How to Go BROKE After Earning $100 Million | Adrian Peterson

- Adrian Peterson has earned over $100 million in his career and is an example of what can go wrong with an athlete’s personal finances if he isn’t careful. Since he’s still signing contracts and playing into his late 30’s simply because he loves the game of football, he has surpassed $102 million in salary alone.

Adrian Peterson recently received a lawsuit from Deangelo Vehicle Sales LLC for $8.2 million asking to pay back a loan that has not been paid. It highlights an issue with professional athletes that many of them face financial hardship during/after their playing days.
I remember when everyone said I looked like him, it was awesome. Now everyone is gonna assume I'm broke...awesome...
haha
😅
Nah we already assume you don't got Adrian Peterson money or can run over linebackers like him trust me you'll be ok
Stylish D@ you were already broke.

But I mean they were normal people before they got rich so... 🙄
They were normal people, they still are normal people. Most people go broke after winning the lottery, don’t play that
Because that’s what really happens when people get handed that much money. Everyone thinks they’ll be a master investor and saver. Very few actually will be.
@@e13kid A big part of investing/saving is discipline. If you don't have it, it doesn't matter what knowledge you have on finance.
Athletes are easy targets for shady advisors and Investors. Majority of them go broke because of people in suits and ties.
Wow 7 kids with 4 women, if he's struggling now imagine how hard it will be in 10 years when he's got no money coming in and 7 kids who wanna go to college.

Exactly. Immediately I just said wow Spence that was a good one.
Ugh it was a sub par joke at best.
they only care about losing all their money AFTER they've lost their money. they've got people yelling at them all the time to invest some of the money and they don't want to hear it.
They got people telling them all kinds of things, including investing in sketchy things
You forget that AP was supposedly swindled out of a bunch of money from shady investments and advisors. Unfortunately athletes are easy targets for athletes. Even Drew Brees went thru a bad stretch
"The only thing you can't do is make Dan Blizerian's ignite company profitable"
Shots fired!
Adrian Peterson wasn't financially literate and had low self-esteem. That is why he spent his money on expensive luxury items and have 7 children with 5 women. Robert Kiyosaki teaching is clear and simple, rich people buy assets poor people buy liabilities.
As much as I disrespect Kiyosaki he nailed it
@@BassForever44 why you disrespect Kiyosaki?
Probably illiterate in a general sense, too, but pretty good at abusing toddlers by beating them with tree branches!
That was the only concept I really disliked Robert pushing. He wasn’t wrong, BUT if no one bought liabilities, there would be a SEVERE reduction of rich people, as well as some middle class and even lower class jobs and income. Monetary circulation is key.
In such videos rich definitely don't buy assets
Running backs have it the worst unfortunately, so many of them fall off so quickly due to the roughness of the game and they simply get released from the team.
Truth because they're getting tackled pretty much every time they get the ball they don't last very long and they're very expendable
who cares, they still get their signing bonus, it ain't hard to take half of it after taxes and put it in the stock market and let it sit.
@@zay_gzs5635 Also the hits from picking up the blitz during passing downs. That adds up too.

Adrian Peterson didn't go broke because he bought silly things. He just couldn't keep it in his pants.
Very true, very true👍🏿
how much is child support? 1k a month for 18 years is $216,000. Paying that for 7 kids is 1.5 million. He could afford that easily. he probably was scammed or blew his money on dumb stuff.
@@JusdoinstuF his child support was much more than that. I would imagine it was over 70k a month
@@kurtiscommerce1092 well that would be a scam then cuz no damn kid needs 70k every month
@@JusdoinstuF multiple kids and it’s based off of ones income. Is it silly? Yes. But he is just as silly. One kid by “mistake”? Okay... I’ll give you that. But multiple... and continuing to not learn from your previous “mistake”? Zero sympathy. Just another clown
A problem many of these guys have is that they refuse to downgrade their lifestyle. They still live in big houses, drive expensive cars and party and spend a lot even though they're broke
Can they really downgrade their lifestyle if they can't sell their house, cars and they still have to pay child support with the amount they made in the past. The only solution is to wear a condom and poor that seed in the toilet and flush it.
And make too many babies!
Dan Bilzerian can’t catch a break 🤣🤣🤣🤣
Indeed, it is sad when these millionaire athletes lose so much money. But then again, even rich athletes have never been trained in finances. Thanks for the interesting video! We can see that this area is one of your strengths!

