You’ll be pleased to know it now has a modified diverted style valve to maintain coolant flow through the head whilst enabling correct heater function. Still goes well in 2022. Likes North Yorkshire Moors tracks n trails. Eats Sutton Bank for breakfast like it’s not even a hill 😁.

Mine has the computer controlled injection but I really don't see an issue swapping unless its with the transmission which I would like to swap with the BMW manual or a Benz manual. Question, does the 606 and the 603 share the same bolt pattern for the transmissions? I also have a 94 Estate that would be perfect for the 606 swap but one thing at a time. I'm lucky in a sense as I register cars in a place without the smog police breathing down your neck. I think your on to something here. Who doesn't want power and fuel mileage? Like I said this would be great in a Rubicon as Benz did own Chrysler for a time and maybe you could fake someone out. Ha Ha.

I myself plan on ordering parts from dpuk as soon as I finish computer tuning my electrically controlled fuel system. For you, it would be easier to just swap the fuel pump and transmission to manual/mechanical. Also, you have more potential for upgrades that way.

First...I absolutely love what you do with OM606s, its amazing! The question I have, I think you answer, but I just want to go a little deeper. For an overland vehicle do these mods decrease the effectiveness of low RPM torque, long distance slow crawling, fully loaded dirt road or sand dune excursions? I am building my overland rig right now and would love to think that these updates to my OM606 would simply make it way more pleasurable as a daily driver and still maintain its amazing overland performance. Last question would also be...impact on fuel consumption?
While a Chinook helicopter is probably the best way to remove an engine, you can also use an engine hoist if you get really desperate. Also, just mark the damn driveshaft with a piece of chalk before you pull it. Looks like a nice swap - I love the way the the trans mount bolts onto the factory crossmember.
Listen you can put a power wheels battery style gear in a g wagen and they still love it lol. Great that is what made for military and went out to public. Same as willys jeep in 40s. Ford jumped on contract and look that things is almost 100 yrs old anf still ppl love them

hi ive a 1985 om616 n/a . have you got the upgraded return fuel pressure releif valve , the one with the spring and ballbaring and banjo connected ,,,,the upgraded ones have a stiffer spring to keep pressure higher on the rail ,,,please reply ,keep up the great great work
I've got this crazy idea to stick a Mercedes 606 into a Dodge Ram 2500 that's currently being powered by a 5 9 Cummins just a crazy idea won't leave me alone
The 5.9 is a more heavier duty longer lasting engine than a om606 the om is definitely lighter but definitely wouldn't last as long taking monster horses power as a Cummins 6bt the 6bt is an industrial engine so is far more more heavy duty and can be tuned for insane horse power where as the om606 was designed for cars not small H.G.V.S tractors buses excavators etc like the Cummins. Dont get me wrong the om606 is impressive for its size but it ain't no Cummins courses for Horses.
@@g.a.f3398 I was just trying to get the weight down in theory it would work but yes I've got a two thousand four and a half 6bt 5.9 Cummins down in my truck right now it is the h o model and it's been paired with a 62 mm Turbo it pours the smoke going down the road if you stomp on it and I was just trying to get the smoke content down however I did need an excuse to put a methanol injection system on I guess that's the route I must go

everything is awesome about this engine apart from alternator placement. for a road car its none issue but for an off roader its horrible as they will get clogged with mud then its gg. and i assume replacing on in a car isnt an easy job on the side of the road?

Cameron k we already sell swap parts for wranglers but it’s very rare we sell any it seems to be a very slow market for those.
