Thanks a lot! Very clear and nice to watch. (By the way your ring is awesome!)
Thank you! 😃 glad you liked it - both the video and the ring :D
Where's the rule on eating a plant to regain health in between encounters in the rule book?
Ye gods! It was so long ago that I will need to refresh my knowledge before I can answer :D I’ll try to verify this for you asap ;)
I'm 2 years late, I'm sorry. Well, I consider this to be a lost cause. On the one hand, you have Marvel studios who probably have their say and won't let anyone come anywhere near the IP without a sure shot (Dice Thrown, Zombicide,..). And on the other hand, you have creators who won't take any risks with an IP that's so expensive, knowing that they will somehow be controlled and limited in what they can use, without any guarantees that they would be able to expand their core game with future expansions. That said, I think that you overlook at least one game: you discard Marvel Champions by saying it's "just a card game" and I don't get it. Card games aren't a subgenre of board games. This one is very popular, very advanced, very well done, very thematic and it is intended to be played by expert gamers. AND, it's unique-ish. Yes it pretty close to Arkham Horror LCG or Lord of the Rings LCG since..it's an LCG but it has its own mechanics and plays very differently. I can meet you in the middle if you meant that it isn't epic enough in terms of scope (board, lots of components, narrative, etc..), but it's the best Marvel thing out there, IMHO. When it comes to DC, I feel like Batman: Gotham City Chronicles is that game you are looking for... but for Marvel. Yes, it's not unique since it borrowed a lot from Conan but it has that epic feel to it and it feels comprehensive enough to register as the DC board game we all deserved. I think that a Marvel version of this could be the thing. Ok, it won't be original but it would feel expert enough and comprehensive enough. To me it would tick all those boxes (sure shot for both Marvel and Monolith, epic, fully fledged, very thematic and complex) while not being totally original. But it wouldn't feel like a lazy cash-grabber/ afterthought. That's good enough for me and I would be all in.
Yes. I apologise for dismissing Marvel Champions - I was focusing on the board game aspect of the games too much. And apart from Arkham Horror LCG I do not delve much into the card realm :( I agree with you a 100% - even a Conanesque resin with Marvel slapped on would be a dream come true instead of another cash grab by CMON :( but I guess we can both keep dreaming :(
@@lonevik No need to apologize. My feelings aren't hurt and I love to know others' opinons ;-) To be honest, for a while I was pretty sure monolith would try to get the Marvel IP. I don't know if they tried or not, if Marvel refused or not, if it was too expensive or not... That's the closest thing to what we want and if it's not them, I think it won't be anyone anytime soon. Anyway, I loved to watch some of your videos (I came from the "My Father's Work" one since I just bought it and loved the tutorial). Take care and all the best for your channel.
Thanks for the kind word and glad you like the content. I will be getting back to making new content #soon - I am finishing the construction of a new home which will have ample room to record new material as well. Hence the current longer hiatus :)
Excelente explanation! Thanks
Thanks. So glad you liked it :)
I've been a fan of the Elder Scrolls games for many years! How does this board game compare to Elder Scrolls V:Skyrim the video game????
Hi. That is a very good question and a very difficult one to answer. It all depends on what you like the most in TES games. This board game definitely puts the story first and the mechanics are a bit behind. The character development does not have the myriad of options you know from the computer game but it has a few directions to follow - and most importantly it remains manageable for a tabletop game. The story is written well and in line with the lore. What is definitely missing is the multilevel approach of the exploration. In the board game going down a mine or cave means just going through consecutive encounters. There is no labyrinth of corridors, exploring unknown passages. All the travelling is only on the main world map but that's also because of the board game size limitations I guess. Overall - it is not a 10/10 experience but a 7. From the perspective of a die hard TES fan maybe even a 6? I am guessing because I am not one :) I have around 300h in TES V Skyrim on my PC but that does not mean a thing comparing to some others out there :D
IMO Maliks basic attack = if you cover empty tile with the basic attack, you get to cover adjacent hord tray for every empty square covered. So it does not concern about where Malik stands, but where he attacks. Also adjacent diagonally is still adjacent.
Dear sir, you might be right. It has been so long since I played this game that I would have to do a crash course refresh of the rules again :) thanks for watching and spotting this :)
So, I haven't played the game but am now ready to give it a go and have painted 3 random heroes. Do the big enemies also come and go at random or are they mostly seen once? Just thinking of which to paint first after the Draugrs (the big Troll of course!). Do you know if any of the heroes from Lost Stories are to be favored instead of the core box?
Only played the Core Box campaign for now and haven't even touched the content of the add-ons - cause they came so late. As for the big minis - they don't pop up that frequently which is a bit disappointing but in line with the story narration. I was irritated at how little enemy variety there is in the core box because I felt like I am constantly cycling between the Draugr and the Archers. :/
@@lonevik yes I've played 3 adventures now and can already se repetition is a big minus in the game. Especially when playing solo and have to recycle the feat cards all the time x 3 etc.
Very very good explained. Thx
Glad you liked it :)
Great video it was easy to follow along with the rulebook and just the sheets and board out to learn how to play so I'm ready to teach 2 friends today and play it for the first time. I just want to point out a few term/phrases you used that might make it confusing. For the "take any dna" action you kept saying "random". It wouldn't be random because you get to choose. So the better term is take any one, not a random one. When you mentioned where you finish on your excitement track it can be noted that you only need to circle one space in the row to get the bonus you don't need to complete the row. When you mentioned demolishing you said "erase" and the rulebook specifically says you don't erase you block it off and it's now "rubble" which means you can't build over that space and paths don't go through it. I think you also didn't mention the end game points for circled exits only count if there is still a tour path to it. So if at one point you circle an exit but demolish a building or road that breaks up the path, you have to reconnect that path by the end of the game or you don't get the points. Other than those small things the video is great and clear and this is the best rulebook I've seen from Pandasaurus. My Dinosaur Island and Dinosaur World rulebooks had a lot of mistakes and omissions so its nice to see such a top tier production for this game. I can see myself playing this often solo as it looks fun, variable, and fast. Thanks again. liked and subscribed. Cheers!
