It's cool when a band covers a song that is kind of within their genre and of a similar style to the music they make. It's interesting to see how they interpret it.
okay, after having listened to casually dressed in full and having it on rotation for a while, at the moment i'm definitely thinking funeral for a friend's version is better and they are just as good as each other.
This version has a much more polished sound than the original, but I still love the original. Charlie's vocals are great as usual in this song, but Alex is just holy shit amazing!
i completely agree with you. It is good for people to go out and support the band. However, i don't think that this is wrong. From personal experience ive found that ive found a song i like and gone and bought the CD that the song is on. I love Fightstar and I hope that they never split up. ...
That's sorta the point of his voice.. it doesn't squeak, I think it's more like a rasp, not sure what to call it, but I think it sounds so fricking awesome, and I love it!
Funeral for a Friend are my favourite band, and while I think they're a better band, Fightstar are still pretty cool, and they did a great job of covering one of my favourite songs of all time.
I do think though, that people should support the band more. They have put the effort in to make something they love, and i only think its right that people who like it, show their appreciation by buying the albums and singles. Rob
I've bought both albums. But I never, ever, buy the singles, because I play them once and never play them again. so for me, its fucking great that they upload the b-sides here.
@hlfsinger That's because he was about 21 when he sung it. And most emo singers sing in high voices, it's kinda part of the genre. I like both versions, this one for it's heaviness and screams and Funeral's version because of it's melody.
Fair enough. Same here, but Funeral for a Friend are definitely my favourite band of all time. Try listening to all of Tales and Memory and Humanity. I was put off listening to them at first, but I quite liked them for what they were. Also, Hours was really good, you should give that a listen too. In terms of Fightstar, I really like Grand Unification and One Day Son, but I'm not as keen on Be Human
Yup, FFAF version is so much better for people who like to sing with a higher note, like myself. ^^, Meaning this one is easier to sing for most people. But FFAF's version will always be more awesome for me. :D
@doritos180 This version sounds more Metalcore like then the original, but I like it :D I think it's something about Drop C Tuning that Metalcore bands use a lot :P
I agree, Charlie screaming is better than FFAF in my opinion, i really don't think his vocals are weak either, he has such a strong voice. They didn't wanna change the original much either. I think this song is ace!
well in honest opinion i think both bands are exceptional, but i havent listened to their albums before armageddon except for their first one, and the ones i have heard from tales and memories and humanity werent too impressive. i honestly love both bands to bits though
vimeo.com/154641437 just felt like posting this film here, cuz everything about this song fits the video, its even shot on an 8MM the entire way through
Most of us Brits do, it's hard to sound good with the whole clipped voice thing. It's not really that we're putting on an accent, it's just how your voice comes out when you sing.
So are all of Funeral for a Friend's albums. Sure, Tales was a little different from everything the band has done before, but it was still good for what it was. Memory and Humanity was a little clunky at times, but it was still good nonetheless.
F.F.F FIGHTSTAR, FINCH AND FUNERAL FOR A FRIEND
FFAF is one of my favorite bands....and this is a damn fine cover!
Fightstar do loads of covers, but I wish they did even more.
Wow, just heard Fightstar for the first time today and they reminded me of Funeral For A Friend. Then I find this. Haha.

Charlie going back to Busted drove me to daytime television.
Cus they appear on lots of daytime TV shows and stuff.

Funeral for a friend are legendary and i cant fault this cover, good on fightstar xD
I love both versions because I love both bands!^^
Their voices work well with it. I really like it.

I find it funny how people can argue over what band is better, to me they are both the best bands i know.
Ben Schoonderbeek bullshit

If you have the "Spilling Blood -"DVD you'll know what i'm talking about ;D
You made me listen to this song for the first time in two years
I wonder why such a song only has 47K views..
This version has a much more polished sound than the original, but I still love the original. Charlie's vocals are great as usual in this song, but Alex is just holy shit amazing!
So much win here.
i completely agree with you. It is good for people to go out and support the band. However, i don't think that this is wrong. From personal experience ive found that ive found a song i like and gone and bought the CD that the song is on.

