I just ordered this same washer today after my Whirlpool washer had a cracked tub. It was only about 4 years old. My son and daughters own Samsung washers and say they work great. I’m so looking forward to using it. I just hope it fits . I couldn’t find the measurements for the washer on the Lowe’s web site. The Whirlpool was 27 inches wide, so I hope this machine will fits in the closet like space next to the dryer.
The water jet feature is what sold me on this one because I don't have a sink. But was looking up videos to see if enough people had problems with it to warrant the 5 year warranty.
Thanks for the review!!! We wanted the LG Turbowash top loader but it's oit of stock and we need one TODAY. Everything I've read says the Samsung is TERRIBLE. I haven't seen critical video reviews on them, only negative comments. So, im hoping and praying we're making a good decision here... 🙏🏼🙏🏼🙏🏼
Have had NOTHING BUT problems. Just one little garment out of place and it goes into unbalanced error mode. Can't do anything heavy in it (blue jeans, sweats, towels) it repeatedly goes into unbalanced and refills with water time and time again to attempt to fix. First load took an entire DAY to finish. Even then we took it out to line to dry because it never would completely spin out the water due to unbalanced error. And YES I've checked level front to back, side to side, diagonal to diagonal. All is perfectly level. Only put 5-6 pairs of jeans in or 5-6 towels and it will never spin them dry enough to put in dryer. Always have to line dry them due to so much water.
Hello, just purchased this washer/dryer combo. Question, when you load your fabric softener , do you have to toggle the fabric softer button in order to dispense it or will it do it automatically….. ?
@@MrGizmo211 is there anyway I can send you a video of the noise mine makes, so you can compare to yours? I bought it used and the guy claims it’s always sounded like this
So, I just bought the Samsung 5.2 cu ft Washer and Dryer and the washer doesn't remove hair from clothes. My daughter had pet hair and her own hair on her clothes after I ran the load on Heavy Duty. My model is WA52A5500AC. Do you have any issues with hair not being removed? My 2nd load in the machine didn't get completely cleaned on Normal, as the hand towels still smelled like the body wash and facial wash used on them before washing. I just recalibrated it. Maybe that will help, but after several loads with the issues above I just may end up getting something else.
I watched reviews after already purchasing this 😆👌 only just did the other day so I don't have it yet but it sounds great! Anything was better than my old one that's about to kill over though. Dang thing shakes the whole house most times during the spin cycle 😬 and now it's leaking too. 😓 anyways, I'm excited to get mine! I got it from home depot in the champagne color 🍾
@@aramrz6120 I got top load with the agitator. It's been great! It's pretty deep so I do have to use a stool to get everything from the bottom 😅 so I sometimes think I should have gotten front load but it's not a big deal and I've heard people had more issues with the front load 🤷♀️
Are front loading machines build different in the US? I've heard that complaint a lot now, that they get moldy etc. I'm european, and here the front loading type is the most common one (our top loading machines are actually different than the US version, too). People here never have much issues with mold or anything, after any washing cycle you just leave the door open and it will dry out by itself... They also use less water and get the clothes clean because of the spinning motion, so you'll need less detergent too. The only issue: they take much more time, at least the european versions (up to 2.5 hrs). I never understood how clothes are supposed to get clean while they just swim around for half an hour in a bunch of water, unless you use tons of chemistry...why spent all the money on a washing machine in the first place, just throw them in a sink filled with water and swirl them around every now and then...same effect, zero energy wasted :)
Curious I have this washer and it seems like the wash times are obnoxious. Over and hour on many of them and if you add fabric softener it will add like 30 minutes to a normal wash. Like 1 hour 30 minutes total. Is this a problem or normal times?
I cannot find any reviews for my exact machine, but I think they are all pretty similar. I have the WA51A5505AW. I haven't tried the Active waterjet, but that was the main reason I bought this Samsung. Everything I read says that after your done hand washer just press the button again and it will shut off and empty. I want to be able to soak the clothes for an extended period of time. I've read that it shuts itself off after 5 minutes of filling. Will it then drain? I want to be able to soak the clothes. Stop / pause????? Thanks for your help. I JUST TRIED IT AND IT DOESN'T FILL UP AT ALL with the Active Waterjet
This is also what I’m trying to figure out! I want to soak for 1-2 hours for certain things and that’s the one thing I can’t find any information about. I did find out that the presoak option adds 18 minutes of soaking time to any wash cycle, but then it doesn’t drain before washing the whole load.
