Oh, man! That guy's receiving way more acknowledgment than he deserves. I blocked him from UA-cam's algorithm ages ago for putting out too much negativity in this community. Probably his dog hates him too...
Some people will delve in negativity and get angry about things they can't change in the first place. That's their decision to make. Here's another expensive Open Baffle Speaker: Joseph Crowe No. 1695 (beautifully CNC machined solid wood baffle, 15" for bass, 10" + 800Hz horn, $13,500 USD/pair plus shipping from Canada)
He is trying to find his niche-the “it’s too much profit” crowd. Like the ASR measurement crowd there’s no middle ground. Did you read all the comments he had on his video? It’s in all the hobby videos: cars, coffee machines, motorcycles. A bunch of grown ass men bickering like teenagers. Why are they in the business of being in people’s wallets? Build it better, cheaper, nicer and put it on the market.
Rarely does a speaker go flat up against a wall. How about compensation space for the speaker cable with plug. Maybe if the connections are on the side or underneath. I stand corrected now as you can eliminate the several thousand dollars worth of hi end cable, due to wireless speaker systems????
@@hificave I also forgot to mention that Focal has a $40,000.00 US wireless speaker. This tower speaker has three amps. built-in side the speaker. So now we have to compensate space for the several thousand dollars worth of an AC POWER CORD(S) ????? This is the crazy world of Audiophiles!!
My only comment is that I feel audiophiles too often fail to take the room and their use case into consideration. Each room has its characteristics sonically. Add to that the flexibility (or lack thereof) in speaker placement. Finally, are the speakers strictly for 2 channel use or will they be doing double duty for HT as well. The answers to these questions may determine how far you can hope to go down the audio rabbit hole without wasting your money. A speaker can only go so far in overcoming a challenging placement which circumstances do not allow for changing.
To you & ABX Audio I don't know if both of you guys have spent any of your time following Stefe at Skunkie Design ? Her world revolves around building valve amps & has now moved into a minor amount of reviewing. She has a problem, she has a small room with limited space for her speakers which currently are Klipsch RP600M's. Her musical tastes are Jazz, some classical, acoustic Folk/Americana & probably old rock. She has talked to Danial at GR & I think she maybe getting a kit for probably the little giant killer if that is in her price range. I suggested open baffle as I know there is a lot of help on a site on Discord BUT I got shot down by others who seem of greater knowledge that Valve & Open Baffle doesn't work. Can either of you guys or any who follow both your channels reach out & help by lending some short not too large speakers & add them to her options & if she decides to DIY maybe help there also. Me I live in the deep south New Zealand way too far away to be able to be of any help to her. (For those who don't know where that is it's next to Australia and we still have a CUP residing in our yacht club LOL) Kiwi Rod
Tube amps and open baffles are literally made for eachother. Especially in the case of la dolce audio amps and speakers. Designed for each other. Some of the best audio experiences ive had in this hobby. The people that say these kind of idiotic blanket statements are the people with no experience with it.
I will stop ranting when I am done, thank you. Now what was I ranting about again? Guess I am done 😂 To be fair maco could have chosen another color to distinguish the drivers they use from the cheaper chinese ones People who pull their speakers out in the room are just the crazies, he said sitting next to his speaker which is pulled out into the room 😂😂😂 know thyself 😎
Sky high prices for soso gear. Actually innovative gear for less coming out of china. Name a US cd transport for 650 700 that plays mqa cds up samples to dsd. A decent speaker isn't even to be had for less than a used car and majority the price of a new one. As a private in the army in 79 I could afford the latest great sansui 33000. And I say the 15 inch woofers in the speakers sounded better than any of the skinny towers of today. I turn that baby up and put a crack in the barracks the bombs of ww2 couldn't. Ask me how I know. Lol
Yes I see them in the background. Stefe has a social conscience she was a Council member for the town on her t shirt for many years, what state I have totally no idea so I am asking a big please help her because in HI FI how many females do you know of other than the token eye candy make the effort ? Yes she has taken a lot of hate because of what she is doing because there are some who believe HI FI is exclusively a male domain Kiwi Rod
