There’s no regulations on them and they do taste very good, I’ve only kept the one that was close to a nys record.. you can check that video out on my white perch playlist. I release 99% of them bc these fish get fished out so easy.. that’s why there are so few spots on the island that are productive
Persistence thy name is BSprex. I am revamping my apartment but plan to get out ASAP, probably after Christmas. Wonder if that brown trout that looked like you caught it twice is still about? Probably tough for a trout to over summer there due to O levels. Hope your little ones Xmas is magical! Don't forget to hook up Ms. Sprex, not every woman is so indulgent when it comes to serious fishing. Or maybes she just wants you out of the house....
Just curious Do you ever fish for trout? LI has a few rivers and streams that I hit occasionally. I've always used my flyrod for them but am planning on bringing my LW spinning rod, that i use for fluke, the next time I go. I ask bc I've not done much trout fishing on spinning gear so I'm curious about it. Thanks for all your content. Great Job this season!
Yeah I do a lot of trout fishing here on the island with spinning gear. Holdovers in the dead of winter are my favorite. I have a trout fishing playlist you can check out
@@Bsprecksfishing go for it, I'm not giving up yet, heard they are up in RI, only time will tell. as for the perch, have you gotten them in any areas not connected to freshwater?.
@@CP-rp7yp All the places I have caught herring on Long Island are full salt water. On the north shore it’s more in the back bays, but on the south shore it’s in channels and inlets.
Ahh the joys of December fishing...2 weeks later...12 ponds/lakes later fish is caught. I am in RI, I feel your pain!!
Haha that’s how it is!
Thanks for watching!
still loooking for that black crappie but weather is tooo cold
Yeah I’ve tried for them a couple times this winter, no luck yet
Are they pretty much catch and release? Can you cut up and use as bait? Or even eat?

Thanks for the response! What are some good spots for them if you don't mind sharing?
@@infiniteaviation955 look for closed off salt ponds in non pressured areas
@@infiniteaviation955 The Fisherman will give you good leads. Spot burning is like garlic and crucifixes to a fisherman.
