Fantastic idea! I just saw a commercial on UA-cam for another hockey product. I forget the name, but it seems to be a special sort of tape you put along the bottom of your sticks so that it won't splinter away. Can you do a review on that???
Pavel Barber, i believe the name of the product is something wrap around. It goes on the bottom of you stick and you tape it then your stick wont get wrecked
This was some great advice! I found some extra tips along the way. 1) If you're wondering where to put the metal tabs, put a strip of white tape on the bottom of the blade and practice with it on black asphalt. Wherever it wears out, that's where you should put the metal strips. 2) To save some money, if you have old license plates lying around, they work great and they bend easily.
It's the 2nd one. I gave the first one to a kid I coached after the exact same thing happened to it. I'm glad I didn't chuck this one out as I can now use it for road hockey :)
Yes it will, it's just basically there to hold the steel on anyways. Once the tape wears off the bottom the steel becomes the protective layer between the road and the blade. Once the steel wears through you can easily pull it off and do it all over again.
That's what I did originally except then the steel wore down and I had to pry the steel off with a screwdriver. The metal will last for a few hours worth of road hockey so that's why I just tape it on. Then you can easily replace the metal tabs when you need to. If the metal lasted forever I would glue it on
i used to hate watching and playing hockey but over that time my friend who plays hockey taught me how to play now that im 13 i love hockey and im soon going to buy puck board and a fly puck and make a homade sauce kit
Now hockey is my favorite sport p.s the main reason i used to hate hockey which i still cant do this is skate so i only play street hockey the point i was getting to is Coach Jeremy your a good UA-camr and your shooting videos and reinforcing blade videos are very useful thankyou.
I know it's the worst, after one session with the Green Biscuit I was reminded of how quickly the road eats away at the stick so I found a solution and figured I would share.
awesome. i was just thinking of a way to do this with a few cheap Reebok SHK Senior sticks i got off ebay. The Crosby curve blade isnt wood though its a hard plastic but doesnt really matter. i dont use my Bauer sticks on the road. just these cheap ones
Not complaining but you could use those black binder clips with the silver squeeze levers that open the clip. I am explaining because not many people know what a binder clip is. Great vid!
Hey ive been looking at your other videos and i was wondering if you do more street hockey videos and the ice hockey videos that you do do the same things apply to street hockey like the Mohawk and the dasukian deke do those work in street hockey
I know this sounds stupid but I was just wondering, in ur how to tape a stick blade video, you tape toe heel. Here u go heel toe. Is that just for the tabs or have u switched?
What causes the 300 buck stick to break like? that also how long do they last usually? Any way to keep an expensive stick last longer? I'm new to hockey thanks 🏒
So, what's cutting a friend's leg open going to matter any, when you can get a little, to a lot more use out of a damn good stick! It's a no brainer, the skin will grow back in time. Thumbs up all the way!
Nope, i got it for free. When they first came out they retailed for $279, tack on the 14% tax and that's over $300. I don't usually buy sticks over $100
I subed. do you have any sticks for sale. preferabled cheap. because i dont have any money for expensive stick and I have a game here soon! plz. reply!
heres something simpler just get a road/street hockey stick from somewhere like Sport Chek or Canadian Tire for Canadians. Or Dicks sporting goods for Americans. These street hockey sticks are durable and cost effective as most are under $20 at these locations.
I made this and it doesn’t really work on the road. But It does work on cardboard. The tape gets ripped up after 10 minutes of play on the road, and the metal flashing breaks after 20 minutes to a Half hour of pure play. And the tape become melded with the metal after a while and it make switch ping the flashing up difficult.i would rate this a 7/ 10. ( btw use duct tape instead of nice tape it is much more durable than regular hockey tape.
Can't you also wrap copper wire around it? I did this and the only tape that wears off is where the wire touches the ground. It's lasts longer and it stays on better.
I am A Big Hockey Fan Where I Am From And This Is MY First Time Watching Yo Video Next Time Can Yo Make a Video How Too Make Yo Own Hockey jerseys thanks 😊☺
+Alex Calderaro Depends on your price range, preferences, and the level of player you are. I personally use a Total One NXG, and recently bought the MX3 since my NXG is starting to crack in the heel. Also to note, the rinks I play at all have "sport courts' so theres no wearing out the bottom of the blades as you would on concrete or streets.
I tend to put a layer of tape at the bottom of my blade, tape the stick and then put another two layers at the bottom of my blade when playing some road hockey
Hey guys, there is something new out called blade armor, it's a thin little piece you slide onto your stick blade that solves this issue!! Why didn't I think of it haha
1q3er5 Just saw that and have been looking for reviews. Have you tried it or know someone who has? How is it? A legitimate version of the video idea is the Hockey Wrap Around, but that's a little more expensive
The hockey wraparound will protect your blade, but it also adds a lot of weight and is pretty expensive (around $25-$30). I use the Blade Saver (you can find it on Amazon), which is just like blade armor but cheaper.
Timothy Lastname I use fiberglass, or you can spend some money and use carbon fiber, which is what the blade is consisted of, with an abs plastic core. I have successfully repaired broken sticks with this method. I also make hockey sticks, ill have the video up this week.
People bitching about the Wrap Around. Yeah, same concept, but it's improved. Saying he should sue is like saying Ford should sue Hennessey for souping up their cars and selling them.
Fantastic idea!

