Despite most of the power system in this show is super well thought out and makes sense in universe why things work it also has "random" critical hits that are just hype
@Ohg665 no what in my comment made you think that I just said that it's cool a random critical hit move works so well in a power system comparable to nen in complexity

So there is a mistranslation when describing the power of the Black Flash. It doesn’t multiply an attack by 2.5, it is to the power of 2.5 So if Yuji’s attacks have a value of 10, a Black Flash doesn’t do 25 damage, but rather 316.227766017 damage.
This episode sure took a while to come out. Been waiting for your reactions to 19 and 20 since they're two of the best episodes of S1 animation-wise. Anyways, a Black Flash is basically like a critical hit. When Todo says "Between those who have and haven't experienced it, there is a difference of heaven and earth" we see on one side of the screen, Nanami first and then Gojo. It implies that Gojo hasn't experienced Black Flash yet. If you think about it, he really doesn't need to since he doesn't really fight physically. But Gojo is still the strongest aka knowing how to score critical hits alone can't make you the strongest. Bottom line is Black Flash isn't unique to a single character and can be done by anyone if they're focused enough and channeling cursed energy throughout their whole body. Secondly, when Todo joins the battle after Itadori lands a Black Flash, the animation goes haywire but it's not just random movements. If you focus on it, you can see that despite the tilting camera, the boys are always moving forward and the roots never come at them from an unnatural angle. It's well thought out. Many people ask why Inumaki doesn't die after telling Hanami to blast away. He is seen being carried away by the witch. The thing is - cursed speech only affects your throat. You can end up completely losing your voice but that doesn't necessarily equate to dying. Excited for Ep20
Sorry for the delay and thanks for the patience. We had a community post up about the schedule, and be sure to check there in case of any other future delays, just so you're in the loop. Thanks for the context here too! There's a lot going on on screen for sure. It was a fun episode to watch and edit.
hey guys I know its been a week but I just wanted to clarify that in the world of JJK, Sorceries and Cursed Energy work on a system of Equivalent Exchange. you may have heard of Binding Vows and Heavenly Restrictions in the show. Binding Vows are Vows a Sorcerer makes to gain immense power for an equivalent price. Nanami did this in his fight against Mahito, where he vowed to use less than his full potential until 6pm, but once the clock struck 6 he was granted a huge surge in strength and CE. Heavenly Restrictions are set at birth against a sorcerers will. they are such like Maki, where she has NO Cursed Energy but is extremely physically strong in exchange. knowing these things, "Revealing Ones Hand" is considered a Binding Vow. you tell your opponent what your Technique is and how it works, and as such they know whats coming and potentially how to handle it. the exchange, however, is usually vastly increased strength of the technique, or efficacy, or efficiency, etc. Obviously, this is just a clever way to have exposition on the powers being displayed without it being silly to hear them explaining it for no reason like is typical in anime, and also a clever way to set up moments where perhaps a Sorcerer isnt honest about their Techniques.
@@TheGenreVerse appreciate you guys! I hope it wasnt something you did understand so I that I wasnt blabbing at you for no reason haha, I didnt wanna come off condescending or rude, was only hoping to help! love the reactions as always and cant wait for more JJK!
I didn't know the specifics due why telling your technique to the opponent benefited you, only that it did. Thanks very much for sharing the info and for the support!

Yeah, for example lets say his punch would have 400J energy, it would be increased up to 3.2MJ if it was a black flash
Thanks!

Man these reactions are horrible.
Why?
@@TheGenreVerse because they are so good!
Very confused... Thanks for watching and commenting though!

Nanami's Overtime binding vow isn't too great of a powerup, he operates at 90% until 6pm in which he is then granted 110% power.