Man, love the increase in sports financial content. This is your field to shine!!
Some people live off of what AP pays a month in child support. That is absolutely ridiculous. However, it's his fault for not protecting his seed.
100 mil is literally spending a mil from your birth to your death a year. and if you don't live to a 100 years, you have leftovers for your kids financial future.
Two things that will make you broke overnight.. Divorce and children
We love mocking athletes for their financial short comings but what about the majority of us leaving paycheck to paycheck. If you blow through your 80k annual salary, you will most likely blow through millions of dollar income
I can't say I agree, most people just make enough to make it, Peterson could have bought mansions in Minnesota and Texas and banked millions every year off renting one out.
Make as many excuses as you want this guy blew a hundred million dollars. Blowing that much money is foolish no matter who you are period.
I'm not one for sports, but I always find finance and behavior going hand in hand, which makes me find these videos very entertaining. Keep it up!
Yes. Once money starts to pour in, All athletes do is date models, buy mansions, luxury cars and all kind of reckless spending.
This is indeed behavioural issue.
Same here
The funny thing regular people that criticize athletes or celebrities that go broke won't understand unless they came into a lot of money. Look at how many lottery winners used their money wisely. It's just common for people who either were in the middle or lower class to view money as something to get rid off as soon a possible.
Net operating income doesn’t take into consideration numerous things. If you code something to special projects- leasing office furniture, new fitness equipment, parking lot repair, new irrigation system, etc. this does not take away from your NOI. Anything coded to special projects is generally an expense of 5k+. This adds up quickly. NOI doesn’t mean a lot in numerous circumstances.
Adrian Peterson is the best running back the nfl ever saw.
He is not a smart man though.

First word people need to learn when they get money is NO......unless you get a return on YOUR MONEY don't give it out..unless a person was there with you every step of the way don't give YOUR MONEY....YOU DONT NEED 6 HOUSES OR 20 CARS.....
It cost at least $250,000 minimum for a child to grow without health complications from age 0 to 18, but with their life style it probably cost more than million or two per kid.. no wonder they go broke after they retire from their career.
Money don’t make the man. The man make the money!!!!!
Lebron did it the smart way. He got the people close to him trained and qualified to help run his business. So the people he trusts the most are working for him and not just sponging off him.
Your getting better with the quips each video. Keep up the good work.

I remember being like 7 and already having the knowledge of knowing that if I had money I would buy my favorite restaurant because not only would I get free food but It would make me money so I would not have to work .. crazy how dumb these athletes really are with 100 mil..

It’s amazing how money makes money
You make really great videos
its always sad to see family and friends taking advantage of these athletes, especially when theyve been taking a beating their whole career to earn that money like football players do
Great video! AP has always been fun to watch on the field. But kinda painful to watch off the field. My opinion is his talent got him too much leeway too early. My theory on his fumble-tude is that when his HS coach told him to carry a ball at school, and other players would try to get it (a standard response to fumbling), AP said "I ain't doing that, I'm AP!" Coach backed down, AP fumbles to this day!! And the TIMING of the fumbles!
Lebron and Tom Brady are the opposite of so many pro athletes.
The script writing just keeps getting better over time

My older brother always say a man can have a strong body but weak mindset. But a man with a strong mindset can also have strong body. People work on your mindset because lack of knowledge leads you nowhere other then hold you back.
I truly hope theres a miracle and he gets in touch with you....
Spencer made such a great point. If you were such a star player and had some of these small restaurant bars or fast food places why wouldn't you do a once a month jersey and autograph signing. Or have multiple players come for lunch. Imagine how much beer and liquor you would sell. Instead of appearance fees just tell each patron to buy a drink at the bar and you can meet the players. I can think of several really big name players like Johnny Unitas who tried owning bowling alleys and small businesses and failed because of having bad managers people he trusted but didn't know how to run a business. So you do need the right people to run those operations. If they cash flow was positive for all these business I think you would just want to be the land lord and let the people running the place continue to operate as business as usual. If it ain't broke don't fix it just promote like Spencer said. Loved this video.
I really like this guys content