Nice video. The melody that plays at the end of the wash and dry is cheerful. I love it. 🫶 It’s better than a buzzer. I’m guessing it plays for a longer time so if you just catch 2-3 seconds of it, then you know the wash is done. Also, the melody hits a lot of different notes, so if someone has hearing issues or there is just a lot of other noises in the home, you have a better chance of being alerted when it’s done.
Hello I have a question I use pods can you still use that for the washer. I actually don't have it yet coming in the next week, but I found mine at home Depot 618 cause I have the platinum one. I never used Samsung always whirlpool so I hope it's good.
Mr. Gizmo. I used different detergent softener and perfume beads however my clothes never smell good. Do you have any idea what I am doing wrong? Thank you in advance for your time🙏
How do u do a reset on these? Had mine 6 months and now it won’t power on. It did start working magically one day and I was able to wash 1 load but then went back to nothing. Would appreciate it if someone could tell me how to possibly reset it.
I have the exact same washer and love it, however, about a month ago, my spin button stopped working. I can't make it go up any higher, and also, now, as of this morning, my washer refuses to spin. :( I bought mine in Nov. of 2020. Any one else have any problems with theirs like this???
The water jet pre treat. You know there's a button on the right push it and water comes out on the left? Mine isn't working I don't know if it's the button or where the water comes out but it's not working. It fills with water just fine but the water for pre treating doest dispense water. Of course it's out of warranty even though it says it has a 10 year warranty. I called Samsung they said I need a tech to do a service call. I don't feel the need to pay for that. I'm hoping somebody can give me a quick fix thanks
This only thing that turned me off to Samsung washers and dryers was the slant. I like to fold clothes and leave a basket on the dryer. Would the slant cause that or other items to slide off?
Yes, it will absolutely. I'm the same. Though the user manuals specifically state not to place items, especially heavy containers of detergent on their tops, who doesn't? I purchased a roll of soft, non-slip cupboard liner and placed on top which prevents sliding. One nite however, over time, the heat from the dryer will cause a slight permanent marking on the top of the dryer. The marking on the washer lid can be cleaned with glass cleaner. Just tonight I tried using goo gone to remove the dryer marking to no abs. I also learned that a plastic razor will remove the black coating. Oops! It's small anyways and out of sight so ..
@Aaron Maher I bought an LG washer this week. I really like it and I can put a basket on top and nothing falls off. I cover my dryer with an Ikea bath mat protect the paint. So far so good!
@@nukya Excellent, keep doing that with the cover over your dryer so long as it doesn't create a fire hazard in any way. This will likely prevent any permanent markings as in my case where I used a non-slip, breathable cupboard liner to prevent slipping. Goo gone will not work on the dryer but glass cleaner will work on the washer lid, inside and out Not to send any ill-will your way but just a heads up, it's possible your heating element or thermostat could go out early. My dryer just quit heating and I don't yet know if its the heating element or thermostat but should shortly once I open it up. Prior to purchasing this Samsung set washer & dryer, I had a Maytag set washer/dryer. They were quite well aged around 25 years. Not once over the years did I have to service either. They worked perfectly until the day they were replaced. The only reason that I did replace them was due to age.
@@MrGizmo211 okay because I do that with all my washing machines. Another question I wanted to ask you is why does it agitate slow on a full load but acetate fast on a small load. I had to return my Maytag washer back to Rent-A-Center because it was doing almost the same thing as my Samsung. Is that just new washers don't do what the old washers used to do??
@@MrGizmo211 and if you can send a video of your washer with a load in it maybe some sheets and pillowcases on a full load of it agitating so I can see if mine is doing what yours is doing. That would be awesome thank you
Thank you so much for the review! I'm trying to see if I should upgrade my 23 year old Kenmore 80 series machines. They just haven't given me a reason to retire them, plus I know that a new machine probably won't get me half of the life I've gotten out of my current machines. I just love the way the new machines look, I guess it is form over fashion for now until I make the jump! 🙏
I have the same Kenmore, same 80 series, in white. We just bought this Samsung set, front load washer, but do you think I'ma let my mom throw, sell the old ones... nahh. They've been going strong for 14 years now.
