    At 27:00 you drew an Ancilla from the deck, should i have some ancillae in my deck too or you had that only bc you played the campaign before?

      Good question and you are right. This was not a Fresh deck. You should not have Ancillae at the start of the game. You can get them by completing campaign missions. :)

    30:38 To clarify, Clan Leaders can never gain Infamy or be placed in Torpor. If an effect would give them either, the player instead assigns the Infamy/Torpor to one of the Clan Leader's childer that is not already in Torpor. vampirethemasqueradeheritage.livingrules.io#key-terms_clan-leader

      You are absolutely right, sir!

    18:04 Pretty sure that Childer cannot also be Sires unless they have Childer of their own. If I'm right, then this is a misplay. They could become a Sire later, but they aren't one at that point.

      It's been a while since I reached for this rulebook, but I think you may be right :) well spotted

    I have a question regarding the rules.
    Each character you recruit has certain abilities that is listed on the bottom of their card. When is that ability used/activated in the game, and does that ability give the character an exhaustion marker?
    Also, can a vampire with an exhaustion marker sire another vampire?
    Thank you for uploading this video! :)

      A character with abilitites in the bottom of the card is called an Ancillae and they are a powerful vampire - the abilities are activated in the recruitment phase (step 3) - first you recruit an ancillae, then you activate the recruited character (all the hexagonal icons) and finally you activate all abilities in top to bottom order. This does not count as exhausting the character. Some scheme cards may allow you to activate the abilities again. You can also put exhaustion markers on your ancillae to pay for using schemes.
      As to your second question - yes - exhausted vampires can sire another vampire, but that is a suboptimal tactic as the exhausted vampire will become the leader of their coterie and will not be able to be exhausted again to pay for a scheme card activation - until the exhaust token is removed from them. Hope this helped :-)

    Does not seem complicated, get the vampire that suits you, card will increase in your favour in the battles. Make childes. Fulfil schemes.

      I don't think that they were aiming at hugely complicated. It should (in my opinion) be treated more like a strongly theme driven legacy game - the clan you create progresses through different eras which have variable battlefields with a few new rules thrown into the mix. You use the stickers to upgrade the vampire cards you wish and you construct a deck (that's what it all boils down to - a deck builder tbh). If you are into the Vampire Masquerade universe, it's a hit. Otherwise it could be a miss depending on the preferences. There is a lot of competition in the deck building and legacy genre out there.

    Setup rules say that clan boons token should stay on the clan leader at the beginning, is it correct?

    • @lonevik
      @lonevik  3 роки тому

      Yes, that is correct :)

    Don’t watch Kindred: The Embraced from 1996, especially if you like the Brujah Clan! Lol. I love that show, but let’s say the Brujah Clan is definitely a love hat relationship for me when playing this game.
    Thank you for the awesome video!

      Glad you liked it. I've been Brujah since 2nd Ed. and I think nothing is able to change that :D

    I heard that the rules packaged with the copy of the game are since out of date. Is this true?
    If so I have two follow ups:
    Is it worth my time to get the new rules or can the game be enjoyed with the base rule set?
    And
    Where can I download or print out the latest rules??

    • @lonevik
      @lonevik  3 роки тому +1

      Yes. CHeck out the Living rule book and the Downloads section at the creator's page www.vtm-heritage.com/ :) the game can be played with the rules that come in the box, sure. The updates just clarify a few things and balance the game out better :-)

    28:50 When you use the "Find the Prodigy" scheme you Activate the recruited vampire twice -- first through Embrace the Chaos (which always includes an Activation) and then due to the second line of the scheme card. boardgamegeek.com/thread/2564382/article/36758275#36758275

      That's really convoluted to get to that conclusion when reading the rules in the rulebook that comes with the game though. I bet that many people have understood it the way I did initially. But thanks for the clarification!
