Easy Clay Walrus │Polymer Clay Tutorial

Hi everyone! Today I’ll be showing you how to make a mini clay walrus for beginners. For someone wanting to start small, this is perfect. The type of clay used in this video is Sculpey, Craft, and Fimo. I use what’s available as most brands are similar to each other. Always follow your clay’s baking instructions on the package when making clay creations, though I tend to bake a little longer than suggested as your clay will not burn as long as it stay below a certain temperature. I baked mine at 275 degrees F in a preheated oven for 1 hour. Take it out and leave to cool before handling the clay as it is still soft and handling it may leave dents.
Tip: When shaping the clay, if you find that you are leaving a lot of fingerprints, you can use a q-tip and acetone to wipe the surface of the clay clean.
Tip: If your clay is becoming too soft to sculpt the details, place the clay in the freezer for 10 minutes to harden the surface before continuing.