@@jesusmagana9650 I agree 100% Mine have recently started leaving mysterious oil spots on some of my clothing. Either I left a chapstick in the dryer at some point or there is something wrong with the machines, I want to keep them so badly, but they've been ruining my clothes 😭🤣
I wish I'd never gotten rid of my Kenmore! I hate this whirlpool front loader & it's leaving weird blue spots on clothes randomly! They sent a repair guy & he wanted to blame my oxi gel stick. Replaced something but it's still messed up. Ruining clothes at random. & these new tubs with all the plastic at the bottom things can get stuck in the crack..... I dont understand. My Kenmore had a solid metal tub with just the agitator in the middle. Worked so much better! But I do need something bigger for king size comforters.
In the instruction manual, they say not to use vinegar because it can deteriorate the hoses and parts, but bleach was said to be ok. Bleach is much stronger than vinegar, so I thought it was odd that they pushed bleach so much. We use oxygen bleach only because it’s better for the machine and us.
@@justjennifer5440 Hello. I wish I could upload the pictures. The metal where the solvents were used, seemed inferior. It rusted as if it were an old automobile. The mechanical parts are still working well. The rust started falling into the machine and stained several items. However, there was no need to replace the entire machine so, I finally got up the courage and ordered the top part and replaced it myself. The machine looks “fairly new”. I now wipe the “bleach compartment”dry after each use(this area was “rusted and softened” from the bleach) and I leave the lid open to dry out the detergent area. I guess if you are using modern, “pod detergent” and “fabric softener sheets” it would not deteriorate as quickly. The part was ordered through, Sears Parts.
@@barksdalewilliams3971 well that’s good that you were able to get it fixed. My detergent drawer compartment is all plastic, so maybe Samsung realized it was an issue and fixed it. I use a natural detergent that I just pour straight into the drum along with my oxygen bleach, then I pour vinegar in the fabric softener compartment. Hopefully it will last us for many years.
I have a top load Samsung going on 7 years I’ve never had an issue with it. My dryer did need a new belt at year six. Looking to sell those and upgrade to newer ones. 😊
I clean my washer once a month with the original Pine-Sol . Pine-sol is a disinfected and the original can be use for laundry so no need to worry about if left over residue
Nice video. I wish I had the experience you did. I bought a Samsung topload washer (mines a little different than yours) last January and I've had nonstop issues with it. The suspension rods they use to support the drums are pretty cheap and flimsy, so ours went bad. You'll see it happen if you look at the drum. So like your drum is sitting up close to the top (which it's supposed to), ours started sagging and making crazy buzzing noises. We've had our washer and dryer for less than 2 years. Also, curious and very random question, but how do you wash your sheets? We usually coil the sheets around the drum and I've tried this using both Normal and Bedding options, but it seems no matter what we do, we get the "UR" (unbalanced load) error. I'm glad you haven't had these experiences, maybe I just got a bad one...but I think I'm going to go to Speed Queen or Whirlpool for my next washer.
I'm suffering with same issue....horrible spin cycle noise and shaking...i believe the suspension rods are bad too! Getting a whirlpool on my next purchase...ive only had this machine for 2.5 years and to get the UR code every time I wash a medium load of towels or clothes is just annoying. Luckily my home warranty co-pay is affordable to get it fixed
I just bought these they come tomorrow and im finding alot of bad reviews about samaung washer going out after a year i bought the 3 year warranty but im still worried i spent over 1600 for a washer and dryer did i make a good decision

There are mesh filters in the water hoses that the manual recommends you take out and clean every 6 months or so…but that shouldn’t affect draining. That’s only water coming in.
My Samsung washer isn't spinning. I put my laundry in the washer and it kept beeping, the error code says 9C8. I never read the instructions of adding my device being my washer to get w software update.
We have all the same appliances in the kitchen and now the same washer and dryer. Are you using tide pods for High Efficiency or regular detergent. TIA!
