Thanks Dave! It’s a really great place to drone, since it’s so open. 18 Road is easy, but it sure is fun! We did Kokopelli / Horsethief Bench for the first time and that was our favorite ride in the area.
Word travels fast, haha. The stock wheels are just so heavy and the hub engagement is extremely lacking. We'd probably go with an alloy rim, ~30 width. Have you seen Spank Hex hubs? 3.5 deg engagement for $200, sounds pretty promising! What are your recommendations?
@@ActsofAdventure how much do you want to spend, lol! I’d go with a lighter alloy rim like a Race Face ARC and a DT 350 hub with a 36t ratchet. 15 ga spokes and alloy nipples. Then mount some lighter 2.3-2.5” tires and go rip!
Fun drone shots! Been a few years since I’ve hit 18 road 😢

@@ActsofAdventure if you can’t have fun at 18 road your mtb card should be revoked
I heard Alix is looking for a new rear wheel... alloy or carbon? What width? I recommend a 2.35 to 2.5 tire to save weight 😬

@@ark6959 Thanks for the recs! Once we buy a house and furnish it and get Connor a new bike then we can upgrade this wheel. 🤑😅
@@ActsofAdventure I heard you were house shopping! I think a wheel would be cheaper lol!