Lol what a paid comment. Make that cash, Pavel.
@@tcry12 if it was paid wouldn’t he use the product name?
This was some great advice! I found some extra tips along the way.

Awesome gonna try that!y buddy and I practice shooting on the street since we couldn’t access to the rink anytime, only at pick up, practice or game
So simple, yet I never thought of it! Great video

U should get a percentage from the money hockey rap around makes
peanut4745 lol, wouldn't that be nice!
That's what I did originally except then the steel wore down and I had to pry the steel off with a screwdriver. The metal will last for a few hours worth of road hockey so that's why I just tape it on. Then you can easily replace the metal tabs when you need to. If the metal lasted forever I would glue it on
i love diy tips! i know you promote the hockeyshot shooting pads but they're kind of expensive so can you do a video on any cheaper alternatives?
It will work with a wooden stick as well. I've heard some people put screws in the bottom of wood blades, that would likely last longer.
Hockey wrap around stole your idea you should sue them
Yfgagya he should
Yfgagya i
Yfgagya of o
Love your videos keep them coming your great!
i used to hate watching and playing hockey but over that time my friend who plays hockey taught me how to play now that im 13 i love hockey and im soon going to buy puck board and a fly puck and make a homade sauce kit

Thanks jermey for the awesome video and this is really helpful def trying this!
Is this how the hockey rap around started
I think this is where they thought of a hockey wrap around lmao
Thank you for the advice! I'll probably buy another Reebok 2K stick, as they're reliable and cheap, and put screws in one for roadie. Thanks again! :)
I know it's the worst, after one session with the Green Biscuit I was reminded of how quickly the road eats away at the stick so I found a solution and figured I would share.

Hey I'm a beginner and I was wondering if you had any old stick that you don't use or care about. And if I could get one from you.
a good idea! must necessarily try it
Hey, I was wondering if there is another way to protect the bottom of your blade other than this way, since i play a lot of road hockey??
You could but a hockey wraparound
Lol Popsicle style
Have any hockey tips for toddlers my son five. First time for everything.
Thank you!!! I go through so many sticks!
I go heel to toe when I'm just throwing on a quick layer of tape.
Love it! I'm always chewing up my sticks on the street.
can u do a stickhandling video so I can see if there's a difference in the way it looks or feels
So, what's cutting a friend's leg open going to matter any, when you can get a little, to a lot more use out of a damn good stick! It's a no brainer, the skin will grow back in time. Thumbs up all the way!
Thanks for the tip! I hate grinding my sticks down on the street
can you do a review on the green biscuit snipe?
Question. Should I do this with my wooden ice hockey stick? It's a cheap RBK 2K stick from Canadian Tire anyway, but I'm curious because it's wood.
Nope, i got it for free. When they first came out they retailed for $279, tack on the 14% tax and that's over $300. I don't usually buy sticks over $100
I subed. do you have any sticks for sale. preferabled cheap. because i dont have any money for expensive stick and I have a game here soon! plz. reply!
Thanks bro!!
No Problem! =)

Hey Jeremy is that your original RS?

