that is a good saving tip - another tip comes from the banking world - and is a known fact that the number of times a person's uses the atm for cash withdrawal - is in direct correlation to his spending - meaning if your budget is $1000 a month - it is always good to take it out in one withdrawal - and not for example $100 at a time - most people will end up withdrawing between 10%- 15% more in a month - and will go over budget .
Hello guys, 😊 Luke is right the less you go shopping the more you save! One avoids buying the extra stuff and much less gasoline one wastes with the car! Stock up !!! Take care 🇨🇦 🌷Sam
🤣🤣 yes we thought we did pretty well too x x x I am so out of practice looking for stuff i need or want as you know i never leave the land 🤣🤣 but i must say i spent an hour yesterday looking at things on amazon and really enjoyed adding things to the list .Thanks so much for suggesting it x x x
Thanks Luke and Sarah for sharing your yearly budget, I would say it's tempting to retire to portugal as UK a lot more expensive. Utilities alone are sky high. vet bills for my dog and cat have increased. Thanks for your tips. 💚
I agree go shopping less in a month. I have our bulk food delivered, then once a week I get the odd thing.I have bulk shop, just in case… I eat more in the summer… in the winter I make lots of stews and casseroles, comforting food. Who does the shopping ? Do you go and buy the animals food.
well you use a lot less on food soap etc. than I do... expensive here... and no garden so no "help" with "free food" from the garden... but thats a good budget not extravagant but living a happy life :D with wonderful animals
Not bad at all for a whole year's expenses, especially with you having many animals as well! I know I spend more money on my cat than myself, what with cat food, vet bills, pet insurance etc 😕 . But then, I AM his servant, after all 😁 🤔
That's not bad considering! Loved this, for the future! He is so funny. Sarah, I cut my own hair to, but with a cosmetology scissors and not waking at it. I cracked up laughing. My family hates that I cut my own hair!! And there's a hair cut place is about 1.75 miles from home. LOL. 🙏❤🇺🇸🇵🇹⛵👣😊
There was a couple of hundred for the digger which we included with the projects total but we calculated from July 2021 to June 2022 so the majority of the digger expenses will be in next years breakdown of costs. We could ask to have our road fixed but it will take years if they even agree to have it does as it does not lead anywhere.
You guys have done so well keeping the cost down on your project - inflation has been a total killer for us :( ho well, what comes around goes around they say!
Very good info! Ya know, if we consider how prices of fuel, every living thing's food, building materials, etc., have risen so much... altho your yearly exornditures have increased by 700€, you probably spent less money than previous years! I think it's bc of the infrastructure you and your blessed volunteers, put in to date, having a flourishing garden, and your ongoing + increased conservation efforts with energy/fuel, etc. You HAVE had more visitors, you DO have more animals. Had prices not risen so steeply, i think you expenditures might have been less than previous years 😳. Speaking of transformation, i saw in Iwan & Carissa's boulder excursion video how after the long drive along the public track that your place appears like a hidden oasis saying "Bem Vindo" before we even see its sign: your cheery house, well-cared-for and lush garden
We run the irrigation off the solar but still need to use the pump we have to get the water to where we need it , the bluetti is not powerful enough for what we need
We didn't preserve anything last year unfortunately so we could have spent less and food includes amenities and booze but we have ways of keeping food costs down which we will share with you soon
We are not in a high risk fire area and haven't heard anything but it doesn't sound true because the more inhabitants to a place the clearer the land around that area will be , which I would imagine will result in a lower fire risk
Not rude at all Julie😁 For now chickens are for eggs, goats are for milk and the little pigs we are going to try gleying which is the process of sealings ponds with their poo
We don't grow everything and food includes all the amenities ,and dog and cat food too we sometimes buy batteries ,clothes and other stuff that we do not eat because we buy all these from the supermarket we count it all as food .We could spend less for sure but not that much and because Luke is a chef we do eat really well 😁😁
@@lukeandsarahsoffgridlife Yes, and you work really hard to maintain your healthy nature reserve and your animals! They hosted A LOT more visitors this year, too.
I know this is a bit rude to ask, what about income, and income streams, I ask because,as I believe, I need a €10000 income pa for a d7 visa, I'm racking my brain, I understand if I can't share this, thank you

That is a great tip although we never really withdraw money from the ATM anymore

Wow Ruth thanks you so much for this lovely message ❤️and yes I do feel we did much better with our spending's this year
Could you find an electric pump that could run off the bluetti or maybe a cheap solar setup for the irrigation?
We run the irrigation off the solar but still need to use the pump we have to get the water to where we need it , the bluetti is not powerful enough for what we need
Bom dia, Sarah and Luke. Como vão as aulas de português???? Torcendo muito 💚
Tudo ótimo aqui, mas lento😁
Great info, cheap on food though, is that because you grow food yourself, how much in percentage would you think?
We didn't preserve anything last year unfortunately so we could have spent less and food includes amenities and booze but we have ways of keeping food costs down which we will share with you soon
Ok❤
You have very happy animals.
Thanks Jennifer x x
yeah it's so fun to see and Meatball was really seeking attention today :D
@@LiLBitsDK It's so sweet to have a male farm animal so affectionate with his Mommy 😍.
Do you know if it is true that in 2023 there will be no more renovation permits issued in high risk fire areas?
We are not in a high risk fire area and haven't heard anything but it doesn't sound true because the more inhabitants to a place the clearer the land around that area will be , which I would imagine will result in a lower fire risk

10000 a year income is very low, most countries you get more than that in pension especially if you saved up yourself too and such.
We are not here on a D7 visa so we can't really help and for income I guess it depends what you do so we can't offer anything there either
Haha hope the camera survived
Yes it did thanks x x
How do you earn.
