Oh yes, recall going on the Kuranda Train from Cairns To Kuranda and back to Cairns and also the Gondola where you can see the rainforest above. This was in April, 2001 during school holidays while visiting PNG families who were living in Redlynch. 😊🌞👍💪🎊
I think it was around 2002 when I first found out about the Gondola and couldn't wait to try it, which I think happened about 2005. I have a friend that's worked there for years!
wow. Awesome vlog, the train journey looks so impressive with scenic views. The boat cruise looks so much much. Cable car ride is fascinating, specially the view from the top looks awesome.
It's a lovely day out this one... I've had friends talk to me about driving up on their own but I'll convince them the train and the skyrail make the journey 😁😁👍
So glad you liked it... I have a whole series in cairns and north...even green island and other things to do in cairns...make sure you check them out 👍
So glad you liked it and thanks for the comment. I have plenty of blogs to help with booking and other details, but feel free to ask if you have questions. 👍👍 I have about 10 or so videos from this area, so check them out if you looking for more things to do. Hope you have a blast here in Queensland 💖
Really nice adventure, Chris! Awesome that they serve up some food and drink on the train. That colourful bird was super cool. I don't know how much I'd like the glass bottom of the gondola. :P Really nice flow to this video. I enjoyed it. Thanks for bringing me along! Cheers!
Glad you enjoyed the ride Nate... it was a nice addition to my collection and loved putting it together. This was my second time up the mountain but first time filming. Great that I saw even more this time too.... the photos were from last visit 👍
Hi Chris, great work on the episode 🙌 it is full of really great suggestions...and footage of the animals. I would want to do and see it all! The views from the Skyrail were gorgeous 😍 I really like that the bottom was glass.
Only every 10 gondolas has a glass floor and was part of our gold class experience...so that was really awesome to get and a lovely addition. The whole day was amazing and we managed to do different things to last time Thanks for watching guys 😁👍
Hi there love this video of Kuranda Train and sky rail. Was last in Cairns in April 2001 visiting some family members from PNG and went one train and sky rail. Scary experience.
This looked like such a fun outing! Gold Class, sounds fancy! 😝 That turn on the train where you can see the entire train looks so cool! The town of Koranda looked very cute, I’d buy some indigenous art for sure. That flightless bird reminds me of something that would have been around in Jurassic Park for some reason… lol. Loved this episode Chris! Ooh! The butterflies 🦋 the glass bottom on the gondola would be both awesome and scary for me!
Hey guys...how are you going? Thanks a bunch for watching the start of my north Queensland series and my last road trip. We were having a very spoiled day with gold class and the glass bottom gondola... it's all about the journey and it's a lovely day out for sure. The cassowary do look like something our of a Jurassic movie...in fact they get very agile when provoked and attack... but that's like most the Aussie animals I guess...🤣🤣... UA-cam is bound to have some of those videos...lol.
Thank you for this - you are the ONLY person I have come across after a lot of searching to state the *actual* travel time from start to finish (my husband was panicking a little about how much actual time you spend inside the cable car, and this helps us tremendously in planning our travel!). So if you took the cablecar both ways and didn't want to go exploring on one of the directions, do they still make you get off and then line up again or can you just stay out, do you know? Thanks again and will check out your other videos :-)
Hi there and thanks so much for the lovely comment. 😀 There is a midway station where you are forced to get off and change tracks... this is where the rainforest walk is. Apart from that, I would allocate extra time to line up, and bookings to ride are made within an hourly period.... so I'm expecting they will force you to get off and line up again. That and they give the cart a wipe down and sanitise before the new people get on. With that said... if your visiting in a slow period, I'm sure they would get you stay on, but only if others aren't lined up waiting..... But you will still need to get off midway and line up to change tracks.
@@anguscovoflyer95 marine land is on green island and while I do have a video on that...the croc show was booked out when we got there and only filmed the outside and the reception shop. I do mention the largest croc in Australia being housed there and a picture

The extra things did make it worth it...more comfy seats on the train and the glass bottom gondola. The service was nice too and some really helpful staff. I did the general class last time but can't remember being too squashed in... we might have visited at a less busy time though
@@AquariusTraveller general class was really busy - especially on the afternoon train back to Cairns. At least half the people can’t get a window seat. New subs here.

@@AquariusTraveller yes, I did the gondola up and the train back.
