I imagine this could be used for some sort of questionnaire that gets more and more elaborate or intense. Like talking to a bunch of nerdy space engineers about what you want your ideal spaceship to look like or have. During the calm parts of the tune, they're asking about shape, basic things, etc. And as it gets more upbeat, it shows you what your spaceship looks like flying through space as you decide what else to put on it.
I imagined a young, down on his luck space traveler strolling through a spaceship dealership. He fawns over the ship of his dreams, convinces the salesman to let him go out on a test drive, and then gets kicked out for not being able to afford to buy the ship.
SkydivisionX Yea. I love Mother 3, but I haven't given the others too much of a chance yet. I know the original is more an acquired taste, and Earthbound looks a little dated to me, but I'd still love to give them a shot.
Disembow1280 I did notice that. I was not only surprised, I was blown away. The fact that virt composed the music for Shantae is nothing short of amazing. Can I call it or what? XD I had no idea that virt had such an impressive resume.
Would anyone happen to know or be able to help figure out the chords to this song? I know the first one for the intro is F#maj7, but after that it gets tricky. Jake likes his altered/melodic minor chords in that intro and they're stumping me a bit.
Try shooting it to Charles Cornell here on UA-cam! I can see him really digging it. He's a professional jazz pianist who has an amazing ear and mostly does chord breakdowns.
Been composing music for almost 15 years, and this composition still absolutely bewilders me. Hard to believe this is all from the mind of one guy

Jake Kaufman is definitly a genius
i feel like he added an allusion to 'File Select' OST from Earthbound (Mother 2) in the intro of this song
God this song is just *so nice.* I love all the extra instruments and flavor that they bring too! Jazz sounds so good in chiptune form!
Nothing cant be more epic than this...

I like this idea, I think I’ll make this into a project
yeah srsly, there is 0 reason to down vote this song
It's been 8 years and I can't hear this song without hearing ferr go BAAAAAAALLION
I miss Freelance Astronauts so much ;_;
VIRT. THAT FUCKING GENIUS.
This sounds like an epic version of a song for a shop for an RPG game.
This kind of sounds like Mii Channel. I love it!
PopcornInfinity I was going to say that
Yah totally
Fantastic peace of work...
this sounds like something from a kirby game.
First part reminds me of GB Saga series, then evolves into Mario Paint/Kirby, sweet music!
in the beginning, it kinda sounds like the earthbound selection screen, this is amazing
+SkydivisionX That's what I was thinking. I wonder if Jake has played the Mother games.
Avery Jenson i'm thinkin he did, a lot of chiptune artists probably have tried the mother games, they're beautiful gems of retro goodness tbh

I've been looking for this for SO LONG! Reminds me of a shop or town in one of the EarthBound games. XD Thanks for the upload!

jeez this is my favourite chiptune song, along with surfing on a sine wave by fearofdark.
This sort of makes me think of a shop theme, now that you mention it, but at the same time this is so much more it's just awesome.
hey man
@@maxproske1950 hey man
damn I love that busy bass
This is somewhere between the Wii Shop Channel theme or Pokemon Pinball. Or Kazumi Totake doing Pokemon Pinball's music. Either way it's incredible.
I hear the Doctor Who theme at 2:39. xD
shoutout to simpleflips.
I like to just lay back in my bed and pretend I'm manning a little 8-bit era rocket and flying through space without a single worry
That's some intense staring.
pawtpie.
Now I need to check who did the music for Shantae. The beginning reminds me WAY too much of Shantae.
The composer for Shantae is Jake Kaufman, but he goes by the alias "virt" as well.
Surprise.
Disembow1280 I did notice that. I was not only surprised, I was blown away. The fact that virt composed the music for Shantae is nothing short of amazing. Can I call it or what? XD
I had no idea that virt had such an impressive resume.
For sure. Not many composers can match virt's pedigree.
Link added to the description.
Damn you oilbacon.
this and lorem ipsum are the best virt songs
GOOD LUCK PHILEA
I want to buy items to this theme :3
As an Eve player myself, I must admit this song made me think about spinning docked spaceships
What’s Eve, Zaivx, 9 Years Ago?
Stupid fucking spaceship plays this song while the system is loading.
Reminds me of the Wii shop theme
Yes I could see that!
Thatch is here.

I don't think so, this is the enhanced version too but I don't think the pure NES version was every released to the public.

An Aivi, Surasshu, & Virt collaboration would be fucking amazing.
