“Pit of Consciousness” (Live in Kiev) Vlad’s drums in this one along with the time signature changes he pulls off will definitely amp you up. It is very well composed. Not to mention Tati’s performance with some of the lowest growls you will hear from her. It’s a home wrecker.
From what you've heard thus far, Teacher Teacher, Wallflower and Judgment & Punishment are gonna blow your mind. However, let's not forget about mind blowing baby Jinjer from '12. "Scissors" and "Exposed as a Liar" OMV are their awesome beginnings. 💪🔥🤘
This drummer is Dmitry Kim. He joined the band when their previous drummer had a tragic accident and became paralyzed. He stayed with the band through the King of Everything album but he really didn't want to tour in the intense way they do it so Vlad came on. So the original drummer on that album (including the original version of Pisces) was him. Vlad then joined and they did the version of that song you saw to introduce him as their new drummer. Dmitry is an amazing drummer and still works with the band on things and their producer Max Morton on things for the band. When I saw them in Nashville in 2022 they did this song and she absolutely nailed that final part all these years later. Six layers of goosebumps for that one. There is a "making of" video for this music video out there. There is a really good live version of this that was snipped from a full length concert video of theirs they did in Madrid here ua-cam.com/video/91wkg9wenqs/v-deo.html She used to sing it live with a little more grit and then dropped the grit mostly in later shows. One of her most dynamic performances on video is the live version of Captain Clock at Resurrection Fest 2018. If you see that one remember the phrase "eyes open, eyes closed she still sees you" because of something she does with her makeup. Speaking of makeup there is also a video out there of how she does her stage makeup that is fun to watch. With a few exceptions she does the lyrics. The lyrics to Outlander are one of her best. You could react to their official live at Loudfest version of that. It's also a good performance. The official music video is just the studio track laid over live video but the Loudfest version is a genuine live performance version.
I agree, Dmitry is an awesome drummer, so were the 2 guys before him. I miss both Dmitrys. Thanks coder and thanks Vocal for doing my favorite Jinjer song!
How kind. Thank you! This is also my favorite Jinjer song. For your consideration, I have a JINJER REACTIONS playlist. I would encourage you to save it. I keep my reactions in the order they occurred (as it should be). I hope you enjoy. TONS of new Jinjer coming soon.
they are magnificent live , saw them as a 5 piece in 2015 in the czech republic with 20 other people and the first song i ever heard was outlander , still my fave to this day. seen them nearly 20 times live including all 12 shows they have done here in OZ.
Dmitry is awesome. He did a drum playthrough of Captain Clock that really shows off his skills on his youtube channel. And best of all he plays with the band Noapology, they have a ton of really good cover songs and a few originals songs posted on their youtube as well.
This is a fantastic display of talent, this song. I’m getting an Opeth meets Dream Theater kinda feel when it comes to hypnotic vocals, intricate time signatures and storytelling. I could listen to this all day! 🤘
As you could plainly see, I died and died and died over this song... and you're so right about the prog metal similarities between Opeth and Dream Theater. Isn't this song the f*cking best?!j (but that DRUMMER tho...)
She is indeed stunning. You'll learn as you continue, that she can rock the hell out of any look. Every MV she has a different look, and they all work fabulously on her.
This was Tati’s call to the universe for a soul mate. She was 28 and alone at the time. If you read the lyrics with that backdrop, you will see what an amazing poet she is.
@@VocalCitizen Yes her husband Alex is the drummer in POD. She's also quite attached to her cat which is in their Judgement and Punishment One Take Vocal video.
The drummer who played this studio track and appeared in this video is Dmitriy Kim. He's basically a session drummer who was temporarily playing for Jinjer after their previous drummer, Yevhen Mantulin, broke his spine by falling from a widow. Yevhen played on the Cloud Factory album (2014), and appears in the "Cloud Factory" official video. Dmitriy replaced him in later 2014, played on their King of Everything album (2016), and appears in this video as well as the "Sit Stay Roll Over" and "Words of Wisdom" official videos, among other appearances. Vladislav Ulasevich ("Vlad") replaced Dmitriy shortly after the release of King of Everything, and the band made the "Pisces" live session video to showcase his style. Vlad played on the Micro EP (2019) and the Macro (2019) and Wallflowers (2021) albums, as well as on their forthcoming album (not yet named, as far as I know). All of the drummers that have played in Jinjer have been incredibly good. I think that Vlad has the most unique style of the lot, as he plays with a huge dynamic range and a lot of jazzy influence. He's a classically trained pianist and plays guitar as well as drums, and has made increasingly large contributions to composing their music (something like 80% of Wallflowers, if I recall correctly). I think their current lineup is their best lineup, and it has been stable since 2016. I do think a second guitarist would be great, but no doubt it's hard to find someone of suitably high calibre with the right chemistry for the rest of the band.
@VocalCitizen fyi From Nothing is not a song. It is a 20+ minute video of three tracks recorded live in studio, combined with an interview of the band. It was just released several days ago. It would still make a great reaction, but just wanted to make you aware of what it is. The 3 songs performed are Vortex, Wallflower, and Dead Hands Feel No Pain, which are all songs from their last album Wallflowers.
@danielbeck9310 lol yeah obviously😂😂......."From nothing" is the name of their show for interview + Live Session performance from every band.......they have time stamped every song and all interview sections lol.
Some people react to Jinjer songs and (almost) each new song becomes favorite at the moment. You still didn't experience the heavy and aggressive side of Jinjer. All three songs are at the bottom half of Jinjer's heavy rating. Maybe you'll like their heavy side as well or even more. A couple of heavy tracks: - Pit Of Consciousness - Call Me A Symbol And a couple of fast aggressive tracks: - Sit Stay Rollover - Who's Gonna Be The One
Don't think you've done it yet and assume you'll be getting to it soon considering the tracks you have done but can't wait to hear what you think about Teacher Teacher. But I Speak Astronomy is too often overlooked and I agree is one of my top Jinjer tracks, mostly for the second half which shows just how good that second half is but appreciate the song as a whole as well.
I love the rhythm of the drums and the guitar in the first half of the song that kind of disrupsts and keeps it going at the same time. Also, I love your enthusiasm about each member of the band! And I love how you seem to fall in love with this band the same way I did.😊
Oh, that's sweet! Thank you... I will definitely react to those soon. Save my Jinjer Reactions playlist (it's in chronological order, as ALL playlists should be). I can't wait!!!
Great Jinjer song and another great reaction! Tati has said this is a "love song" when asked during an interview is she'd ever written or performed a love song/ballad. I know some people enjoy the Jinjer songs that have more clean vocals, and another song I'd recommend would be "Cloud Factory." Keep up the great work! As to lyrics, Tati does write the lyrics for Jinjer and is very much a poet. I know Eugene has contributed some lyrics occasionally, but Tati is the band's lyricist. Jinjer has what I consider to be a somewhat unique way of composing songs/albums. I thought I had commented on it before, but if not I'd be happy to do it again!
Nick, you're too awesome. You always come with the facts for me. I appreciate you. FYI, I have not forgotten about "Captain Clock". That reaction's coming for ya.
