Fun video. 🙂 One thing I noticed you didn’t try with Clown is, before you kick the pallets, quickly drop a yellow bottle on yourself. Then when they Blind you you get both the gas speed buff and the Shadowborn buff stacking! 🏎️
you could just dumb tech, and gain the 10% speed, nuffifying the shadowborn.
also the yellow gas bleeds thru pallets.
@@guzuv You can't dumb tech a broken pallet, and if you jump the pallet immediately you won't get the gas buff because it takes a bit for it to activate. And if you wait to try the dumb tech then you lost your chance to blind the killer.

Dumb tech is for killers get stunned and immediately vault towards them hoping they "swing"
So...if you try to dumb tech on the yellow bottle...which takes 2 seconds from white to yellow gas...your just gonna get hit or grabbed

@@guzuv That doesn't sound like it's a good idea because If i recall correctly as a killer main, dumb tech is vaulting the pallet into the killer. that usually results in a hit, and if their occupying the space of the cloud with you, they'll be getting a speed boost as well, and their close proximity to you would probably mean a hit unless the auto-aim messes the killer up. correct me if im wrong though, im a little bit unfamiliar with some survivor terminologies.
@@guzuvyou do know why dumb tech is called dumb tech right? Any killer that isnt stupid will just walk back and hit you, this only works if you have lithe or the killer has ho enduring

Nemesis + Game Afoot + Shadowborn + Two Can Play. The person you are chasing becomes the obsession when they blind you or stun you with a pallet, and breaking a pallet while chasing the obsession gives you a 5% movement speed boost. You gain an additional 10% from being blinded with Shadowborn, and the survivor gets blinded as well.
You do this on infinite t3 myers and you can see the sheer amount of hatred in the chat after the match 😂

I think some people have a hard time understanding how great this perk just became, if youre a 110% killer and you get 10% more speed youre catching up 2x faster then usual basicaly reducing the survivors distance by half for the next 10 seconds

Legion could potentially be the best SB user, especially if you can time the pallet vault with getting blinded. (A clasdic legion technique)
But yeah I love this change to shadowborn, any perk that gets a survivor to think twice about blinding, but doesn't completely shut down flashlights is pretty alright imo.
@@rabbidguarddog As someone else who's used it a fair amount, i find it preferable to lightborn. I mean sure, there will be those survivors that blind soley for flash-saves, but it can be punishing even then and there depending on the scenario, and god forbid you combine it successfully with something like starstruck to punish altruistic survivors as a whole and be Agressive against their altruism (haven't tried this yet, may try it soon if not today to see how it goes.)

I used it today with brutal strength and game afoot. You can easily follow the survivors by using sound.

would’ve loved to see you throw down a speed potion where u break a pallet that way you’d break the pallet get blinded and get speed from the potion and from light born!

If Legion was blinded during Frenzy, he will not have his normal Frenzy fatigue and is able to do a normal M1 immeditately, which can help him secure a quick down.

Lightborn would cancel out Shadowborn. You actually have to be BLINDED for shadow born to take effect, not just shined a light on you.
with clown it would have been good to use a speed bottle before breaking pallets, then you'd get double the speed
Combine Shadowborn with the hex perk that blinds them when they stun or blind you
That stupid perk only blinds them for 1.5 seconds. Useless.

Hmm, probably doesnt work, BUT:
When using Lightborn, survivors can still score blinded events, meaning the game registers the blind (which may also tell the game to then give you the aura reading part of lightborn)
Given dbd’s janky ass spaghetti code, it may very well still just count as a blind, so my question is: could you run both lightborn and shadowborn together to gain haste and aura reading on a “blinded” event? 🤔
As i said, probably doesnt work, they may have differentiated the blind event on lightborn under the hood, but im still curious all the same lol

I think it's great that Shadow Born is now base kit, (POV SLIDER) and so the Devs looked at Shadow Born and were like: "Well we added a POV slider so Shadow Born is useless...Hm...I know, let's reward the killer for being blinded!" I love it! Now I'm willing to bet a lot of killers who see flashlights will probably pick shadow-born or light-born now. Ofc survivors will probably complain and say its OP ofc but-

