You don't even need to look at your phone all the time. I always look around while I walk. just have your phone in your hand and when your phone vibrates you know a pokemon has spawned.
there are safety concerns with people walking around with their phones in their hand (pretty sure the theft rate has gone way up since PoGo released), so having PoGo+ does give that added security for people who can walk around safely but not miss on potential catches.
I can't see anything useful at all with this product. It takes out the fun part of Pokemon, ie seeing what you get from Pokestops, and interacting with the Pokemon you encounter while you're out and about. Just play on your phone without staring at it the whole time. It'll buzz to let you know when something's nearby.

I mean I guess it might be good for vlogging if you don't want to hold your phone and camera at the same time, but I'm still on the fence because the functions are so limited.
You should be able to throw more than just one ball. There should be a pokeball, great ball, ultra ball, and razz berry button. For $35-75, that's what it needs to be worth it for me.
Its useful whilst in transit (going to and from work especially). Also I use it when I going running. So it kind of depends who buys it. I would like a customization feature, that allows you to select which Pokeball should be used for each Pokemon. Like a pre-selection, SO Lapras and Snorlax could be set to Ultraball etc.
Or change the pokeball to simply the highest rated ball in your bag. Throwing an ultra ball would be highest priority. Also, they could add in extra incentive, like all Pokemon found using PGP (Pokemon Go Plus) would be stronger than those not found with it, but easier to catch. Considering they already released the devices, it will be hard to modify the device (ie upgrade them) without doing a total recall, so changing the way PGP effects gameplay would make more sense.
Gnome You wouldn't. I'm saying PGP would default to it, in exchange for not knowing what you're catching. It would really push to the idea of "using it to match your style." If you're somebody that doesn't like to stand still, defaulting to the strongest ball you have would be good. If you're able to stop and take your phone out to catch a Pokemon, you can do that and use any ball you like. As Nick said, it depends on your play style. However, with the way the PGP works now, simply pressing the button is A LOT riskier if you encounter a rare Pokemon. That's where my idea comes into play.