wow i like this version, more heavier than the original song.. btw Funeral for a friend n Fightstar rulez !!
Good Cover
gotta love alex's voice in this one
Funeral for a Friend are my favourite band, and while I think they're a better band, Fightstar are still pretty cool, and they did a great job of covering one of my favourite songs of all time.
no but its on fightstars album called alternative endings!
you have to remember that this really is a cover and this version wouldnt exist if it werent for that one, no matter what your opinion is.
I do think though, that people should support the band more. They have put the effort in to make something they love, and i only think its right that people who like it, show their appreciation by buying the albums and singles.
Rob
fightstar just amaze me in evryfin they do fukin love them :)
es mi banda favorita 100% funeral for a friend
decent cover but nothing beats the original because Matt's voice is fantastic.
I'm a big FFAF fan but this is WAY better than the original
I've bought both albums. But I never, ever, buy the singles, because I play them once and never play them again. so for me, its fucking great that they upload the b-sides here.
this song is one of the Hazy Eyes singles, the red version i believe
where can i get this song? like by fightstar aint on limewire :S please help haha
@hlfsinger That's because he was about 21 when he sung it. And most emo singers sing in high voices, it's kinda part of the genre. I like both versions, this one for it's heaviness and screams and Funeral's version because of it's melody.
woah woah woah. when did this happen?!!?
agree.
wtf u kiddin? this rocks
I think so too.
But I Still Love It!
Good cover, much different from the original, which is what covers should be =]
Am i right in thinking it's in a lower key than the original?
Fair enough. Same here, but Funeral for a Friend are definitely my favourite band of all time.
Try listening to all of Tales and Memory and Humanity. I was put off listening to them at first, but I quite liked them for what they were. Also, Hours was really good, you should give that a listen too. In terms of Fightstar, I really like Grand Unification and One Day Son, but I'm not as keen on Be Human
hmm....FIGHTSTAR there is only one thing i could say....ITS THE BEST REMAKE OF THE SONG........
AGREE
both bands are amazing! but I prefer Fightstar :)
anyone got the download link?
Charlie versus Matt? Come on guys. No contest here. They both sing from their souls. seriously, grow up.
Yup, FFAF version is so much better for people who like to sing with a higher note, like myself. ^^, Meaning this one is easier to sing for most people.
But FFAF's version will always be more awesome for me. :D
does anyone know what album this is from? :)
I though I would hate this....but god dammit, this is fukin amazing!
This version is better......and i'm a big FFAF fan. This vesion makes you wanna get up and dance around the place doing the ''Air Guitar'' :P Haahaha!
maaan charlies screaming is fucking intense! he was wasted on busted xD
@doritos180 This version sounds more Metalcore like then the original, but I like it :D
I think it's something about Drop C Tuning that Metalcore bands use a lot :P
Matt from FFAF has a much deeper voice these days, so when they perform this song live, it sounds amazing.
I agree, Charlie screaming is better than FFAF in my opinion, i really don't think his vocals are weak either, he has such a strong voice. They didn't wanna change the original much either. I think this song is ace!
someone tell me where i can get this please.
@WarnerMusicGroupLtd Yea exactly, FFAF are great and were going long before fightstar
Is the original from FFAF ?
Did you guys hear? Funeral for a friend covered this song...
saifMSK lmfao
Also He makes it sound more powerful because of his voice.
This cover is good, but the original version is amazing. I fucking love Funeral For A Friend :3
+Hola, Soy Un Bot cierto
Streetcar is the best song !!!
@Tomozaurus yea i dont know why i said weird when i should have said awesome :-p perfection might be pushing it though :-p
@JCarlosFFAF I completely disagree with all that, but we're both entitled to our opinions. Cheers
hey this is actually pretty good. good scream on him. matt davis rules this song however. still they did a good job with this.
well in honest opinion i think both bands are exceptional, but i havent listened to their albums before armageddon except for their first one, and the ones i have heard from tales and memories and humanity werent too impressive.
i honestly love both bands to bits though
@Spedly well i think they are equal in singing skill, but i suppose i like the whiney style :P
vimeo.com/154641437
just felt like posting this film here, cuz everything about this song fits the video, its even shot on an 8MM the entire way through
@phaelfalcon i prefer ffaf's writing but fightstars sound. so this one is a bit weird for me xD
Yea, something about this version is improved on the old. But i still like the original for the same reasons i like FFAF.
@ donteverwannabeyoux
anything is better then school when your 15 :-p very good job he grew out of it though ^_^
sssiiiiiiccckk
Most of us Brits do, it's hard to sound good with the whole clipped voice thing. It's not really that we're putting on an accent, it's just how your voice comes out when you sing.
I find the singing in this song better than in the original. Just my opinion.
So are all of Funeral for a Friend's albums. Sure, Tales was a little different from everything the band has done before, but it was still good for what it was. Memory and Humanity was a little clunky at times, but it was still good nonetheless.
better than original they are fake funeral for a friend is a legend
@RaefBraithwaite1 Deathcar > Any Funeral Song.
why would they cover this?
The Tuning is in Drop C instead of Drop D :-D
Drop C - but only a half step down from FFAF who play in drop Db
Good cover, the vocals are a little belted. But still pretty good.
Fightstar are the band FFAF wish they could be
I give it to Funeral for making this song
I give it to Fightstar for making it sound better.
yeah i think its better than the original. =D
@venusfly9108 not better than the original, but Fightstar rock this song!! dues paid!!!
As a band both are definitely GREAT
but talking about voices... Charlie is invincible! (although this is not his best cover in my opinion)
@ThatBobbsyGuy LOL.
@RaefBraithwaite1 Charlie is win, Unfamiliar Ceilings disproves your 'music, music point', They don't need lead and Omar for president of drums.
its in C# foo'
honestly prefer this to ffaf
That last comment was directed at mooshead666.....
lol i know exactly what u mean man
its good but i dont think they nail the twin leads guitar tht FFAF do
I love this version SOOOO much better, its so much heavier!
