- Agni Parthene, in Arabic عذراءُ يا أمَ الإله and in Greek, Ἁγνὴ Παρθένε, means "O Pure Virgin". It is a Greek Marian hymn composed by St. Nectarios of Aegina in the late 19th century.
The Byzantine hymn is composed of 3 tunes with their respective 3 responses. In total, It has 4 verses. I played here 2 verses only. In the first verse, I chose the original notation with a small variation in the second response of Tune B(Slavonic: D minor instead of D major). In the second verse, I changed the ending of Tune A twice (b flat note instead of b) and Tune C as some interpreters do, and added some melodic decorations. Hope you enjoy it.
For the ones interested in music sheet, I only have the basic notations with the chords. It’s too difficult to write a tutorial because there’s a lot things going inside the song (ornaments, hammer on and pull offs, slides...).
The music sheet I used basically is upload.wikimed...
I've changed the key to Am and used a Capo on fret 2. Also, I've added an Intro and an Outro.

Yes it is perfect hymn. When I listen first time I felt the piety of the composer... I think kindness effect our heart and some music coming from heart... If it didn't come to heart, how they'll effect a lot of People?

Imagine a world where these melodies are performed in the taverns !!!!
That would be a World where a tavern is filled with God loving people who see eachother when they confess at saterday even and sunday Monday to attend divine literturgy, taking communion together and on monday while for example -> Joe picks up edgar, vlad is praying the Jesus prayer on the back seat, they go to Maria who needed her pavement fixed.. Matheos, the husband of Maria is in to studio to practice his Guitarwork for Friday eve.
And the Wife of Joe is washing laundry after bringing kids to school. After she goed to Edgar's Sister to Practice the songs for Saterday and Sunday in Church. Maria works only on Friday when the Men and woman go the Tavern.
Such things only happen in very very united Orthodox communities that actually are very inbedded in local society.
