Being over age 50, I forgot my math. I tried helping my elementary niece and she said I was wrong. Soooo, I'm re-learning math... I completely forgot how to do this. But as you continued, memories came back. Thanks.

It's been about ten years since my last math class, and there are some basics like this that aren't often used that I've completely forgotten. My teacher is good, but my school isn't. Somehow they put me in the advanced math class after I transferred there, no test or anything, and I've been very lost. My new teacher is the best I've ever had, but still can only do so much. This was super helpful, thank you

No disrespect but, a lot of people coming to the comments section talking shit about their school math teachers saying that are bad at teaching seem to overlook the fact that their teachers have to work with an entire classroom full of idiots and self proclaimed geniuses, which is very tiring to say the least.

Trick: use LCM (lowest comment factor)
Eg: 27 = 3x3x3 with LCM, it'll be easier.
LCM is lowest common multiple.
LCF is lowest common factor.
just cause were doing math does not mean that english doesnt matter.
the C in LCM means "common." meaning, you will need to have another number to have a "common multiple" with. what you did was simply factoring it.
