Just beginning to learn this classic Santana track. I think I have the original vinyl album in my loft from about 1970 I think when I was 21. Excellent guitar playing sir I only wish that I had learnt when I was 21 but hey it's never to late.

Very informative and easy to learn, i m 64 now, start learning this it has been 2 weeks and i practice an hour a day and i manage do till 02:08. Hopefully i can finish it end of this month.

Just wanted thank you for this. I've wanted to learn this song since I was a kid, and being able to watch the video and practice during the pandemic has made my life easier. Except for the blues lick at 3:58, I've almost got it all down!

I have to say that was as good as the original. Brilliant . I have dabbled for the last 23 years with samba pa ti and got nowhere. It is a very difficult piece to play. 👍👍

Fantastic. I was at Berkeley (Boston) in the late 70s and it was thought by my friends that I had this piece down. Well not quite, and I decided to clean up my act on it a bit tonight on this, you made it much easier for me, this is great. The one comment I can make is that you have oversimplified the somewhat repetitive figure between 3:48 and 3:52, there is actually more going on there, he varies it in a very pretty way in true Santana style there. Other than that its spot on as far as I can tell. Great tone and phrasing.

@ 2:44 - 2:45 that "13-12-13" on the G is actually a "12-11-12". Playing is correct, tab is off by 1 fret.

So I guess they don’t use music notes when they teach music anymore. Very nice performance. I’ve played for 55 years and never saw sheet music like you had. Never needed it.

I have been pretty mediocre as a guitar player, not for lack of talent but for lack of discipline and motivation. Now I’m finishing learning this song and I found out that I learnt more techniques and expression resources than with all the exercises I was doing. After this song I’m gonna learn Moonflower. But I think I will follow Yngwie Malmsteen suggestion and simply have fun playing every day instead of spending hours and hours of boring exercises. I will keep only the essential ones and ignore the rest.
