Nice listen rebuilt my Engine in my M45 I don't know if you remember me but I have pics and videos from following your instructions and examples I appreciate your videos and Work Brohamster keep the videos coming
I do remember the circumstances. I'm glad you were able to get on the road. Hopefully it didn't cost you too much. Did you end up rebuilding with stock components or did you upgrade anything as you wished to do?
Well I wanted to upgrade the cams and torque converter I almost was about to put the M56 block in but a friend of mine who knows how to help me install the M56 drive shaft is different so I wouldn't cost a lot of money I have a hook up on these hard to find engine and parts
I haven't seen any confirmation of it, but maybe in a couple weeks I would have a better idea. I know some people were able to use the VK56DE titan headers in an M45 (with some modification)
After the HPFP lifter valve metal pieces is causing problems with my motor been on the fence of either selling it or just putting another engine in it or sell it and buy another one lol
Once I saw a picture of your lifter bucket, I knew there was trouble. You can do some things to try to save it, it all depends on how much you love your car.
Hey I just purchased a 2011 m56s with high miles. I'm going either rebuild or replace the engine. Either way I have remove the engine. Do you have suggestions or short cuts on how to remove the engine? Do I have to remove the exhaust manifold?
No they don't. I'll have to refresh my memory, but they are steel, with some (exhaust IIRC) being sodium filled. I'll have to find that document I got the info from
@@EdBwoy wont matter when the valves go, but you are good at taking out the motors and i dont want to ever do it or pay someone. 03 m45 is a keeper. you know it.
Hi, im planning to purchase m56. I heard if m56 has rear worm gear issue. It’s very hard to fix even at Infiniti dealership. Have you seen or experienced rear worm gear problems??
Wassup Ed I’m currently doing a JDM swap on my M45S and was thinking of doing a LS swap🤔. Do u think it would be possible I have a 6.0 I planned on putting in my 89 caprice. But had a crazy idea of LS swapping the Jap. If u know of anyone can u lmk trying to see what all I need, to get the ball rolling😎
Only 1 or 2 people I know of have swapped in non-nissan drivetrains. But none have really shared what the projects involved. I can guarantee it wasn't cheap
@@yfigueroa9848 sorry to hear that. If you can, visit an Infiniti dealership and ask to speak to the service department. They will need your VIN number, but then can usually print the service records for every visit to an Infiniti dealership. If you combine that info with a carfax report, you might be able to see whether the car has had engine trouble reported before, and if so, when that was done.
@@EdBwoy thank you Sir, I am looking this Spring to purchase a sedan and Infiniti M or Q70 maybe. I watch you channel as part of my research so thank you Sir. I know if you sold a vehicle that it would be sorted out or you could inform me on what it needed. I notice other people have said the same thing....has anyone bought cars from you this way? That could be a great way to make money and have great cars out there! You seem like a honest and business savvy guy.... I think I'm onto something there. These Infiniti are not the only cars in my sights however it's between those and Lexus LS but only for size. Have you much experience with the long wheelbase M or Q70? I do prefer these Infiniti for driving characteristics but we are familiar with Lexus and the landyacht LS (love them) however Infiniti are probably equally reliable but more fun to drive maybe? I'm interested in your thoughts and appreciate your time and effort. I love you channel and will continue to watch! Thanks for everything. Happy motoring my friend! Sincerly, Chris O'Connor
@@chrisoconnor3119 I appreciate the kind words, Chris. Unfortunately I am yet to fully experience the long wheelbase model to offer an authoritative comparison. I've had one as a short term rental though, and the driving dynamics were interesting to say the least. The length allowed so much comfort but was still not numbing to drive. I'm comparing it to the SWB Infiniti Q70. I've driven the LS, and I think even the SWB models beat all modern Infinitis in terms of comfort. However personally, I like a little more character from my daily driver. That was the reason I got rid of my *gasp!* *solidly reliable Jaguar XJ8* . Great ride, good acceleration, and as a bonus good fuel economy...but once I stopped doing long highway trips, I found it quite disengaging to drive around town. So I jumped into these gas guzzlers that leave me smiling after every drive.
@@chrisoconnor3119 with regards to selling my "projects", I'd say that you are correct in that by the time I'm selling something, it is fully sorted. If not, then it's probably something I don't prioritize, or else I'd disclose what it is and what it would take to fix it. That's a double-edged sword. On the positive side, I don't mind putting a car away for a few months while I get it situated. If it is tracking weird, I will diagnose, and repair with good quality parts until everything feels tight and right. I basically renew a car mechanically and ensure no problems for the next 100k miles. Obviously that costs time and money. And that is the downside of it all. Sometimes my personal spend approaches and might even exceed the book value of the vehicle at the time I am ready to sell. My passion for these cars would not allow me to do it any other way, although most potential buyers in the marketplace have a different value system and maybe don't see the value in the thousands of dollars I saved them in maintnance costs. And I cannnot fault anyone for that. Don't get me wrong, I have made some profit over the years, but the ROI isn't as aggressive as I'd like. *(I'm going to explain that further in a future video. Thanks for the nudge)* *** I think that business model would be more sustainable for flipping higher end models. I have explored having a dedicated autoshop, whereby I'd focus on fixing rather than flipping. I put that on hold, but it's not out of the question yet.
