Wow, this is a very thorough comparison video. I have been thinking of getting one of these two pads and currently the MPX390 is on sale and is only $20 more than the MPC450 and you have made my decision much more easier (surely getting the 390). Instant sub and like for you Bob! Thank you for doing these tests.
Man, REAL measurements. Real quantitative data. THANK YOU so much! This is all I've wanted. The autopopulated search queries are not kind to me. Love your thoroughness
I hear you, why I do this as I want this data.. how else do people quantify their findings??? they don't they just guess/estimate. This is fine but its not for me I like data to compare
3 years on and these still look like just about the best speed pads on the market. I'm thinking the 450 will be better for wrist aim though, as a bit of extra cushioning, and some extra grip on the desk, is going to help with anchoring the back of my palm in place. Also I have a canary yellow keyboard so I think the colourways will complement each other well.
I think that the silicone base has an impact on the glide feel you get compared to the MPC 450. I have both and bought this one out of curiosity and have found it more satisfying to use. Saying that, I agree that the price difference is really hard to justify but if you can afford it I really think it feels better. Good review.
Thanks for the video! I love my MPC450, so thought I'd grab an MPX390 for fun. I've now shelved the MPC450 and only use the MPX390. As a wrist aimer, I love the lower static friction, smoother surface and better stitching. Is the MPX390 a worthwhile upgrade? No. But if you can afford it and prefer an even faster pad with better stitching, then I'd recommend it.
@@Beardedbob I forgot to add that I'm using a Logitech GPX Superlight and Corepads (V2). I have no doubt the experience will vary with different skates and mice!
Your Mouspad comparison videos are AWESOME. Could you make a Video of all of your Mousepads that you have evere tested? A graphic with all of your speed/control graphics in gramm in one video - this will be "that Mousepad comparison video", who everybody loves. "The Mother of Mousepad comparison Videos" On this way, other people and me could see what Mousepad is a bit slower or faster to that mousepad that i actually use. Some people love that mousepad what is allready in use, but will try another whar is a bit slower or faster. I have spend many hours to find a video or website where anyone compare "all" sort of mousepads, but find nothing like you do your tests. With graphics and not what this guy who test the pads prefers on his own feeling.
Thanks man glad you like the content/detail. I'll look to do that once I've gotten through the mountain of pads I have :-p. until then just check my latest video and it should have the updated chart. I also have it at www.beardedbob.com
How's the durability and glide after this long time? Does washing it revives its new like glide? Since I play on the quite high sense I don't mind small pads if it offers good durability and smooth glide.
Thanks so much! Awesome stuff! Will be trying the MPC450 and HyperX Fury S Speed to replace my Logitech G640 with a Glorious Model D- currently, but likely replace that with Logitech Ultralight.. hopefully soon. Take care!
@@MrShoniBare Any reasons? Mousepad preference depends on how much speed/control you need with your mouse. Are you able to compare it? Dont think I will bother trying it at that price, currently. Have tried most other pads, currently love the G640
@@Beardedbob Thanks Bob, as I was waiting for the answer I decided to tear it down and there is only 3 screws under the feets. Comes off the same way as Mini. I will be happy to see any additional modding for making clicks, post/pre-travel superb! Watching out for your video! ;)

Any chance you'll review the Xtrfy GP4?
Do one for the biggest mouse pad I would watch that

great work bob! looking forward to seeing your measured friction chart. This is the best depth material out there

Good review.
Thanks for excellent comparsion Bob!
Yeah it could, I feel its a little firmer with the silicon base and that might be why its a faster glide.
Thanks man glad you liked it..
Bob, did you ever try lube surface for faster movement? Interesting to try lube mousepad surface with crytox
wow, the statistics you included on mouse pad glide force that's some insane data you've created! thanks for the comprehensive video!
it was nuts, I need to get back into it but others have copied me now
Really refreshing review. No music, just your voice in HD. Also, very nice close-up shots of the stitching.

Do you have some idea which is faster, any of these two or rog scabbard 1? Or mpx and rog 1 are almost on the same level?

haven't tested the 390 enough to say but the mpc450 seems to be lasting well.
I just love this channel! Thanks for the content!
Thanks man, glad you like the channel/content. 😍
I can't find any info on "cuda fabric", am I spelling it right or is it a weave style?
Is it slang for cordura? I'm trying to source the best cordura fabric for my own custom mouse pad experiment.
yep it is.
Love your content, what mouse pad do you use as your daily?
MPC450 atm, here's my review ua-cam.com/video/NEQSTVMSk6g/v-deo.html

the endgame cordura mouse pads are better than the zowie G-SR-SE?
IMO yes MPC450 is awesome
Nice...I'm getting the MPC450 ....Bigger... Much cheaper , Performs just as well as the 390 .
Were you able to get the logo off or did you even try? Its an expensive pad to try it out on for sure lol.
Still not tried sorry.
Does Razer DA v2 disassemble the same way as DA v2 Mini ?
I need to check but will do, keep your eye out for a teardown on it.

Neither before they get rid of the big ugly text logo, which even affects the performance negatively.
Nope it's still there. I'm sure they will look to remove it