I have a few questions, If you can answer them: - Does it alert you when you're close to a Gym? - Does it track movement the same way the app does (by polling your GPS position every minute than "drawing" a straight line) or does it count steps? - Does the app running on the background still drains your phone's battery as much as on the foreground? - Do you need to lock your phone with the app on the foreground or can you just press the home button and keep using other apps and it still tracks everything? Every youtuber I've seen demonstrated it by just pressing the lock button on their phones with the game running. Thanks! XD
Battery drain is higher because it uses GPS, drain is device dependent, but not nearly as high as with the screen on. Distance tracking is the same, it is no more accurate. You can press the home button and go into other apps. If your device doesn't have much RAM, the app may get recycled (stop running), this sometimes happens on my iPhone 5c. It does not alert you when you're near a gym. I answer a few more questions on my channel.
smithydll Too bad about the battery and movement tracking. I was hoping the Plus was a pedometer and that it would make the movement tracking more accurate. And the battery, I kind of figured. The app is still running and using GPS and internet after all. But I was still hoping, for some reason. thanks, man!
Press once for regular pokeball. Hold 2 secs for great ball. Press twice quick for ultra ball. Such a great feature this is! Too bad no support for raspberries yet :(
Well apparently in his area Drowzee is not common, plus Hypno is actually quite decent. Whereas Manchester, England, for example, is infested with them- but at the same time I have never seen a wild Ekans.
Nick can you do an update on the Go Plus since there has been so many updates to the game itself? Does it still work just as well, better, or worse since the raids update?
I had Pidgeot as my buddy for a while. switched it for Magikarp. not for the candies. I just love the Pidgey evolutions and I love Pidgeot. I have to have one EVERY Pokémon game play through. Currently very sad in Diamond right now as you can imagine.... its a small, but satisfying joy you get when you see your favorite Pokemon right behind you in true scale~
I live in SoCal and rarely ever see any Drowzee or Porygon.... Which explains why Nick is trying to evolve his Drowzee since he lives in SoCal as well.
+1 Belgium, land of Drowzee, Weedle, Rattata and Pidgey. I move here one month ago from Spain and I'm already regret it. I cant power up my Dragonite since Im here.
Yeah its interesting how areas spawn things so differently. I live in Los Angeles where Nick does and I've evolved like 20 growliths into arcanines and geodudes to golems. I've seen high level youtubers from Europe still working on their first Arcanine. I met someone from east coast US shocked and amazed we have ekans here because they have none, but they have like 5 victrebel since bellsprout is their trash pokemon and I barely got one lol.
know this was posted 2 years ago but now to my knowledge, you can connect pokemon go to the fitness app in your phone so it will track how much you walk while the app is closed or in the background. You don't need any sort of Fitbit, just the fitness account linked with the same email that you use for Pokemon go. Don't know if this was a recent update or not. I haven't been playing pokemon go too much.
I don't really use mine at the moment but with temperatures during the winter dropping to minus 20 centigrade, and rain and cold already making things difficult I have the feeling it will be necessary. I'll have this in my pocket, and although I'll miss a lot of pokemon by letting the device catch for me, I'll at least be able to continue playing and catch something :)
I know the pokeball plus did not exist when you create this video but people in my time does go by the pokeball plus it works the same way as the Pokémon go plus does
Pass until Niantic works out some of the kinks like disconnect, success rate, and ball choice. And since this is Niantic we're talking about... I'll probably be waiting until December... 2018.
does not work. It only works with poke balls. If you only have great or ultra balls the plus device will give a red flash immediatly and you will get a notification that you do not have any poke bals in your inventory.
I had a feeling it would be a let down. I'm so glad I didn't preorder it because I would have been very disappointed. I'm not interested if I can't even tell what the heck I'm trying to catch. It seems like most good things would have a relatively low success rate, too. Anything you need you are probably unlikely to catch. Anything you are likely to catch is probably just common trash anyway. Might as well just play with the phone so you don't miss anything important. I'm also not sure how 35 dollars is worth what you could more or less just do in battery saver mode. That saves battery, too. And when my phone vibrates letting me know there is a pokemon, I always just take out and/or flip my phone to see what it is. And I can still get egg distance holding it upside down or even in my pocket. So it is basically the same damn thing. I guess it let's you hit stops a little better, but is that really worth that money? I'm surprised Nick actually thinks so.
I'm truly glad that works for you. Battery saver mode has been broken from day one for me. Not only does it not vibrate when the screen turns back on it doesn't respond to touches. S no GO for me lel
Two Good It glitches sometimes for me. But honestly it works more than it doesn't. Not great but at least you don't pay extra for a very limited device. A little advice, though. You are still in most cases probably better off just playing normal and using the money on battery charger to extend your battery life. Heck, I got a flimsy little 5 dollar battery charger that practically doubles my max battery life even without using battery saver mode. And if that doesn't work for you, you can get far better ones for whatever price range you feel comfortable paying. In my case, the 5 dollar charger is sufficient for everything I do. I saved 30 dollars to not miss rare or important pokemon or even the opportunity to try and find them. My point is save that money and use it on a battery charger. You can likely get a pretty decent one for 35 dollars or less and will be far better off in most cases.
Preston Huntsinger I wouldn't. My regular phone version does everything I need it to do. And as far as extending battery life, I found a 5 dollar batter charger that was sufficient for my needs. Why would I pay double or triple that to have less features or be forced to just use my phone anyway? I saved 30 dollars, don't miss out on the opportunity to catch rares, and have plenty of battery life.
I appreciate the effort you make when recording these, like the shots where you have to place your camera down to take walking cinematic scenes. or how your have the camera set up before you enter the car to record the scene. It's the little things. Good work dude.
I'm confused. With the game running on the background and GO Plus on, you can walk around all day and do your stuff without really interacting with the game (except from pushing a button from time to time). Then I can't decide if you're playing all the time or not playing at all.
Love the final reflection on it in the end. This feature should have been in the game in the first place. I still like the idea of it and the watches. Still would like to see the "run game in background" feature without any external device...
