Hey Lydia, I'm planning a trip to Australia for a few weeks and was wondering if you would have advice/tips or ideas about locations, pricing and hotels for 2 to 3 people? ❤️
wee question about paying rent upfront, what happens if you guys had to leave Aus suddenly for whatever reason? Like if god forbid something happened to family back home etc Do you lose all the rent paid upfront? Just seems like a huge commitment of estate agents to ask from you in case something happened suddenly and you had to leave!❤
Yes, regardless of if upfront rent is involved or not, when signing the lease you’ve committed to a contract of however long. So if we were to leave, we’d probably have to find someone to take over the lease and pay back those first 3 months to us directly, then the remainder in a usual direct debit to the landlord x
It wasn’t requested, we offered it, so not sure if that still applies? We went through a reputable estate agent so I doubt they would have went ahead with it if it was illegal x
Hi Lydia! Thank you so much for all the info, so helpful!! I was wondering, do you know if it's possible to get a job in Sydney before having moved there, after having gotten the visa? (or even before having gotten the visa?) Since that would be less financially risky for me - I'm a UK citizen and would be getting my first working holiday visa like you :))
I imagine it could be possible, but lots of the jobs I was applying for had in-person interviews as part of the recruitment process, so that’s the only thing that might potentially get in the way x
Most of these people making these videos haven't been anywhere near the real Australia or suburbs. There are coffee shops open in Brisbane till 9pm in various locations till 5-6pm. It sounds like she's never left the city circle.
@@lydiavioleta_ Of course I hope so for your sake. The not wanting to come to the apartment viewings and not being there to help move is telling. I'm glad you have a proper job now so you can avoid just following Sid around the world, with his career being largely unaffected. He also comes over very sulky. You deserve better Lydia.
This video came at THE PERFECT TIME- moving for a few next month!

In NSW, it's illegal for landlords or agents to request any rent in advance more than 2 weeks. Just saying this so others are aware.

@@e4mi Dude you realised we both watched the same vlog. Did your parents never teach you that other people will have different opinions to yours?
