      In Mary Shelley's Frankenstein, the monster learned evil behavior from the villagers. When the movie was made, they changed it to a deranged brain, people didn't want to see they were the villains of the story.

      This quote reminds me of grandfather. Dude was quiet and polite. My mom didn't even know he saw combat until I repeated a war story from Korea he had told me. The look of shock she had when I showed her what his job was still makes me smile when I think about it.

      Describes my father retired Army. Never could understand men bigger than him saying they wouldn't want to meet him in a dark alley. To me he was just my daddy till the day someone grabbed me thinking I was a kid alone.

What truly makes a man is not what you do, it’s what your capable of doing and don’t. That restraint, and discipline is the root of what makes a real man

      I believe it falls under the 'Sunk Cost" Fallacy. I've put this much into it, it would be a shame to waste all of that, when it might yet turn out better. It is often heard with gamblers. In the case of cheaters, your turn-around is exactly right.

    It happened to me couple times in the past and the people who witnessed me getting fed up with it will never forget it.

    Well susan got the life her actions dictated, she didn't see the real man before her and it cost her, she will never have the love she lost and now she realizes it! The real problem was that she was going to keep it a secret, then lie about it up until the proof is presented! Then said it was a mistake and it only happened once?!     Being a former operator myself I understand this SEALs misunderstood demeanor.
    Don't ever mistake our passiveness for weakness. Tim's wife is finding this out. Walter Hurley is lucky he is still walking the earth.

    You can only be a seal with a 6 year enlistment, takes 2 years of training. The Navy wants it's investment back because it costs them near a million bucks or more.

    They foolishly believed he was like a gardener in a war having NO CLUE he was actually a warrior in a garden! He deliberately buried that part of himself deep as it’s no longer needed stateside(peacetime) & that it would be dangerous, damning & scarring for others to witness! Little did they know that it’s still there & the dark side of him would LOVE to unleash it & set it free! All these shitbags just gave him a reason to let it free-bad for you!

    Tim’s biggest mistake was confessing his “love” to her way too soon and telling her he wanted to marry her. He clearly valued the relationship way more than she did. Not a good move on his part.

    I like revenge stories, but this one wasn't it. The wife had given plenty of time and told what bothered her. They hadn't solved it so the wife lost nothing in the divorce. In that sense, Tim was generous, but also honorable when allowing his ex wife to keep the nice living conditions until she found herself someone new.
    A good story, but not one of revenge but of miscommunication.

    The thing is, when another man nails your wife, he irrevocably destroys a large part of your Honor and there is no getting it back. The rest of your life, spiritually, you are a multiple amputee and there is no way to rectify the sutuation. You have an enormous guilt laid on your soul. that you can NEVER be forgiven for. Pray to God. even almighty God can only say, "I m sorry my child. I cannot forgive you for something that you didn't do," That is why it is sheer stupidity to even THIN K of giving someone a second chance after they heaped shame and dishonor on you.

    Times a past is left in the past. Compartmentalization is a method of dealing. Uncovering or forcing it back into the open is a dangerous game. Skills never are forgotten, a true warrior will adapt with other skills. Best to not open that pandora’s casket.

    By the time he came to his senses & changed his demeanor it was too late. He contributed to this situation about his wife. The problem was just just that he was too timid which was too extreme the other way. He was not balanced at all. He gave off the wimpish & dooormat deameanor, and that is on him.
