Ahhhh I remember first listening to these guys back in 2006 and instantly loving them! Couldn't believe how attractive they were when I looked them up a while later too ;D Six years later and they're still my favourite band! Amazing dudes.
I know its said about busted in like every vid of fightstars, but leaving busted and being apart of fightstar was the best thing he did. So much better :D awesome emo songs.
@joperhop I am prone to generalisation, if were going to be specific you must note that I did say "people in the UK who listen to Emo music are GENERALLY called "Scenes"" London is a little bit different from the rest of the country because being and international city, there are always people coming in and out from other countries bringing new trends and what not, but generally in the UK, we don't really have many Emo's, they definitely don't dress Emo but they seem to like the fringe.
1. I love how a couple of the band members just kinda rock out with ponytails. xD. And pull it off. 2. That one guy.... in the shopping cart.... Just like "What the hell" but awesome. xD 3. What the hell was with that bitch slap fight?! Fucking love these guys, this is amusing.
@joperhop You might have a point if you were talking about Emocore because it emerged from punk in the mid 80's and the only way to distinguish it was through lyrics, but modern Emo is quite distinctively different and has become a genre of its own, just look at My Chem, Saosin, Jimmy Eat World and Senses Fail. Fightstar cannot be Emo through emotion because they are not an 80s punk band, furthermore, Fightstar classify THEMSELVES as Post-hardcore / Alternative rock / Symphonic rock.
@joperhop "emo stands for emotional and it can be put into many diffent genres of music from Korn to fightstar. " But that doesn't make those bands Emo bands because Emo is a genre in itself, like I said, you can only call emotional bands Emo if they are 80's punk bands. Also Stevenage is very close to London, rest assured if there is a genre in existence, there are representatives of it in and around London because it's such an international city. Manchester and the rest are a bit different.
80's punk spawned Post-Hardcore bands like Fugazi and Black Flag etc...then later on in the 90's bands such as At The Drive In amongst others but Emo had nothing to do with the original punk movement at all, most of those bands like My Chemical Romance and Fall Out Boy etc... who started hitting the mainstream in the 00's (who if you ask me are all terrible and need a good slap), basically took the inspiration from the Pop / sk8er Punk bands of the 90's and early 00's like; The Offspring, Blink-182, Sum 41 etc...and watered it down even further to appeal to suicidal teenagers (especially girls), with all that skinny jean, floppy haired, eyeliner wearing bullshit and over sentimental lyrics and tuneless girly Screamo vocals. I don't consider this track full blown Emo although it has a familiar Post-Hardcore song structure, it's just been designed as a radio friendly Pop-Punk alternative rock song. Even the original Pop-Punk bands mentioned above where bastardized and often suspiciously manufactured looking particularly by the time Good Charlotte came about, but I'd still much rather listen to them then the Emo bands from 5 - 10 years ago when it was the big thing, as it turned out to be it was something of a fad and is now slowly dying out.
@joperhop Yes but the point is that unless they classify themselves specifically as Emo, you can't really call them an Emo band and a further point that must be made, in the UK we don't really have Emo's, people in the UK who listen to Emo music are generally called "Scenes", we all know Charlie is English, does that make Fightstar a Scene band? nope :D
@joperhop Emo is now a genre of it's own, it has grown and become something else that we just call Emo, it is no longer Emotional Hardcore, therefore when you say a band with emotional lyrics are an Emo band, you are wrong because as it stands today, unless the band is specifically Emo (the new genre), they are just an emotional Band, that is not to say emotional bands cant be Emo too, the band just has to specify it themselves.
@happyfred3 well for starters its not correct to say England has no Emo's, sure is a hell of a lot of them outside macdonalds in the town I live in (stevenage), they are emo's... and as I said, emo stands for emotional and it can be put into many diffent genres of music from Korn to fightstar.
@happyfred3 Well, thats what you just said about emo's not being in England out the window, and there is no real diffence from london emo's and Manchester emo's.. its a bit stupid to imply it as well, and you pointed out that a aband can span many diffent genres depending on the song, the message it puts across and how it all ties up (music and singing).
@joperhop .....Evidently you know nothing about Emo, it emerged from Punk in the 80's, at that time it was known as Emocore or "Emotional Hardcore", it was essentially a form of punk with emotional lyrics.
I know this is a year old, but it's wrong. Since Emo is already a genre, although still very underground, how can it become another genre that has nothing to do with itself?
Emo is already a genre correct, but that is simply what it is called by people who listen to it when in truth, they are Emo core, the original variant of punk. So technically Emo hasn't become another genre, another genre has come out of emo(core). Emo core is a name that has been applied retrospectively to emo in order to differentiate it from its new variant.
In my opinion Emo is just a watered down and pop version of Post-Hardcore or Grunge which Fightstar fit more into, I wouldn't describe Fightstar as an Emo band at all or even Emocore whatever the fuck that is anyway although songs such as this could be perceived as Emo although it's rare that Fightstar sound this commercial, it's almost like Busted on steroids. How about we just call it Rock music and stop over complicating things with stupid genre tags which pigeonhole bands, Fightstar are one of the most musically diverse and experimental bands going so can never be labelled under a specific genre more a mix of genre's. I never thought I'd ever say this about someone from that atrocious band otherwise known as Busted but Charlie Simpson is something of a modern genius, he is creative, imaginative and daring aswell as a great singer, songwriter and multi-instrumentalist musician. You should check out his solo material if you haven't already and his latest band / project Once Upon A Dead Man, both are totally different to Fightstar or anything he has done previously !
@happyfred3 And im sorry to say that I dont think you know 100% what Emo is, you think its 80s punk when thats just punk, and I think you need to look and learn more about this before you start saying that only London has Emo's, and before you say that Punk is Emo and emo only exists in the 80s...
@J2TheHBOYZ erm??? So im fucked up in my head for my view? Is it not more fucked up not acapting others opions and not respecting it but instead posting these kind of posts? Emo short for emotinal- this band have ALOT of emotion in their songs... so... they are emo. Before you start having a pop at a style of music learn what it is first.

@happyfred3 indeed, emo can spam many styles of rock, and they do fit into those genres as well.
@joperhop .....Evidently you know nothing about Emo, it emerged from Punk in the 80's, at that time it was known as Emocore or "Emotional Hardcore", it was essentially a form of punk with emotional lyrics.
Is this the official video or are these clips put together? If so, I'd love to find the original clips! :)

Emo short for emotinal- this band have ALOT of emotion in their songs... so... they are emo. Before you start having a pop at a style of music learn what it is first.
So according to this video I've learnt that Ed Sheeran is emo as a few of his songs are emotional.... hmmmm
Why the fuck did Charlie go back ti busted
