    You can use water pump for up and down steering.

      @@notdolphin343 just use them as directional thrusters. They will be lowpowered tho.

    Is there any way to modify it to Bluetooth? I want to become a marine biologist one day

    • @Science.Buddies
      @Science.Buddies  Місяць тому

      We don't have our own video, but if you search online you can find many Bluetooth tutorials for Arduino. Note that you may need to build a surface vehicle because the Bluetooth signal will probably not penetrate underwater. Note that we do have a radio-controlled boat version of this project if you want wireless control: ua-cam.com/video/B6w-RKSVKLU/v-deo.htmlsi=9OucNwepfQ22XlLW

      This version is connected with a tether (really long wires). We have a radio-controlled boa version here but this one won't work underwater: ua-cam.com/video/B6w-RKSVKLU/v-deo.htmlsi=SW4CA8jFfxYyCQgI. Both projects have parts lists and instructions linked in the description.

    yeah its great but I want other feasible ways to signal transmission from arduino uno to the motors and in between i am using a relay module. i am out ways and plus I don't have that much budget to afford a a goo Tx and Rx do you guys have any ideas kindly share. thanks.

    • @Science.Buddies
      @Science.Buddies  5 місяців тому

      This took me a couple days to build and test, but it will depend on your level of Arduino experience and how long you need to let the silicone sealant cure.

    It's a pity that I saw your video so late, I am working on a Seaperch but I think your project is a bit better for my application, because I want to sail down the rivers with the rov about 1 to 2 meters deep. I do have a question, would it be possible to use an Android smartphone as a camera and a tablet as a monitor, and view them via Bluetooth and the Alfred program app? I used a 15 meter cable for the controller and the smartphone. is in a waterproof cover. can you help me with that

    • @Science.Buddies
      @Science.Buddies  11 місяців тому

      Hi - unfortunately we aren't familiar with the Alfred app, and of course it's a lot riskier floating a phone that costs hundreds of dollars down the river than a $30 Arduino. This would also depend on the range of the Bluetooth connection, which in theory should work for a surface vehicle, but if your ROV is 1-2 meters deep then I don't think the Bluetooth signal would work underwater. Hope that helps!

    • @erwinmeyvaert9769
      @erwinmeyvaert9769 11 місяців тому +1

      Thank you for responding to my question, and I also think your ROV is very handy and nicely built. The smartphone is an old model that is at least 10 years old, so no problem if it breaks, I will have to test it myself because I can't find a clear explanation anywhere, no problem, so we learn something.

      See the link in the description for a materials list with links to parts - prices will depend on what country you're in and what vendors you order from.

    This is increadbly Nice! Im thinking of starting a BIO RC Club next year for my High School and Wanted to know if I can make this out of PVC Pipes and have all the arduinos and wires all above water and just have the trusters and their wires in the contrainer?

    • @Science.Buddies
      @Science.Buddies  11 місяців тому

      Hi - do you mean keeping the Arduino completely out of the water and as part of the handheld controller, or mounting the Arduino on top of the ROV so it's above the surface of the water? Either way, the answer is yes, although putting the Arduino on top of the ROV without any waterproof enclosure is risky in case it tips over or if there's any splashing. We also have a radio-controlled version of this project that you might want to check out: ua-cam.com/video/B6w-RKSVKLU/v-deo.htmlsi=rUH7nM4cRJhsBl9m

      @@Science.Buddies as part of the handheld controller. And is it possible If I can make the rov go down underwater? as it is something Im wanting to make. IF possible can you make a video? if not can you give exact instructions.

    • @Science.Buddies
      @Science.Buddies  11 місяців тому

      Hi - yes, you can make the ROV go underwater, either by attaching weights to it so it skims along the bottom of a pool, or designing it to be neutrally buoyant and adding a third motor to help it steer up and down. Unfortunately we can't give exact instructions for this beyond what's already in the project, but make sure you click the link in the description for more detailed information on our website. By following that and our Arduino tutorials you should be able to figure it out. However, if you are considering starting a club for your high school, you may want to consider the SeaPerch program instead - it is an ROV kit but includes competitions you can travel to as a team: seaperch.org/
