One thing I particularly appreciate about your channel is not only your detailed descriptions of how you go about detailing each car, but also your analysis of the materials you use, which is incredibly informative and definitely assists amateur detailers like myself when deciding what to and not to buy. This is something I will absolutely purchase in the near future. Keep up the fab work Heather!
After I asked you about this steam cleaner a few weeks ago Heather I went out and bought it , really for my daughter’s Mazda 2 as she’s been away working all summer and came back with the car badly needing cleaned inside. Mostly caused by stage makeup on the interior surfaces. It was brilliant and £160 well spent in my opinion. It took it off the seat fabric and the surfaces she touches like steering wheel and dials etc. works a treat. It was great to get rid of some of the scum from the engine as well. Love the way you just fill it and carry on. Thanks again for the recommendation that few weeks back. Love the channel 👌
i recently bought a new car, one of the best decisions i made was to have rubber mats. So much easier to clean, hardly any dirt on the carpets which can be a nuisance to clean.
Don’t do this. It may look great but it heats up the glue that bonds the headliner to the roof panel. You’ll cause the headliner to lose its bond and begin to fall. Please please be careful doing this.
My wife bought a steamer a good few years ago at great cost and used it only a couple of times until I took it outside to clean my dirty alloys and broke the nozzle and never used it again. I should really order another nozzle and give it another try as it could be useful as you suggest for rubber mats and trim. My wife won't use ours again as she bought a steam mop and it works for 95% of what she bought the original one for. Have a good Christmas and New Year and I look forward to your content in 2024.
I have one from a company called Efbe Schott (German, I presume), which I've had since before turning professional. It's old school with a pressurised tank, but the capacity is 1.5 litres. Oh, and it also came with a steam iron attachment free! However, now, I would choose Karcher and probably the same model you have.
Great review. I've had the sc2 for 3 years now. Still going strong. Just need to de scale it every now and again. Gets me through full valet using it on seats, carpets, matts and plastics on the one tank. Around £100 new.
I was just thinking how germ laden most car interiors are and thought "this is the answer" but I now see how anti microbial products might be a better way forward for that specific purpose so thanks again for a really informative video. Have a great Christmas and New Year.
Great video again Heather. Had been thinking of getting one so bought one yesterday. In Ireland these are €190 new. While this will be a great tool for my car cleaning routine it also is very handy for different jobs around the house. Looking forward to the next video.
On a really dirty seat, like a barn find, would you recommend, drill brush 10/1 fabric cleaner, steam, then extraction, or extraction, then steam, or no need for both, in my head utilising a bit of heat would help a lot on baked in 20 year old stains. Cheers great vid
Hello Heather, just like to wish you and your family a happy Christmas and New year, and also for your fantastic dedication to the detailing world, I have picked up some great tips from your videos, thank you so much
Congrats on your purchase Heather . Here in the states, the McCulloch 1275 is a popular choice for delailers. However, it requires distilled water. So your unit offers a big advantage
Interesting choice, and great price. I was looking at a dupray neat steamer earlier in the year, just forbthe car, which has a welded steam tank, which seemed better, but I can't beat that price
I am planning to buy it by the end of this year. I was waiting in case there will be some Christmas discounts but I doubt it. I will get it in Bauhaus which offers 5 year warranty...
Great video as always Heather, i was looking at buying a steamer, i was going to buy the sc2 but now im definitely buying the sc3, i hope you and all your family have a wonderful Christmas and New year
Thanks for watching. With this SC3 model you just get a new one of those cartridges. I think they need replacing every 75 hours approximately www.karcher-center-chemtec.co.uk/karcher-sc-descaler-cartridge-1003-p.asp
Beware, I live in the US and found out the US version has a 1450 Watt boiler heater. The European version has a 1900 Watt heater. 450 Watts IS a big deal when generating steam. Somewhat disappointed in my US version. It's ok but...I noticed that steam generation pulses high/low as the H2O holding tank and pump transfers water to the boiler. I think KARCHER could have done better. ps... you need to run at least 3-4 tank fulls of H2O through the machine' cartridge in order to prime the steamers cartridge.
Another great review Heather. Think I'll take the plunge and add one of these to my kit. Your channel is a real boost to both pro's and week end end warriors alike. Still loving the review style, and the fact its real world, experience you share. As a fellow pro, I've never yet regretted purchasing anything you have recommended. I am struggling with a number of Ford Rangers that have come off lease atm, which have been worked as road crew and are caked in mud, am going through TFR like crazy. My favourite Crudzilla does the job but is not cost effective for this volume of trucks. Any recommendations greatly appreciated!!
Thank you! I really appreciate that kind words and I’m glad you’re happy with the purchases! Have you tried Koch Chemie Greenstar as a pre-wash? It’s very cheap and works well at 1:5 to 1:20 depending on the dirt level
@@AutoCareHQ Actually I am a big GS fan, but the stuff in the arches and on the chassis rails is stuck hard, I am presuming its got some kind of concrete it there! I shouldn't have taken this fleet on but did i so as a favour for a Main Dealer. I've used Nielson L826 before on 4x4's with great success, but struggling to find a local supply right now. I've done 9 of the 16 of them! Will report back if i find a wonder cure!
Thanks for watching :) I wouldn't put anything other than water in the steamer itself but I've seen some people spray the chemical onto the surface first and then agitate with the steamer for a deeper clean
Hi Heather I hope you are well and congrats for your new steamer and I want to tell you Merry Christmas and Happy New Year always with your Family, Best wishes 🇨🇦🙏🎄🎄
Great post and very interesting. Feels like probably an accessory too far for your own car if you keep it pretty clean anyway but can definitely see the value to you
Another good video Heather. I’ve had a little portable handheld steam cleaner for years that I’ve got out on occasions but it is limited in use. Maybe I should think about a dedicated and better one. Anyway Merry Christmas to you and yours.
I'm currently looking to buy a steam cleaner for my car. I have also found a lot of comments recommending Karcher but I've generally had a bad experience with them long ago with other products so I'm quite hesistant to go for them. Plus I don't find them to be making good car detailing products, just run of the mill general work products, which instantly makes you realise why they gave you a brush with very stiff bristles. Same reason they have idiotic products like brush heads for their power washers in order to supposedly wash the car more easily. So I'm looking for alternative brands. I was wondering if you had any recommendations if you had looked into other brands aside from Karcher for a good steam cleaner ? Thanks.
Great channel. Have you found any problems with using the steamer on leather seats and steering wheels? Have a good Holiday Season and please keep making these videos
Recently purchased sc3 and I had the same problem as you in that every time I pressed the button it would squirt a jet of water before turning to steam and this happened every time if the time span was longer than say 30 seconds before pressing the trigger again so I returned my unit
For really dirty interiors…is it feasible to spray cleaner on the surface first…and then use the steam cleaner to sort of agitate and spread the product before coming back with a microfiber to mop up the excess??
Good video Heather. I've thought of buying one of these myself. Must be good for engine bays where you don't want loads of water to clean it safely. *Congrats on the 25k subscribers. 💁🏻♀️🎉

I purchased this steamer a year ago for the exact reasons you mentioned. A decent affordable option.
I try to use the steamer as much as possible in my full interior detail package. It saves a a lot of time and make the job easier.
