practice! The more you do it, the longer you'll be able to hold it! Have fun!

@Freddie Firth Try using smaller sticks too. 7's. Hopefully you gained speed in the last two years.

Cavs actually said in an AMA that practicing slow w heavier sticks helps a lot. Cheers man.
sick
amazing duude
Did you ever get to do the whole album??? Btw your drumming is phenomenal omg
I think ill give it a crack soon! hehe and thank you!

Yo during the verses of gamma knife what are you playing?
Wait a tic. Crocodylus?
Jack Gordon ahahah yea man!
what a coincidence mr gordon
Holy fuck that was awesome! What did you record the drums with?
Wyatt Farnsworth thank you man! Ah just my Camera! A Canon 70D

I see! Will do! Thanks, and looking forward to more covers, especially as their new album is coming out this week!
practice slowly :)
Best advice I could give is hours and hours of pad work. Set a metronome and just try to keep your hand up to tempo for as long as possible.
132/5000
I personally try to play with thicker drumsticks for a while, then I use thinner drumsticks and I feel faster lol
road train and ill cream
what cymbal crash is that
Tokyo Ente Zildjian A Sweet Ride! :)
Lags a little bit in some parts but otherwise sick!
Hey dude what kind of mics are you using?

Duuuuuuuuuude, this is hella whack!
HOW DO YOU EVEN DO THIS? THIS IS INDREDDD! A+
Hella whacking the drums bro \m/
how long did it take to learn gamma knife?
Grzh 9mm not too long actually, probably the first one i learned off the album!
absoloutely insane dude, love it a lot!
same here.
The only difficult part of the song is Cavs solo. Other than that it's pretty straight forward.
I dig it! Nice feel! Check out my drum covers too. They're a lot of fun to make!
synced perfectly with this ua-cam.com/video/ydK1jLVDTVM/v-deo.html
it would be better if you played the notes of the toms and not do everything on the snare
Lol man you fucked up the tempo it was fucking painful at first. Because I’ve actually played the song before and I’ve done the same thing.
