Twice Alberich asks his SON Hagen to swear loyalty to him. Hagen never answers the question directly, but rather the first time @ 10:09 he simply says the ring will be his. When Alberich repeats his request of loyalty from his son @ 10:20, Hagen replies @ 10:30 only that he has sworn it to himself. Absolutely chilling.

Hagen's answer was mistranslated in the English translation, it's not "evil dwarf" but "evil albe" albe is short for Alberich who plays Hagen's dead father. a spicy detail for me; my father was also called Alberich. I have two versions of Der ring des Nibelungen, one by Solti and one by Janowski, simply sublime.
