Thanks so much for the insight, Kelvin. Just last week, I saw that same kick mic in use at an in-room event with about 300 people, and it sounded incredible. This topic really hits home for me, especially since my local church is setting up a new drum set soon. We're currently using a 5-mic system, so this gives me a great reason to push for a few more. Appreciate you sharing this! P.S. I’ll message you again today-I’ve got a few ideas I think you might want to hear.
As usual, another great video Kelvin! I don't know how many of us were expecting to hear at the end of the video: "Well, here's an demo/sample of what the drums sound like with all mics on" 😅 Thank you.
To be fair, I was expecting to hear that too 😀. I've saved that for another video. I thought this video was already too long, and I aim to show a demo of all mic techniques. Thanks for your comment.
Hey Kev,thank you so much. great help from this video. But i have a question concerning the kick. How to properly muffle the interior of the kick drum to achieve a good quality sound. Also using the Yamaha mg series, you can do a video on how to run the EQ of a drumset using that analogue mixer.
Hello Kelvin thanks alot for the knowledge you have been sharing thus far on live sound and audio setup. I have sign up for the course on the fundamentals of live sound still haven't gotten any response on how i can access the course
Thanks Victor, for signing up. The course has not launched yet. It would be available in few weeks time, and you'd get a few emails leading up to the release date.
Not exactly. The Kick-in emphasises the punchy high frequency sound of the beater hitting the drum head and some reasonable amount of low frequency as well. The Kick-out on the other hand, focuses primarily on the huge deep low end of the drum. Your EQ settings would also be different to emphasise both types of sound.
Hello Kevin. Thank you for your videos, I'm learning a lot. Well, after watching many of your videos, our church admin agreed to buy the Yamaha mg24. But please how do I Livestream sound with the focusrite Scarlett 2i2 audio interface because we've always been using a Yamaha 12 channel analog mixer and I have been streaming with the aux knob through the send output. Please help me how I can have everything drums, guitars, keyboard, backups, preachers ... Everything in the online sound. Thank you
Also i have a question, in consider the purchase of the 7microphone, usually comes with a two condenser mic which os powered with 48v. Im my church am currently using a yamaha MG24fx. The channel line doesn't allow 48v to be assigned on a particular channel how do i go about it

No need to worry. Just turn on the phantom power for the channels. You can assign +48V to dynamic mic as well and it should be fine.
@@KelvinEriaganoma okay thank you I will try it
