    I will explain the thing.
    I saw this video a while ago. There is a trick here. Reading the comments it seems that people alway forget the main thing in 4x4 (or maybe no clue?).
    ((It is the fat 2.5” Fox shocks!))
    The suspension is completely different. That’s why these racing shocks are very expensive. They are 2.5” - the compression and rebound are way better than these stock or 2.0” shocks.

    • @qswedasf
      @qswedasf 3 роки тому

      Main thing in 4x4 is shocks? Lol wtf you smoking.
      More like tyres and clearance and skill... shocks would have hardly made a difference here

    When I read the comments here I often wonder how many of the people here ever sat in a 4x4 under real offroad conditions. Before you break something on your car (axle,...) because of hitting the gas too hard its totally worth to take 10 minutes longer for a difficult passage.Better safe than sorry.

      You mean like he did at 08:21 and then at 08:47 to ACTUALLY get up?
      Tyres, approach angle... But he deflated and used the gas anyway which he should have just done from the start.

    Why would you compare the BT-50 model that was released alongside the Ford Ranger to the Ford Raptor, and evenso straight up to the 2018 models, the BT-50 and Ranger carry the same engine, transmission, suspension, essentially the same truck with different outer shells.

  • @300bhpton
    @300bhpton 4 роки тому +6

    Momentum and smooth throttle control are they key. It's easy to be an armchair critic, but it is quite easy to see in this vid. Great example at the 4 min marker. They went a bit quicker and cleared the first part of the hill with ease, having been stopped previously when going slower. But then as soon as they needed to maintain the momentum they lifted off the throttle getting stopped again. They would have been better off rolling all the way back and trying again. Off road driving is a skill you never stop learning at. The driver of the Mazda should watch this vid so that they can adapt their driving next time round.

    Ford raptor has terrain management system making it easy for the engine to distribute enough power required among the tires. I believe bt 50 doesn't have these feature. Though for power, i still prefer the 3.2L set up of the previous ranger. So all in all, i believe the tech on the raptor did the most part of the job there.

      The engine does not distribute power. It is the gear box and traction control. I had this system (TMS) on a 2005 ranger rover. You can do the terrain modes manually i.e. sand mode (4x4, hi, traction control off, increase throttle response [if you have a throttle controller or just use a heavier foot]. Rock crawling (4x4, low, diff lock [reduce throttle response or use lighter foot])... etc.

      Los dos tienen neumáticos BFG 285/70 R17 All terrain. Que al de la BT50 le falta habilidad no lo niego. Toda comparación es válida, en este caso sirve para que alguien con X presupuesto decida si gastar más por uno u otro vehículo (o serviría si los dos conductores fueron igual de competentes/la misma persona).
      No tiene nada de malo comparar gamas distintas si el resto de la prueba se realiza de manera correcta.

    If you set the bt50 up correctly in the first place, you would have been up there first go. Dropped the tyre pressure, 4L, rear diff lockers engaged, etc... but please tell me im wrong, oh wait he made it up after he dropped the tyre pressure....

    the problem is not the engine but the tyre grip. It is obvious that the tyre of the raptor is more rough than of Mazda
