101 Dalmatians - The Creation of Cruella De Vil (Deleted Song)

- This is one of the first versions of the song "Cruella De Vil" written by Mel Leven in 1958. The title of this version is "The Creation of Cruella De Vil". I set the song to play alongside screen captures from the movie 101 Dalmatians and from story board art included on the special features DVD.

"She was staring at the witches
And when she caught their eyes
They all cried out 'Cruella!' and fell dead"
I dunno why, but that's my favorite part.
Believe it or not, when I first heard the name "Cruella de Vil," I was rightly under the impression that the name came directly from the phrase "cruel devil."
This deserves a remixed version
No lie. The lyrics would work really well with metal music
My favorite photo is of Hell Hall, what a cool place to live!
i thought walt wanted changed songs, but he like them. it was mel who made the change and everyone love his remade ones better.
Pretty interesting imagery in this song, I have to say. xD It makes her sound like a supernatural beast rather than a woman!
I mean, are they wrong in this song though?
So, this song is implying that Cruella is a literal monster, some sort of Lovecraftian entity that is so terrifying and horrible that she scared nine witches, who presumably knew what they were doing, to literal death by glaring at them, and this poor guy is driven nearly insane from the sheer fear that Cruella might show up and kill him. JESUS CHRIST!
So that why it was a deleted song
@@mr.weirdlly1454 That, and it doesn't fit with the version of what we eventually see in the final film
@@davidlewis5189 But it would fit the one in the "Once Upon A Time" series.
I love this version.
This would be great in the voice of Tom Waits!
cruella de vil is life
ever since I found this on the dvd my mom had of 101 dalmations, I've been trying to find this on the internet- didn't know it was on youtube all this time :D
Nicely done. The Pic at 1:27 gives me the creeps!
I had the plautium edition and this song terrifedme.
This version of cruel la De vils theme song made it sound like she isn't even human at all and she's really an unholy hellspawned demon
Nice job breaking it, witches! Dear God, it was bad enough that Cruella was a human, and that she could be any of us who gave into our worse nature but at least humans can be thrown in prison or stopped in some way. Lovecraftian things don't go away easily.
I agree those witches really blow when they created Cruella DiVall
This is actually cool.
Mel Levin was actually the original voice actor for Snoopy
Joe Mancini How so?
Oh wow
Are those storyboard drawings the work of Bill Peet?
I believe they are.
pretty sure yea
Very Great Amazing
Betty Lou Gerson Originated the role of Cruella in 1961's 101 Dalmatians
I think this is a better song than the one in the film because it tells more about cruella dev il
It doesn’t fit the zeitgeist (present day at the time) of the types of songs that were popular at the time. Plus, it’s not really how Cruella came into being, but an insult.
Yes I dosent fit but my sister got a better version by dr joan
Well now there’s an unpleasant lady I’m avoiding her type from now on
De Vil
yes Bill Peet did write the pictures
Cruella sure is evil like Vincent Price, Maleficent and Frollo.
I can see why they changed the song to the one that's in the film.
It's a nice song, but a don't like the way he says Cruella De Vil.
We Want To Hear Cruella De Vil Sing
Susanne Blakeslee is the best Cruella De Vil
Who sang this version?
@amimizunofan22 Agreed

Does anyone know how this got released to the public? Like, did It get released as a bonus on a DVD or something?
This song is catchy, but I liken it to the songs Humiliate The Boy & Why Me ( Jafar from Aladdin) and the Demo Version of Be Prepared ( Scar from Lion King): it fit with the earlier versions of the characters, but along the way they decided to tweak the characters to become the loveable, likeable villains we now know and the songs now do not fit...
Why was this deleted!?!?
It was too edgy for the movie.
Thank God they didn't use this version
Not only because it's worse than the one they used but, if they had used it, pretty much all of us would've been traumatized for life
See looks a bit like a female human version of me
Well, i like it, but the other one definitely fits the movie better, specially considering it's a kids movie
101 dalmatians book made 1956
this song is REALLY BAD! I am glad they didn't use it!
maleficentdiva Why do you think it’s bad song
@@mr.weirdlly1454 they commented this 9 years ago. Let it go lol