@@user-in4sg1nt4t 0149 6486 1878 Same! My GPS never worked right but it seems a lot better now. Plus there's two gyms near my house. Can't wait for a new pogo friend. I only have like 2 so far 😂
they need to seriously switch these Pokemon's just as they do with nests. there's so many drowzees here in the UK, I've honestly caught well over 500. since the nests haven't even changed yet I'm no longer interested in playing. I've already spent a lot of money to play this game and can no longer be asked to spend more money travelling around to catch pokemon.
does it has a better gps accuracy than the app? I went for a walk in a small square today and I use pokemon go with the Nike+run app in the background. Although I have walked 1200 meters, pokemon go registered only 500 meters.
The game only tracks your distance in increments of 1 minute. If you are back tracking it will not count. If you are walking in a small square it will cut off some meters.
But features like that should have been part of the game to begin with. So many running/exercise apps have no problem recording your walked distance when the app is off and using the phone's built in step counter. But Pokemon go decide to take that away and instead sell you those features in an accessory.
Can't believe you have Drowzee as your buddy! We have so many of them in Anchorage, Alaska! We have Drowzee infestation here and see them more than Pidgys or Rattatas. I really like your comment about GoPlus. They should have allowed Pokemon Go to run in the background in the first place. That alone probably turned off many players.
Something that I have been doing with my Pokémon Go Plus device is farming stardust, and hatching eggs during the day when I can not focus on the game. I tend to get about 35,000 - 50,000 stardust a day by walking around and going through my daily routine using the Plus every time it pops a notification. That alone has made it worth the money in the long run, also running the app in the background has helped immensely with battery consumption. It is not perfectly implemented but it is a step in the right direction from a gameplay aspect in my opinion.
So gonna use this at my work. I work in a factory and were not allowed to take out our phones during work and I’m always on my feet moving around so this will be a godsend for me
Pokemon Go plus would be more useful if there's an indicator of how rare the Pokemon is.. Whether it's color or pulses of vibration. Another way it to be able to set it up in game so that Pokemon go plus won't track or only track Pokemon.
I'm with you Nick. I would much rather save my money for an AndroidWare watch and wait for the app. For anybody wondering these are the top 5 smartwatches I'm looking at. 1. Asus ZenWatch 3 2. Samsung Gear S3 Classic 3. Moto 360 2nd Gen. 4. Asus ZenWatch 2 5. Samsung Gear S2 Dark Grey
Right now I'm liking the Asus ZenWatch 3 the most, but that won't be out until October. Though the ZenWatch 2 was pretty good, so I'm expecting it should be about the same performance with a new design. The Moto 360 has the best reviews right now. The Gear S2 gives similar performance and looks the most like a normal athletic watch, so if you don't want to attract a lot of attention to it that's a good option. The Gear S3 Classic is going to be a premium like the Moto 360 and will stand out more while still looking like just a normal expensive watch. The ZenWatch 2 will give you the biggest screen because it's rectangular instead of circular, it's a pretty good option right now. If you want one that looks more like a normal watch then wait for the ZenWatch 3. Watch some reviews on these and see which one has the features and style you like. Those are the major differences between all of these watches.
I have no idea. Watch a comparison video, there should be quite a few out there. I actually had a hard time finding where to buy even the 42mm version of the 2nd gen. The only option on Motorola's site is the 46mm, which would look too big on my small wrists. Amazon has the best prices for the Moto 360 as far as I've seen. I think until reviews come out for the ZenWatch 3, I'm going to plan on getting the Moto 360 2nd gen 42mm. I found it on the Google store for $300 and the metal band for it on Newegg for $55.
I would buy this if it was around 10-15 dollars. Why pay $35 just so you don't look like you're lost and don't know how to use Google Maps when you're playing Pokemon out in public. Nintendo will get a lot more money if they decreased the prices by half because more people would be willing to pay 10 dollars over 35.
i would like it if there was an option to select to turn off the green or yellow flashing lights so that if you wanted to walk through a pokestop hotspot to restock your bag you could with out having to worry about missing pokemon.
Wanted for poke plus to automatically spin the pokestops, thats the only feature I wanted for this accessory and thought thats how it was going to be. When I go pokemon hunting I'm usually low on balls so I need to go in circles for 30min for those balls. But during the day I walk a lot in near pokestops, but I can't take out my phone for multiple reasons like i'm in a hurry, or something job related or walk with friends who don't play pokemon, etc.
To me, it seems like the only "useful" aspect of Plus is step counting for eggs and buddies and spinning pokestops. Otherwise, it's not worth $35. You don't know what you're trying to catch, you can only use pokeballs, and the notification on your phone won't even tell you what you've caught or what fled. Hell, it won't even tell you what items you got from pokestops. You still have to open Go to find out all this info. Kinda cheap. Yes, it saves battery, which drains WAY faster after the last update, but with the the device's limited capabilities, I'd rather carry around a portable rechargeable battery charger.
Is the PoGo Plus still working while driving as passanger? (or bus) Or is this also ruined since the update that prohibits pokestops spinned while on a higher speed?
EpicUndead well shit I brought the plus thing because I’m the only one who drives and my friends prefer to concentrate on their own games which I don’t blame them. Still it’s nice to not have to stare at my phone to see stuff pop up 😂 thanks for the reply :)
when it buzzes you just hit the button. dont have to look what happens, you can see that later. i guess its distracted driving but if you can press it without looking, i doubt it will cause a lot of harm. i think this will decrease the amount of car accidents with pokemon go actually
Clicking a button on the device to me is no different than adjusting the volume on my music or changing the track. Plus, if I'm driving, I'm not playing on my phone at all... catching zero Pokemon, collecting zero items. With this, even if there's a low catch rate, at least I'm getting a chance at something.
The spinning pokestops is insane. If you live on or near one, it will just spin nonstop as long as you're connected. I got pokeball plus and going to work nets me like 50 balls in one direction. That's insane.
i think Niantic can improve the Pokemon go plus experience by adding features like: 1- The ability to choose (about 3) favorite Pokemon with the own color so the Pokemon plus notifies you when it founds one and let you choose to catch it from the phone. The purpose is to be aware of those Pokemon you really need. 2- Using the same method perhaps you can create a ¨ignore list¨ of those Pokemon that you are not interested at the time so the Pokemon plus will ignore it. 3- I guess the best feature will be that the Pokemon will notify you if an egg its ready to hatch so you don't need to open the app every time to see your egg hatching progression.