I just got this washer. I don't think mine is filling up with enough water. while it is washing, most of the clothes are out of the water...they are damp but not getting much water. Any suggestions?
I just got it today , I didn’t realize how deep it was until it was getting out my first load of clothes. Had to use a step stool I’m 5’4 . Felt like a toddler trying to reach the bottom….lol so keep a step stool next to the washer, careful I don’t fall in. 😂
I’m 5’4 and I also use a step stool to retrieve wash clothes and socks that tend to stick to the bottom. My sister is only 4’9 and she just hops up there!!
I’m with you . I never clean my washers . But I still have a 2003-2004 model . It’s finally dying . Dread buying a new washer. Want one that cleans GOOD . My husband and I do construction and need strong washing . And I want nice deep water without having to hang out and “ trick “ the washer into filling all the way . I ain’t got time for that 🤣. I’ve had one that needed to be tricked into filling up more and I switched it for my old one .
Steer clear of this washer if you want something that deep fills and cleans really good. If you want true deep cleaning in a modern HE washer, you need a front loader. Just leave the door open after every load and you won’t have smell or mold problems.
@@codyhi6193 It's basically a hot water rinse cycle, that cycles two or three times, followed by a high speed spin after each cycle. It works to flush out all the residue from the detergents, softeners, etc., and also flush out any residual dirt from the dirty clothes. I use mine after every three or four loads.
I did not realize that it had the water Jet feature! I always soak my clothes, or have to use some type of spray and wash. I checked and it works! Had mine for over a year, lol and never noticed it.

I have had mine for approximately 1.5 - 2 months now. Identical to this. I HATE it so far. Water level, no matter the setting, even on deep fill is only 1-2” of water. We ran the configuration setting multiple times to no avail. I just washed a twin blanket, thin, and after 1 hour and 10 mins it still had dry spots on it. Clothes have white residue on them all the time even with extra rinse cycles. I don’t know what to do. Even had a tech out. No help.
It sounds like something is definitely wrong with it. I just got mine and it fills low, mid and high. I would contact the warranty department and tell them it’s not working properly.
I have the same set and I HATE it as well. All my dark colored clothes have soap stains on them even if I do a second wash. Too bad theyre pricey to get rid of em that easily.
Just got mine Friday, and I am pissed. Brown stains on my king size blankets and I do not feel like my clothes are clean at all. Hour+ settings are horrible. Residue everywhere. Ugh!

Does it load water all the way to the top? I don't like front load either and I do too think I feel like doesn't clean well.
I would like a reply does the Amazon replacement stabilize rods work for the Samsung washer . I’m hearing from local suppliers they don’t hold up
What settings do you use for a queen comforter?? We have dogs and after washing and drying still dog hair.
Have you washed large comforters or sleeping bags?
Thanks for the review!!! We wanted the LG Turbowash top loader but it's oit of stock and we need one TODAY. Everything I've read says the Samsung is TERRIBLE. I haven't seen critical video reviews on them, only negative comments. So, im hoping and praying we're making a good decision here... 🙏🏼🙏🏼🙏🏼
Do you do large loads with it, and does it get the clothes clean very well, like does it really swish the clothes around and get them clean?
so, no agitator? do u keep the door open in between washes to air out the machine?
Yes I keep the door open
Same it's a POS. I changed all 4 shocks and it still won't spin. Steer clear of Samsung appliances. They only "look pretty". So disappointed.
Wow, couldn't you return that machine? It sounds like that specific machine is a dud!
Jus purchased ours cant wait for it to be delivered next week!
Awesome!
Hello, just purchased this washer/dryer combo. Question, when you load your fabric softener , do you have to toggle the fabric softer button in order to dispense it or will it do it automatically….. ?
Toggle it
Does your washer make a grinding sound during wash cycle?
@@johntovar89 no - it doesn’t. My dryer did though
@@MrGizmo211 is there anyway I can send you a video of the noise mine makes, so you can compare to yours? I bought it used and the guy claims it’s always sounded like this
@@MrGizmo211 actually I’m posting a video on UA-cam now
So, I just bought the Samsung 5.2 cu ft Washer and Dryer and the washer doesn't remove hair from clothes.
