Happy Flashback Friday! Where were you in 1968?
I was born in 2005
..Being born. Awesome channel👏🏼
Здравствуйте, дорогой Хампердинк! Я окончила в 1968 году школу. Спасибо! 🙋♀️💅💓💝🌞🌹🌷🌸🌺🌟🌹🙌
We love your tracks❤️
I was 9 yrs old living in Chattanooga, Tennessee probably playing house and you were my husband and Daddy to my baby dolls 😉😂❤
An era when you could still understand the singer's lyrics clearly! 😂
Yea 🤗
Tell me you are 78 without telling me you are 78
Old music > modern rap bullshit
@@Freindlyneigbourhoodspidey and crappy kpoop too
@@BlackCrimsoN21 all modern music, I just used rap as a "stereotype" of modern music cause that's what most "people" listen to
I happened on this recording and to my utter surprise, I recognized myself as one of the extras behind Engelbert in the first part of the video. I was a school kid in Monte Carlo back in 1968 and they asked me and some of my classmates to be extras for the recording for an upcoming TV special. I had told the story to my family for many years, never knowing that there was an actual recording of that day and that I was in it. I am the seemingly disinterested 15-year-old guy to the right of Humperdinck in the first 15 seconds or so.
You walked with greatness obliviously.... Right on man 👍
Сколько солнца в этом голосе!!!
Damn, that's lucky!
So was he singing with music or just lip syncing in front of you all ? interesting to know how they did music videos those days :)
@@judejay2971 He was lip-syncing. And we had been standing there for quite some time before they got that take they wanted. Perhaps that is why we didn't look all that enthusiastic!

With a name like Engelbert Humperdinck, who could forget him?
Only true musicians and lovers of a truly great voice can appreciate this. Time long past.
I grew up listening to him in the 70's. Music now is horrible. I heard this song in a polish deli and I couldn't leave without hearing the song till the end❤

No autotune, no multitracking. Just a singer with a really good voice and a lot of control. It's epic and nothing can take that away.
No multitracking?
You know that technique has been used since the Beatles right?
You can hear his layered (multitracking) voice clearly when he's singing the chorus
We don't look for old songs, we look for the memories they carry🤩
there is both autotune and multitracking here.
@@Daniel-yo5es autotune didn't even existed in that time, autotune is from 1997, and the song is from 1968

I can remember when we walked together
Sharing a love I thought would last forever
Moonlight to show the way so we can follow
Waiting inside her eyes was my tomorrow
Then something changed her mind, her kisses told me
I had no loving arms to hold me
Every day I wake up, then I start to break up
Lonely is a man without love
Every day I start out, then I cry my heart out

I cannot face this world that's fallen down on me
So if you see my girl, please send her home to me
Tell her about my heart that's slowly dying
Say I can't stop myself from crying

As someone who is born in '82, I have to admit that, although everyone's nostalgic about the 80's and the 90's and even the 70's, nothing can beat the 50's and the 60's, those were the very best times, the greatest era of the past century in everything, movies, songs, etc. My generation's parents were truly blessed!

Anyone asked?
He is a loveable singer of mine from 18yrs age n now i m 74 yrs n still he is. God bless🙏
thank you moon knight for bringing this song back to the world.
I can hear and see the record player in my home as a child. My mom loved you, and I saw you on tv and prayed until exhaustion, with a child's innocence, on my knees, that I wanted to sing too. Singing is such a happiness in life, and I hope that more and more people sing at home, in the car, in the shower, in the kitchen! Just sing. I started to sing along with this, and all the words came back perfectly as if I had just heard it yesterday instead of 50 years ago. My mother is gone now, but when I hear this song, I can see the beautiful young girl she was with her long brown hair, and the sweet mystery that she loved both you and my father. :-)
The Utter power in this man's voice is total unbelievable.....
My god could this fella belt a song out. What a voice.
I wasn't born yet. But l'm here and very happy to have met a sublime artist like you....
Whether you came here from watching moon knight or you’re a long time listener, I think we can all agree that is such a great song

I loved his music since I can remember. 35 later when he recorded this beautiful piece!! I was only 18 yo and my colleagues did not understand why I love his music. The reality is that good música transcendent time and space!! Engelbert Humperdinck forever!!
*One of my favorite songs of all times, it had topped the charts, just as we arrived to Britain in 1968, l was only eight but suddenly felt like l was 18, we had settled in the town of Leicestershire Engleberts home town.*
*Almost everywhere we went that week, this song played non stop! from morning till late, l loved it, loved him and how fabulous he was, and has been through the years.*
*Then ofcource there was Elvis Presley with his swiveling hips, l was blushing, and then Tom Jones the same, now he knew how to dance, all three of them were such great artists, hard to decide which your favorite was, it had to be Englebert, no, no, l tell a lie it was Elvis, nope...it was Tom Jones, they were all sensational artists, as great as each other and l could'nt make my mind up!*
You have absolutely great taste in men and music💞

Dean Martin, Frank Sinatra, Nat King Cole, Elvis Presley, Herb Alpert & The Tijuana Brass, Johnny Rivers, Tom Jones, Engelbert Humperdinck, Paul Mauriat & His Orchestra Blooming Hits, Johnny Cash, Marty Robbins and Glen Campbell. These were the first Singers and Music Records my Parents played at my first Family Home in the 1960's. I think 1969 was the last year I heard them. Then the Bubblegum, Pop, K-Tel and Classic Rock stuff I played more of in the 1970's as I entered Teenage and Adulthood years.

This kind of music is so much better than the modern pop music, this just shows that even if a song is old, it doesn't mean that it would just be enjoyed by old people or people in that era. Maybe my music taste is just crappy, I don't know