I answer a few more questions on my channel.
smithydll
Too bad about the battery and movement tracking. I was hoping the Plus was a pedometer and that it would make the movement tracking more accurate.
And the battery, I kind of figured. The app is still running and using GPS and internet after all. But I was still hoping, for some reason.
thanks, man!

bro i'm lvl 25 and caught like 500 drowzees so far. selecting a drowzee as a Buddy seems surreal to me
thought the same thing hahaha
lucky, he's one of my favorite Pokemon and the only 2 I have are from eggs I've hatched
Well apparently in his area Drowzee is not common, plus Hypno is actually quite decent. Whereas Manchester, England, for example, is infested with them- but at the same time I have never seen a wild Ekans.
I see ekans EVERYWHERE. I ignore them now. Sucks that arbok isn't too good though
Seen: 34 Caught:32
and that's Hypno :P
Nick can you do an update on the Go Plus since there has been so many updates to the game itself? Does it still work just as well, better, or worse since the raids update?
It still works i use mine yall got lucky when it was 35 dollars i paid 40 dollars for mine
lemme get straight to the point, why the heck is drowzee Your buddy pokemon?
Not common for him. Simple
Funny how drowzee's are common to a lot of players while I haven't seen one yet in the wild. Lol. xD
I had Pidgeot as my buddy for a while. switched it for Magikarp.
not for the candies.
I just love the Pidgey evolutions and I love Pidgeot.
I have to have one EVERY Pokémon game play through. Currently very sad in Diamond right now as you can imagine....
its a small, but satisfying joy you get when you see your favorite Pokemon right behind you in true scale~
so many drowzees here in germany I don't even catch them anymore... They spawn more than pidgeys and rattatas...
In the US it's rarer than a chansey. Haven't seen one on nearby once
I can't believe you have a drowsee as your buddy lol. Here in Canada drowsee are trash as common as pidgeys
I'm in California and have found twice as many Porygon than Drowzee. 😕
I live in SoCal and rarely ever see any Drowzee or Porygon.... Which explains why Nick is trying to evolve his Drowzee since he lives in SoCal as well.
I live in England, the land of Drowzee...
I met someone from east coast US shocked and amazed we have ekans here because they have none, but they have like 5 victrebel since bellsprout is their trash pokemon and I barely got one lol.
you are like the only best poketuber who doesnt use click bait 👏👏 nice vids dude
You can’t use clickbait but you can use clickbait THUMBNAILS.
know this was posted 2 years ago but now to my knowledge, you can connect pokemon go to the fitness app in your phone so it will track how much you walk while the app is closed or in the background.
Ugh, damn shame, but definitely true.
I'm waiting till marriage
all u have 2 do is only have great balls in yur inventory like me
does not work. It only works with poke balls. If you only have great or ultra balls the plus device will give a red flash immediatly and you will get a notification that you do not have any poke bals in your inventory.
Thats BULL lol what a let down.
I would buy it for like 10 to 15 dollars
Oh I know guy, I got myself a 20800mah battery because go is thirsty. well and keeping like 6 phone batteries in my pocket is nice in general