Does it have an inside light when you open the top of the washing machine?
Not in the washer :)
What do you clean the washer itself with? I usually do with a gallon of white vinegar, thoughts?
Does the rinse cycle cause any vibrations to the house?
I watched reviews after already purchasing this 😆👌 only just did the other day so I don't have it yet but it sounds great! Anything was better than my old one that's about to kill over though. Dang thing shakes the whole house most times during the spin cycle 😬 and now it's leaking too. 😓 anyways, I'm excited to get mine! I got it from home depot in the champagne color 🍾
Hi. I'm about to get mine. I was thinking front load for me. Which one did you had?
@@aramrz6120 I got top load with the agitator. It's been great! It's pretty deep so I do have to use a stool to get everything from the bottom 😅 so I sometimes think I should have gotten front load but it's not a big deal and I've heard people had more issues with the front load 🤷♀️
This video was uploaded 2 year ago, how’s it holding up? I’m about to purchase this combo
Where does fabric softener go
What does the pet care setting on the this washer?
Which model is this one?
Do you have a soft water system in your house?
Didn’t see the link on how to remove the jingle in the description :/
Are front loading machines build different in the US? I've heard that complaint a lot now, that they get moldy etc. I'm european, and here the front loading type is the most common one (our top loading machines are actually different than the US version, too). People here never have much issues with mold or anything, after any washing cycle you just leave the door open and it will dry out by itself...
They also use less water and get the clothes clean because of the spinning motion, so you'll need less detergent too. The only issue: they take much more time, at least the european versions (up to 2.5 hrs).
I never understood how clothes are supposed to get clean while they just swim around for half an hour in a bunch of water, unless you use tons of chemistry...why spent all the money on a washing machine in the first place, just throw them in a sink filled with water and swirl them around every now and then...same effect, zero energy wasted :)
thanks for posting this video👍🏼 we're now enjoying our new samsung washer and dryer😊 we even love the alarm❤️ hahaha‼️
Glad to hear!
Where do you put the powder detergent that, I have the new Samsung 5.5 cu ft. It’s say “Liquid Only” but I have powder.
Where the liquid detergent goes it's just a blue insert that goes in there remove the blue insert and then you can put powder in.
Curious I have this washer and it seems like the wash times are obnoxious. Over and hour on many of them and if you add fabric softener it will add like 30 minutes to a normal wash. Like 1 hour 30 minutes total. Is this a problem or normal times?
How are people getting good use out their samsung he washers, my clothes have never had their stains taken out ever since switching to he washers
How do you change the filter?
So i have this and it does not clean the clothes well at all
Is this automatic does it dry clothes aswel ?
How do I get something out that is stuck between the inner tub and outer tub?
Hows the agitation of clothes without a middle agitator??
Only issue I have is after mines go through the cleaning cycle and start beeping it doesn’t want to drain sometimes.
Yes - you can definitely use pods.
Mr.
Im in the same boat i hope he has a tip
@@chrisj.2468 guess he has no answers
I have the exact same washer and love it, however, about a month ago, my spin button stopped working. I can't make it go up any higher, and also, now, as of this morning, my washer refuses to spin. :( I bought mine in Nov. of 2020. Any one else have any problems with theirs like this???
Will this washer and dryer be good for me cause I just bought the same ones but I have hard water in the area I am living .
Do you feel like it cleans your bed sheets good?
Goo gone will not work on the dryer but glass cleaner will work on the washer lid, inside and out
Not to send any ill-will your way but just a heads up, it's possible your heating element or thermostat could go out early.
Thank you for this. Cyber Monday sale on this one. Want this but my wife can't make up her mind :(
Does it have some filter that gets clogged after months or years?
I am getting my Samsung washer today just like yours. I have a question do you guys leave the lid up after you wash a load so it doesn't smell
I always do that! I also open the little drawer for laundry detergent.
That would be awesome thank you
Any fixes on this washer ? It shakes violently on spin cycle.. 😢
Stay with the battle tested I miss the old machines
I have the same Kenmore, same 80 series, in white. We just bought this Samsung set, front load washer, but do you think I'ma let my mom throw, sell the old ones... nahh. They've been going strong for 14 years now.