Would this be good to run with Hex Two Can Play? You’re getting stunned and blindsided on purpose anyway and with the speed boost you can easily catch survivors running blindly into to walls.
what about a shadowborn, hex: two can play, StBFL, and rapid brutality?
Using Hex two can play is an interesting idea, but i feel like there's just better hex perks as a whole. i dont recall the blind for survivors being nearly that long compared to being blinded as killer from what the perk says though i could be wrong. I can't speak on rapid brutality because i've never got to try it. and while i haven't tried hex: two can play, i can also tell that it's a bit more gimmicky and less practical in the grand scheme of things, as survivors as a whole are less disrupted by being blinded then killers are; killers as a whole get hurt by being blinded more.
I run shadow on billy because I just switched to pc and have no one and they do not like it💀

Sort of. Alan Wake perk gives you -20 speed while Shadowborn gives you +10.
In theory, if you're a 115% Killer, you'll be 105% for 6 seconds, then 125% for the last 4.
In practice, I haven't been able to test it out to see if that's actually the case.

@@blckorb6322 I legitimately haven't taken Lightborn off since Blast Mine was added to the game.
You still take the stun for kicking a trapped gen, but after said stun you can look around and find the SOB who put it there (unless they have Distortion).
@@blckorb6322 This is the correct veiwpoint in my humble opinion. note that it's moreso a soft counter in the sense that you lose less distance. not that you get a hit. in that Sense, it doesn't nullify or take away from the True Effectiveness of the perk and in that veiwpoint, is not a counter. think of it more as a cushion to the blow that is Champion of light, Alan wake's perk.

Does lightborn and shadowborn even work together? You need to be blinded for one and the other prevents you from being blinded.

Lightborn is much better. You get free hits and they don't get points for the stun. Also no one gets saved while being carried. I know you know this. Just reiterating the points.
Saying it's "Much better" seems a little close Minded. i think they both have their up's and downs. this is my current personal opinion on them.
Shadowborn: Shadowborn is more *Agressive* then Lightborn. It's best used when survivors flashlight you at pallets, though it in theory (i will be testing later today probably) Can be Synergized with other perks such as starstruck to punish survivors that save their Allies with flashlights. Haste is Powerful on Killers, and getting the same haste as machine learning for 1/3rd of the time *Every* time your blinded is nothing to scoff at. this is best used in my humble opinion to Be as Agressive as possible and create high amounts of Preassure on the enemy team and punish altruistic plays, allowing them to happen for a chance/pursuit of equal or greater benefit.
Lightborn: Lightborn is more *Defensive* then Lightborn. it's Best Used when you would rather confirm Hooks/Hook stages, as Sabotage plays are often Less Common and more punishing, making flashlights the common option for saves. Running lightborn will prevent a good portion of altruistic plays, letting you continue your match Uninterupted. It also indirectly prevent's effects such as Blast mine, Residual manifest, and champion of Light. However, it does not give you any more Offensive Preassure then you already had if no one were to go for the save. this is best used in my humble opinion to Defend yourself from Disruptive survivor plays and perks or to Eliminate Perceived killer weaknesses (For example, you Can't blind a leigon out of their power if you can't blind a leigon).
As a whole, I trained myself to function and win games often without slowdown perks (I do lose without them sometimes, but it's almost ALWAYS an intentional gen-rush/Greed confirmed by the players i lose too themselfs), and so i prefer the More Agressive perks such as Shadowborn, Starstruck, Enduring, Bamboozle, Blood favor, No way out, Mad Grit/Iron Maiden, Etc. but, some may prefer the more Defensive/Regressive perks such as Lightborn, Corrupt intervention, Deadlock, Pain Resoance, Etc. Ultimatley, the Upsides of BOTH are strong, and in my personal, humble opinion, they should be of equal Value, with the choosen perk more dependant on the build, playstyle, and intention of the player.