😂
are you playing the game, or is the game playing you! =p
Love the final reflection on it in the end. This feature should have been in the game in the first place. I still like the idea of it and the watches. Still would like to see the "run game in background" feature without any external device...

I think battery saver mode on the app itself is useful, when it comes to battery saving and notifying you (by vibration) if theres a pkmn nearby.
will you be playing pokemon sun/moon ?
It's interesting how you don't have Drowzees.
Got to reduce the risk of rape. You know what they're like
they need to seriously switch these Pokemon's just as they do with nests. there's so many drowzees here in the UK, I've honestly caught well over 500. since the nests haven't even changed yet I'm no longer interested in playing. I've already spent a lot of money to play this game and can no longer be asked to spend more money travelling around to catch pokemon.
and car accidents
Im in central America and I've only seen and caught one Drowzee
As memestar said, UK has little to no variety of pokemon and I've just quit pokemon go.

does it has a better gps accuracy than the app? I went for a walk in a small square today and I use pokemon go with the Nike+run app in the background. Although I have walked 1200 meters, pokemon go registered only 500 meters.
The game only tracks your distance in increments of 1 minute. If you are back tracking it will not count. If you are walking in a small square it will cut off some meters.
It does not have a GPS it just keeps the app on your phone working in the background
thanks for the help. I'll probably make another route for walk (with more straight lines)
Well that answered just about every question I had. Thank you for making this.
so... you can still hatch eggs without turning on your phone? that's it i'm buying it ASAP when they restock it
Yes you can
I SOMEHOW got one yesterday
But features like that should have been part of the game to begin with. So many running/exercise apps have no problem recording your walked distance when the app is off and using the phone's built in step counter. But Pokemon go decide to take that away and instead sell you those features in an accessory.
Nicholas Nara ... did it ever get restocked?
Thats a feature without

I would love to see an updated video regarding the Pokemon Go Plus device. Has there been any changes to it's success rate for catching etc?
What happens if you have max items in you bag when you spin a pokestop with the plus?
my guess is it flashes red.
Yes. It flashes red and you can't collect your items, same when your pokemon box is full.
Yes you get 50 exp if you dont have any item space
yep
So now they will all be staring at their watches
Can't believe you have Drowzee as your buddy! We have so many of them in Anchorage, Alaska! We have Drowzee infestation here and see them more than Pidgys or Rattatas.
I really like your comment about GoPlus. They should have allowed Pokemon Go to run in the background in the first place. That alone probably turned off many players.
This would be amazing for when I'm at work though for sure.
You *still* haven't gotten a free watch yet from a company that wants to plug their watch ?!?
ikr where the promotions at

mvmt watches here we come?
I offered my old Pebble LOL.
Glad I'm gonna say this but is anyone watching in 2020