@@jesusmagana9650 I agree 100%
Mine have recently started leaving mysterious oil spots on some of my clothing.
I have owned the white model for five years. The rusting from bleach and detergent are really bad.
@@justjennifer5440
Hello.
I now wipe the “bleach compartment”dry after each use(this area was “rusted and softened” from the bleach) and I leave the
lid open to dry out the detergent area.
You xan also just use bleach on the self clean setting. Your washer should flag you to self clean every 20 loads.
Got mine this week and thrilled. Can anyone tell me what the water jet is for?
Thank u for sharing I have a choice between this n a GE for a $100.00 more it will be GE
@@juliek1102 I ended up getting a MayTag back in February because I was tired of repairs. The Maytag has been great.
Nice recap review, glad this set is working out for you.
Can you use tide pods in the detergent slot
No!! Only liquid…if you are gonna use pods just toss them in the load…
I have never had mold on a front loader or have it smell, they also do something top loaders don't do well, clean.
I just bought these they come tomorrow and im finding alot of bad reviews about samaung washer going out after a year i bought the 3 year warranty but im still worried i spent over 1600 for a washer and dryer did i make a good decision
Extended warranty is a good idea!! I think they actually have gotten much better!
Hey acabo de. Comprar esa lavadora y la conecte la puse a lavar y hace un ruido , me dijeron que tengo que quitarle una turca o un tornillo o algo así me podrías decir si tú le tuvisteis que quitar algo ?? Gracias
Is there a filter on this model washing machine? I’m having a problem with ours not draining .
There are mesh filters in the water hoses that the manual recommends you take out and clean every 6 months or so…but that shouldn’t affect draining. That’s only water coming in.
What is the model number?
Amazing Samsung is flawless
I got this washed yesterday n don't know to wrk it I try all kind of things n still not getting to wrk the way it supports help plz
TIA!
Yes - using Tide High Efficiency:).
I just got this washer. I don't think mine is filling up with enough water. while it is washing, most of the clothes are out of the water...they are damp but not getting much water. Any suggestions?
How about the water level when the wash starts?
I just got it today , I didn’t realize how deep it was until it was getting out my first load of clothes. Had to use a step stool I’m 5’4 . Felt like a toddler trying to reach the bottom….lol so keep a step stool next to the washer, careful I don’t fall in. 😂
I am 5’2” and hang over the edge to get the laundry out. Nice having large capacity but I almost disappear gettin a load out…..
I just bought one, being delivered Wednesday. I’m 5’1 so I’m definitely going to need a step stool 😂
I'm 6'2 and it's one of the deepest washers I've ever had. I've never had to hunch over a washer.
I got one today and I promptly got the hubby to fetch the socks out of the bottom. I am 4'11
I’m 5’4 and I also use a step stool to retrieve wash clothes and socks that tend to stick to the bottom. My sister is only 4’9 and she just hops up there!!
What color is that?
No excuse for not cleaning it - just select the Self-Clean option on the dial. 👍
Am about to buy it I hope it’s worth the price thank you
Is there a filter
I did not realize that it had the water Jet feature! I always soak my clothes, or have to use some type of spray and wash. I checked and it works! Had mine for over a year, lol and never noticed it.
I love that feature!
This is the best looking washing machine 💯
hi there - we have the same washer as yours but unable to open the door during a wash and every time have to pause and then restart to open the door. There is a button combination to disengage it but Samsung won't tell us saying that it is only for service repair staff. Any input?
Ugh!
What made you choose Samsung’s over LG’s top loaders?
who puts the washer on the right side?
I'm right handed - washer on left, dryer to the right.
My aunt recently bought this machine and she cannot get hot water in it! The most she can get is tepid, just barely warm. She is not happy about it.
How to you fix a 9C8 code?
Thanks, man. Pulled the trigger on one today.
Does it have a steamer?
No, but the matching dryer has 3 steam settings: refresh, dewrinkke and sanitize
Is it still working? My insignia broke with 3 years. I am looking for a new one.
Getting ready to buy this. Thanks for sharing this review to help me decide.
