Had my first interview via video conference today! One tip I’d add is before you start answering the questions, just do a quick check with your interviewers that they can see & hear you well 👍🏼
Thank you Linda, had a FaceTime interview yesterday 7/22 followed the steps. I looked like a UA-cam star. I looked like I was putting on a pod cast. The interviewer, Didn’t look so well. I got the offer. During the interview. Thanks u
I just got accepted in a position i really wanted! I literally watched all your videos and wrote down so many notes!! Thanks alot for your help ❤️❤️❤️🤗🤗🤗🤗
Confession: I've done a zoom meeting with a formal business shirt and silly pajama pants. It was one of my BEST MEETINGS EVER. I'd this secret that made me smile the whole training session. I'd totally recommend it at least once 🤭
I searched for quite a while on UA-cam until I found a straight forward, good quality video on interview call set up. Your videos are the best-straight to the point, down to earth, informative, and excellent quality. Thank you!
Hey Linda, I just wanted to say Thank you. Your tips were extremely helpful. I am usually not very good at job interviews, but after watching this and some of your earlier videos I got very positive feedback from the interviewers. I think these simple tips made me stand out. And I ended up getting the job!
I put books under my laptop too and made such a difference. Also I sat opposite window and put some lamp above so it soften the features. Brill tips. Most important do not have anything distracting in background. You can test it all way ahead of meeting/interview.
I heard the tip for stop looking at yourself is once you on the call you put a post it note over the small screen where you see yourself. It worked wonders.
Thank you Linda, I have experienced that the best way to look and sound natural in front of camera during online courses is using PPT Mirror app to convert your Powerpoint slides into teleprompter software, therefore you maintain eye contact and speak freely with the audience because you always have your whole concept in mind also your speech remains natural as you don't read word for word.
Very good tips! Thanks for sharing. I would also recommend making sure you’re dressed just like you would an in person interview and if you have notes be sure to focus on maintaining eye contact and just use notes as reference points (not to read from them). Also be sure to test out your technology and internet connections before hand. Good luck job seekers! :)
Thank you for the video, Linda! I agree that you should not need to purchase a new camera, although many people seem to recommend that. And lighting is definitely key!
I am about to face my 9 times failed dreamy interview again on this coming 23rd of Dec. I hope your guidance will play a bigger role at this time. Thanks a lot
Great job, Linda! Lots of excellent advice without being self-serving or long-winded. Plus, I appreciate your modeling your own recommendations. Much appreciated!

Thank you for the video. I am getting ready for my first zoom video applying for an internship at a human service agency. I got a lot of good tips from you about the camera angle and clothing that I have not considered.
David Karadine the tell me about your experience and education. There was about 3 scenario questions. I had to present a 7 minute power point. It just depends on the position and organization you apply for the types of questions. But for sure scenario questions
Thank you for this excellent video. However I was surprised you didn't cover the topic of "virtual backgrounds" in the backgrounds section. What do you think of them - assuming they are professional looking?
A great tips amazing the way you deliver its really clear your voice of tone everyone can understand I like and I done my thumbs-up my subscription keep it up. God bless
Hi Linda, how you create all these ideas.. you are truly amazing.🤗🤗💐💐 Linda I wish you to handle this topic, which is how to continue loving my job despite any negative things that may happen. I already love my job. Once I heard you Linda saying: your real job is the one that wakes you in the morning eager to work. From that time I taught my self to love my job. YOU are my role model in this life💐💐💐💐💐💐💐💐🏅🥇
Great tips on looking good while presenting yourself using video conferencing applications like Webex, Zoom, R-HUB HD video conferencing servers, Skype etc. Thank you for the same.
Girl no!! I can’t wear pj’s on the bottom cuz the interviewers DO ask you to stand up and turn around to make sure you’re fully dressed. You don’t wanna fall into that trap and then go oops
Wow, what kind of employer asks that? Do they ask if your bed is made too? If your kids have their hair combed? When you come to work, they going to check if your clothes are ironed and your pits smell good? I know I went far. I've interviewed with CEOs who are on their couch and in a hoodie.
@@momoVerse-z5h a couple of my potential employers, for example teaching. I had to give a demo lesson and they wanted to see if I was dressed fully too.
@@FransceneJK98 That makes sense that you're expected to teach/give presentations on a regular basis on camera. As someone in the software industry, I have never been asked and I would find it ridiculous if this was asked to anyone applying for a typical technical role.
Linda, what if the only (quiet/uninterrupted) place to do my video interview is inside my car while parked in the parking garage at work? How do I set up my backdrop or make it not obvious that I'm in a car? Shall I use a false backdrop in the Zoom settings?
Thanks Linda for your helpful and excellent videos. I just came across your videos this evening. Thanks again for sharing your knowledge and time with us. God bless!!! ♥️
Linda, there are so many good things to say about you and your information. One thing. You are driving me crazy the way you use your hands and gesture. They are way too busy, and it becomes distracting. It's not just energy. It is nervous energy. So while you have this beautiful smile and face, your arms and hands are tattle-telling on you that you are nervous. You also bounce a bit too much in your seat as you make your points. A couple of times, yes, but so much...too much! You can keep that same wonderful energy going, maybe even pull it back a bit, so you will not go over the top. It will help make you more believable and professional. (I know a lot of people will disagree with me on this.) You can still be perky, and bubbly, and excited without that nervous gesticulation. Remember, you are not only training your viewers. You are modeling interviewing behavior. Energy is great. Too much energy is read as childish or juvenile. Most employers don't want to hire juveniles. They want adults. Unless they want someone who is immature and that they can control them. (Give that some thought,) I could go on, but who asked me? You do a lovely job, Linda. Thank you for your video and information. Learn to settle down your hands and arms a bit, please. All the best to you! Congratulations on all the followers - way to go!
Biggest recommendation, take a benzodiazepine like Xanax or Klonopin before the interview. The nerves go away and you will kill it as long as you prepped your answers for a few days previous to the interview.
How did you get into career strategy? If I'm not mistaken, CPA means certified public accountant and CA means chartered accountant. How did you land up doing this..?

It’s about the background and lighting more than what color your wear. Crazy pattern is not okay for sure but black or white are absolutely fine.