Really enjoy your channel. Gives me peace brother! Makes my day a little better ever time.
the pokemon go plus might be made for less accidents to happen since you only look at the phone and not look at the surroundings.
This dude: they should make a notification sistem and a distance meter....
Niantic and Nintendo:WRITE THAT DOWN WRITE THAT DOWN
So gonna use this at my work. I work in a factory and were not allowed to take out our phones during work and I’m always on my feet moving around so this will be a godsend for me
Would be 10x better if it shows you which pokemon your encountering
Pokemon Go plus would be more useful if there's an indicator of how rare the Pokemon is.. Whether it's color or pulses of vibration. Another way it to be able to set it up in game so that Pokemon go plus won't track or only track Pokemon.
You choose
well the problem is that different pokemon are Common in different areas^^
maybe use the color of the circle when catching? so you know if a simple pokeball will do it, or you should take out your phone
This is my favorite Pokémon go channel👍Keep up the good work!
I'm with you Nick. I would much rather save my money for an AndroidWare watch and wait for the app.
For anybody wondering these are the top 5 smartwatches I'm looking at.
1. Asus ZenWatch 3
2. Samsung Gear S3 Classic
3. Moto 360 2nd Gen.
4. Asus ZenWatch 2
5. Samsung Gear S2 Dark Grey
which one would you recommend? and are they all around the same price? because I know the moto 2nd gen is like $350 or something.
Those are the major differences between all of these watches.
do you know if the moto 360 1st gen still worth buying? or it is outdated?
Plus, the demand for a Pokemon Go Plus will be greater since more people can afford the cheap prices
niantic.. not nintendo
It both
It is crazy sold out right now with no ETA to restock. If anything they could have charged more.
i would like it if there was an option to select to turn off the green or yellow flashing lights so that if you wanted to walk through a pokestop hotspot to restock your bag you could with out having to worry about missing pokemon.
Actually, the doduo at 5:42 was cp420.
Hope you loled.
So?

GoPlus is their version of DLC content lol
bro if theres dlc content ill still buy it anyway XD
u like eating subs?
(or bus)
Or is this also ruined since the update that prohibits pokestops spinned while on a higher speed?
They really needed to fuck off with that
Wait you can’t spin while driving?
EpicUndead well shit I brought the plus thing because I’m the only one who drives and my friends prefer to concentrate on their own games which I don’t blame them. Still it’s nice to not have to stare at my phone to see stuff pop up 😂 thanks for the reply :)
EpicUndead it’s annoying when it gets going, vibrates frantically. Like if I don’t wana catch anything I just bugs out until you get out of range
I did a pre-order one month ago @ Amazon Spain and got it last week. Outstanding gadget!
team instinct! all the way!!!
That would be a nice thing to have while driving.
:D lol
Yeah just clip it onto your steering wheel and hit it every time it blinks ... but that's still distracted driving.
when it buzzes you just hit the button. dont have to look what happens, you can see that later. i guess its distracted driving but if you can press it without looking, i doubt it will cause a lot of harm. i think this will decrease the amount of car accidents with pokemon go actually
Clicking a button on the device to me is no different than adjusting the volume on my music or changing the track. Plus, if I'm driving, I'm not playing on my phone at all... catching zero Pokemon, collecting zero items. With this, even if there's a low catch rate, at least I'm getting a chance at something.
Laley Pops exactly!
The spinning pokestops is insane. If you live on or near one, it will just spin nonstop as long as you're connected. I got pokeball plus and going to work nets me like 50 balls in one direction. That's insane.
I'm early.
How do you recharge it?
more than likely it's a replaceable watch battery
If that's the case, that's pretty freaking terrible...
Moghul how so? giving it a recharge feature with a micro USB would've made it more expensive
I doubt it will use batteries like crazy
The device runs on a button cell battery and the manual claims that it typically last for 100 days.

Ezekiel Novotny hahahha very funny
Bro u can't catch any pokemon with adventure sync
9:58 and a meme was born..
i think Niantic can improve the Pokemon go plus experience by adding features like:
1- The ability to choose (about 3) favorite Pokemon with the own color so the Pokemon plus notifies you when it founds one and let you choose to catch it from the phone.
WIFI, location and now Blootooth, gg wp batery
The question is. Can we use it in school?
