Any suggestions for more specific areas on LI? I would like to catch my first white perch but as a non native, I often don’t know where to go. I’ve hit some mapped spots with no luck. Just shore fishing with UL setup.
Mix up some cheap fish flavored cat food, grind with some spearing and chum with that. I make frozen cup cake cups with the same stuff when its warmer with a rock inside so it sinks well. Bring the fish to you.
Great stuff. I’ve been meaning to ask you, last spring you posted a vid on a rainy night on the north shore where you were crushing nice stripers. You were using a blurple sp minnow. Do you recall the size? Was it the 13 or the 15. Small detail but it might make a difference.
i dont do white perch fishing. my dad and i used to go after them cuz he said they were good eating but we never had luck. are they a brackish water fish? since there was bunker there too
Hey bro, I watch your videos all the time since 2020, I live on LI it would be awesome if you named some of the spots you go to cause id love to fish some of the place's you go to on the island.
@@Marceldbd dude i been fishing long island my whole life, got tons and tons of spots but he post some spots i never new existed like that one video he did of the herring I had no idea you can fish for that north shore off a dock
Google maps is your friend. Just look for any freshwater outflow into a canal. It could be a tiny little creek or a larger river. Did you see how tight that spot was he was fishing in? If we post the spots on here I will guarantee that you will not be able to fish there because that looks like a one or two person spot max and it’ll be jam packed. This is true for most white perch spots from shore. There is very limited space to fish. There are dozens and dozens of spots just like that one along the south shore with brackish water that hold white perch. There are even a couple spots on the north shore😉
@@justinmilione6218 That’s a very popular spot, And Nelson is right Google maps is your friend, I just don’t think it’s helping any fisherman to ask somebody to burn a spot on a platform this big, Good luck on figuring it out
Good to see you back! Great scenery - great video as usual!
Thanks for watching!
saltwater or freshwater
That was brackish tidal water

Hmm never thought to chum for white perch
Where
Seeing any herring on the north besides a month ago?
Nah but tbh I haven’t put too much effort in lately
Was that a rubber grub or shad? Two inch?
1 inch grub I think

It was the smallest size, 5 1/8 inch floating. And I bumped up the split rings and hooks
do those little creeks always have water no matter the tide?
or is it like millpond
At low tide the water level is too low to fish at the first spot, but some have enough water no matter the tide

Yeah they are tricky to figure out, really good eating.. yes this is brackish water
Too bad the fish were so little, nice scenery, though.
Yeah can’t complain, especially this time of year
Where are you fishing ?
