Visit the Neuschwanstein Castle in Bavaria, Germany.
Located in the south of Germany, in the famous German Alps region, the Neuschwanstein castle is one of Europe's most scenic and famous castles, and indeed the world. The castle even inspired the Walt Disney castle and logo.
Head towards Munich, in the south of Germany. You can reach Munich by air, train, or car. From there, head further south towards Schwangau and then Hohenschwangau. There are many bus tours and day trips from Munich or other cities to Neuschwanstein.
Reserve a few hours to walk up the mountains, visit the castle, enjoy local food and drink, and enjoy nature and the fantastic views.
Book your tickets online or via a tour operator. I suggest taking the bus uphill (costs 3 Euros) which stops near the Marienbridge, and then walk down. Else you can enjoy a 35 minute walk uphill also.
The best time to visit is in the summer, though sometimes spring and late summer are also. A sunny day makes the trip more enjoyable, as do the longer daylight hours in the summer.
