I don't understand the negative comments from you, I have Makita, DeWalt, Bosch and Parkside drills and I find the parkside gear ok, it's cheap so I don't expect it to be built like the expensive gear. Get over yourself.

Thanks for the review. I wanted to replace my old Bosch with this one, because I use it less often, and batteries for old Bosch models are also becoming difficult to buy. However, when I saw a compressed power cord, I changed my mind. I'd better look for a battery for the old instrument.

Back in the day Einhell use to make the tools for Parkside, but at some point I guess the supermarket brand went to a cheaper manufacturer. Coincidentally the quality took a serious dive when that happened and FB is now full of Parkside tools crashing and burning. Especially the "Performance" range.
I still have my 10.8V Parkside drill, a million years old. Rebuilt the battery pack twice, the casing is beat up, but everything works perfectly. Bought a brand new Parkside 20V drill for a friend last year and the clutch is already slipping (it's only been used for 10 small woodscrews).

      Wow, that's bad.
I have been thinking of buying a drill, after I bought one from Skil that has 7nm and it's pretty much useless.
I thought about Parkside but from what I've read here, maybe it's not the best option.
Do you think that it is still a good buy or should I spend more money?
I am looking at a Black and Decker that costs 140€ on Leroy Merlin or a Dewalt that costs 200€, both with 2x 2A batteries and charger.
I'd consider this Parkside if it was any good, but if it's not that reliable I'd rather go "all-in" and buy something that will last a lifetime like the Dewalt.

I'd love to have this drill because I like the Parkside brand but never got a chance of buying one. They're more expensive over here, around £40-45 but they fly off the shelf first thing in the morning and then they're sold (at a higher price of course) on FB marketplace, online ads and such... and I definitely don't want to support that kind of behavior, speculation.

I have this drill. However, I lent it to my brother a couple of months ago and it has never been right since. Anyway, it finally stopped working last night. The LED is still working. But I think the motor just crapped itself or something 🤷
All I was doing was drilling through some plastic.
Any ideas of what might be wrong/any helpful advice?

Hi Robin, does it smell weird at all when you pull the trigger (out of the little vent holes) Usually when the motor is burned out it gives a distinctive plastic burning smell. Does it make any noise at all when you push the trigger? (high frequency buzz or beep) You could try the following few things. If you have access to compressed air, blow the back of the drill out, so any dirt/ dust gets blown out of the brushes & motor, give it a gentle tap in case one of the brushes got dislocated and is not making good contact. (This could happen if the drill got dropped by accident at any point) If you want you could send it me an i'll have a look and see what's wrong. Could make for an interesting video.

@@toolteardown no smell and no noise. I may try the compressed air or open it up and just check the wiring.

@@toolteardown Can't even open it up cos the screws have a weird tread on them. So, back to Lidl it goes and hopefully I'll get my money back. It's not even that old. I've had it for 6 months maybe.

@@toolteardown if they don't take it back/I don't get my money back. Then I can send it on to you to take a look at if you like. But if you do manage to fix it I'd like it back please 😂 Just because it came with a bunch of accessories and bits, so I'd like to keep it to be honest. I'm in Ireland and the whole thing cost me like 70 euro.

The Parkside X20v Team batteries don't have under or over voltage protection built-in, this leaves the battery cut off electronics to be housed in the device it is attached to. Unless the switch assembly has this built-in then the combination of this drill and team battery has no under voltage protection. If correct, when the battery drains down it would easily take the Lipo battery voltage below the min safe voltage and would damage the cells. A quick look at other Parkside drill teardowns shows a small PCB in the drill handle with electronics to cut the battery off when they are depleted, but not this drill.

I did not buy mine in the UK, so I was not sure what Lidl in the UK was charging for them. Turns out the info I found was wrong and the actual retail price is £ 19.99 not £ 39.99 in the UK. Apologies everybody!

Многие клоуны-обзорщики (слесари-гинекологи) с умным видом начинают крутить в руках и крутить в доску, даже не понимая те технические аспекты, которые и являются главными.

For the Teardown of the tool I don’t think I need the battery. If I was to test it as part of the video, absolutely. But I think there are plenty of others out on UA-cam who got the testing of these things covered.
I don’t generally include a Teardown of the battery to explore the build quality and inner workings of the tools on this channel.