Thanks for the remarks. Getting better and better all the time. Glad you liked the vid and the game :)

You have the same problem i had before. Picking your fingers. Stop doing that and buy some hand cream 🙂
Oh the things I didn't try. :( but thanks for caring :)
@@lonevik i guess we both suffers from anxiety. i bought a punching bag to release my anxiety on. No picking since then. Hope you can find other ways too 🙂
Thanks! Spent a few hours (probably 3) re-learning the game throughout the day and your videos helped a lot. I don't know if you still play, but if you have all the expansions, I recommend buying the organizer/insert from Tinkering Paws. Makes setup a breeze!
Amazing tutorial, thank you for sharing ! Also love your english is very understandable for non- native english speakers like me. Liked, subcribed !
Thanks and welcome. Guess being an English tutor for 10+ years helped ;)
Spot on in every point made. Is it still in your collection after 2 years?
Yes it is. But honestly it got played maybe 2 times. Far less that Twilight Imperium for that matter :( and never both boxes at once. :(
Nice breakdown; but if you play a Fast attack, it will take place before the enemies attack you.
Indeed. Thanks for bringing this up :)
Very clear. Thanks!
Glad you found it helpful :)
I like the leveling, its like the video game.
Probably as close as it could get in a board game :)
Thanks for putting this up. Made learning the game a breeze!
I am very glad you found the video helpful :) you are most welcome. Hope you are enjoying the game. It's a great brain teaser :)
How many players is max for this game
1 to 4 is what the box says :)
@@lonevik Ok, hoped for more :(
Sadly a lot of coop games suffer the same player count issue :) 4 at a table seems to be the most popular limit for most games. I myself am looking for 5 player games and it gets trickier with time to find good titles for groups above 4 :)
@@lonevik we normally is 5-6 soo its hard to find games we love for that amount
Can canvas reflections be a standalone game? Or do you need the original canvas to play with reflections?
Sorry to say - it is just an expansion. You won't find all of the components necessary to play the game in the Reflections box alone :(
@@lonevik Thank you!
You are most welcome. If you have any more questions about board games, you know where to find me ;) have a great day. P.s. Canvas is a great little game - worth every penny and beautiful as art <3
I read that the eagles nest content has balance issues. Do you disagree?
Yes, sadly it does. The new characters are especially OP and if you combine them with some of the new abilities, the defenders have slim chances. We treat the new characters as novelty items and focus on playing the base game snipers but we use the new maps for variety. It makes the add-on seem like a weak content to cost ratio but I purchased mine second hand and the price was pretty fair.
@@lonevik Thanks. Haven't played enough of the base game yet but having a couple more maps is intrigueing either way.
Sold. In! Thank you.
Glad I took part on convincing you :D enjoy the fun :)
Thanks for this video!
This tutorial was great! You did an amazing job of running through everything. I didn't have a clue what I was doing. Now everything makes much more sense and I feel like I can play through a planet without even reading the rules.. I think I will still but either way thank you!
Thanks for the kind words! I am so glad you found my video helpful :) Unsettled is a great game with a lot of stellar writing and humour. Well worth the effort :) enjoy!
So your biggest complaint is you can't run two campaigns simultaneously!?! Thats quite encouraging to hear and quite differernt from the norm given how negative most reviews are of this game. Do you think some of the negativity stems from the game not being like how people have percieved it/think it should be? (i.e. A bit like Bloodborne!)
I feel that people were a bit disappointed about the difficulty. It is a pretty straightforward game - with a great narrative - and it had potential to be more complex. I find it ok, because I had not high expectations - I enjoyed it a lot. Also I liked the bag building element while there were complaints of it being too random. But dice rolling would be just as random :) lastly, the rules are a bit finnicky but I tend to play coops and narratives in a way that when a rule is unclear I rule for the benefit of the party :D
Great explanation of the rules. Thank you!
You are most welcome! Glad you liked it :)
This helped a lot, thank you 😂. Just even setting it up was pretty overwhelming. Thanks!
Glad I could be of help. This is a great narrative once you learn the ropes and a fun adventure to experience. Enjoy!
Really good explanation thank you!
Thanks :) glad you liked it <3
I jist bought this game because i was told the solo campaigns are really cool. I am a little intimated after watching a few minutes of this. Lol maybe this shouldnt have been my first board game
Don't get discouraged :) sure, it may not be the best entry level game ;) but it is fun after you learn the rules. The first scenario is quite straightforward. Check out my how to play video and if you have any questions, I'll do my best to answer them ;)

I love your voice over as you play, very film noir !
Thank you! I soooo wanna do more cases in this way but, at the moment, my job is occupying too much of my time :( I will definitely do it, though
It's possible to protect the stickers with Krylon spray, but it would add another layer of work that's not really necessary. I usually apply Krylon (two layers) to low quality tiles/boards if I see that this would make the game last considerably more. Too much Krylon will make the components look frosty and that's not a good idea. Thank you for this video!
Hey man! Welcome to the channel - glad you liked the video . Thank you for the tip. I will definitely try this :)
@@lonevik remember to use a mask because Krylon is really bad for you until it's completely dry.
