Part of Charles Urban's 1903 'Unseen World' series, which brought the microscopic world to the screen, Cheese Mites showed large-as-crabs mites wandering about the nation's favourite lunchtime snack to the joyful disgust of audiences. For 80 years the BFI's archives held only the shot of the creepy crawlies. Now, however, a new version has been discovered, with an opening showing a professor (F Martin Duncan) horrified by examining his bread and cheese through a magnifying glass. A spoof of this film, appeared shortly after under the title Unclean World, and is also available to watch on BFI Player, as is Urban’s later cheese-related film Manufacture of Stilton Cheese. (With special thanks to Oliver Gaycken)

Behold the gruesome truth behind cheese!
Reminds me of a quip by John C Riley's character Steve Brule: "Cheese is mold. Sorry."
Thank you for uploading this!
To think this was done in 1903! Incredible
《Never Home Alone》brought me here, really want to try this kind of cheese!
When leopold bloom walks into Davy byrnes in ulysses for a gorgonzolla cheese sandwich in 1904 he thinks 'mity cheese'!
I would have liked to see the man's reaction ....
I don't think I would knowingly eat this
What magnification is this?
magnificence
I was brought here by the bible commentary "Grace in Galatians" by George Sayles Bishop (published 1912), which mentions "cheese-mites" on pg. 10.
It's a special cheese in france. It has a zinginess to it and a crunch inside. they love it. Then ...you learn the truth...
It's not. It was English Stilton.
Then there is the one filled with tiny maggots from a special fly that lays its eggs in the cheese. Not my cheese, but it is supposed to be very tasty. IF you can get past the maggots.
@@dennise5017 I believe the cheese you refer to is called casu martzu and made in Sardinia. It is actually banned in some countries.
I like the actor's play, and the script is much better than in Jordan Peele's "Nope"
This movie didn't scare me. Those creatures are cute. I don't eat cheese or dairy or meat or eggs.
+Francie There is something wrong with a person that doesn't like cheese.
+MrFocus503 Lol insecure much
cheese is dairy... if you're trying to imply you're vegan, then that's cool... but mites aren't animals mate.
Can you add subway surfers gameplay? This is boring.
