Anyone else notice how out-classed that tree tractor was? Almost flattened front tires, and the rear tires floating just off the ground! And yes, the camera work was atrocious... such a shame!
Whoever the camera operator was on this video should NEVER get the camera in their hands again. The only thing that ruins a good video is when the camera is waved around like a magic wand. It is VERY disorientating to the viewer. Plus, you cannot see ANYTHING of value. Why wasn't the camera mounted on a tripod to begin with?
I was sad to see such poor video quality when the subject was so interesting. It would be so helpful to use a good camera held by a trained person. Maybe next time.
One of the most amazing trees I have seen in my 60+ years. And I'm from Oregon... so I kinda know a little about this. This could have been one of the greatest millings ever witnessed. Unfortunately, I watched bad camera work and topped that off with poor viewing quality. You people need to invest a couple of dollars and upgrade your camera's quality. You also need to stand still and stop swinging the camera around before it focusses on the last thing you missed. Slow down and stand still. Thank you,
YEAH... I'd walk under a set of forks with a 5 ton log sitting on them. Tires all squashed down like they could blow. Some folk just don't have the built in danger alert.
I bought some seeds off a Bonsai company the seeds were of the Zelkova serrata (Japanese elm) I planted them in pots and they were 12 inches tall in the first year so I planted them in my garden as a hedge. I sold the property twenty years later and the Zelkovas were thirty feet tall and one foot across the base and watching the beautiful wood coming off this saw mill i feel sick as the man I sold this property to cut them down and used them for firewood.
30 feet is just a tad tall for a hedge. You had a tree line and many people do not want lines of trees. A lot of other people just don't want to have to deal with the leaves every fall.
NO LE DICEN A ESE SEÑOR QUE ESTA ATAJANDO LA MADERA QUE CORTA LA SIERRA QUE ES AURTOMATICA...??. Y QUE ESOS BRAZOS QUE SE LEVANTAN ES PARA ESO...!!!?? DIGO ... A LO MEJOR... VISTE...??
Zelkovas are trees planted centuries ago, near villages, temple, etc. They are protected and well preserved (sacred ?) trees, cut only when unavoidable (often when dying or dead). This one is a fresh, sane log, this is unusual.
6:59 well it's been finassing for 20' already... when the show starts? 17:16 meditating superman or praying for good cut? I think he don't know what to do yet with the nice wood, he is hoping for inspiration. I would. 32:08 next time take a little time to show the slabs off the bandsaw please. dryadfurniture.com
The internal part looks like it might be a hardwood, but the bark looks more like a conifer. Absolutely beautiful grain structure. Imagine a dining room table with one of those slabs.

.THE wood is great, the sawer did a Wonderfull job, but the person filming the clip should go back to his regular job of sweeping the floor.
Every slab is like a piece of art, amazing. Thank you for filming it.
wow what a beautiful piece of wood
This is the most beautiful wood I have ever seen! How old was this tree? How heavy this piece?

That log must be super heavy, did you see how compressed his tire was; i thought he had a flat
Lets see amazing mill amazing log and each cut was more beautiful than the last...

beautiful wood, but what is done with it. Can you create a link to someone who is making something from these slabs?
that sill man by the blade must be the boss no one telling him to get away from it

What is it about wood that it just looks so beautiful?
And how high the backend of his hustler gets
it takes about 10 min of moving the tree around until they start to cut.
Now that's a big tree!

Such beautiful wood! I sure hope they do more with it than turn it into 2 x 4s.
Fintan Cummings they sell those slabs whole, extremely high end desks and tables will be made of it.

Dieses Holz mit seinen Maserungen ist einfach ein Traum.
Considering it’s mostly grown as an ornamental in Europe and south west Asia, and for furniture, this one is a whopper.
YEAH... I'd walk under a set of forks with a 5 ton log sitting on them. Tires all squashed down like they could blow. Some folk just don't have the built in danger alert.
That is a fabulous stick of wood right there!
giant zelkova
That wood is beautiful, but the forests are disappearing at an alarming rate. Need good management.

Para poder posicionar troncos de esa envergadura: ¿no sería más práctico estar equipados con algún tipo de grúa pórtico?
wow thats really huge, and beautiful :)

I assume they push against log during the cut to ensure the blade stays orthogonal to the face? Anyone know
... when is the cutting going to begin?
That saw was maxed out.
If I could get just a few branches from that tree!
15:10 It's like putting an elephant through a saw mill!!
ORANGEWOOD?

How does Japan have all these GODZILLA sizes trees ?
The pay big bucks to import them.

Ok
Good
دوربین باید محل حرکت اره را نشان دهد سایر جاها جذابیتی و انگیزه ای برای دیدن ندارد ضمناً چه همه وقت تلف شده در این فیلم هست

@Robert Hersey Why do you think he destroyed the timber?
Log looks like a piece of shit. I don't know this species. I assume it's valuable? Looks like a hedgerow red oak...