Couple miss spells boys but no big deal
Thank You!!!!!
whats the name off the cheap stick??
anton aronsson Vic xcaliber
The OG wrap around
Can't you also wrap copper wire around it? I did this and the only tape that wears off is where the wire touches the ground. It's lasts longer and it stays on better.
I am A Big Hockey Fan Where I Am From And This Is MY First Time Watching Yo Video
Next Time Can Yo Make a Video How Too Make Yo Own Hockey jerseys thanks 😊☺
i wouldnt suggest using your stick to practice on the road if it is your regular game stick, composite or wood.
I used can lids for mine. its brill.
do i need to tape a street hockey stick
WHERE HAS THIS VIDEO BEEN MY WHOLE 12 YEARS
Good idea, but in 10 minutes the tape goes to hell..
Yes, the tape comes off quickly, but on the edges it still holds the steel tabs in place
How To Hockey I did that and it was really amazing. Thanks a lot!!
Wow
Or you could just get a real (wooden) hockey stick with a fiberglass blade for $20.
Can you suggest one?
How do you make it so when your take a stride your skates dig in?
I need a good inline hockey stick, any tips?

The only thing is, when you stick handle the tape will ware out and the metal flaps will fall off. It's kinda like just taping multiple times

C-A-P-S
CAPS, CAPS, CAPS!!!!!!!!!!!!!
0:25 holy sh!t that is like... I don’t even know.

AWESOME
the tape makes the stick very slow on pavement or a driveway. anyway to fix this? is the solution as simple as just a glossier tape?
APBatman33 How To Hockey
Try not to drag your stick along the ground. Keep it about a centimeter above.
How long did the rs last before it broke?
What's the most durable tape my renfrew tape sucks it lasts one practice max
Try howies
Thanks
wont the tape constantly wear down. maybe not on the road but if u played in the court.
hardware stores or home depot/lowes
The hockey wraparound
cool
You are awesome
Does it affect ur shooting
Can u do slap shots with this
Plus you could glue the tabs on with Liquid Nails.
i tried using a coke can.... it broke after a few minutes
Are there any alternatives to scrap metal?
License plates work great.
Timothy Lastname I use fiberglass, or you can spend some money and use carbon fiber, which is what the blade is consisted of, with an abs plastic core. I have successfully repaired broken sticks with this method. I also make hockey sticks, ill have the video up this week.
Hockey wrap around made the same thing but better
So, the metal helps protect the blade of the stick, but I still find the tape wears off the bottom of the blade within minutes
Nick Andres Yes, but the rest of the tape holds the metal in place
You really should put the metal all along the blade it protects it more and it will last about 2 years
You should put the metal all along the blade it will protect it more and it will last longer
I'll stick with my apx 2 as my road hockey stick
yeah but if your like me you might have 6-7 hockey sticks you don't want your kids destroying.
Holy balls, this just made my life.
Can't you just file the sharp areas when they get sharp on the road?
Whats a material?
Metal flashing. Thats what it's called?
Cool
what kind is the $20 stick
Genius
Defeats the purpose when you put tape on it
not at all. sure the tape will rip at the bottom, but your blade will still be protected,
TheCoolwhipped
Pavement and tape don't like eachother
Son Goku the blade will still be protected
People bitching about the Wrap Around.
Yeah, same concept, but it's improved.
Saying he should sue is like saying Ford should sue Hennessey for souping up their cars and selling them.
Who else thought the piece of metal was really big at 0:30 until he picked it up with his hand?
thank you Jeremy! rap star stevie ray wants to play hockey.... at least one season...
I did that with my Reebok O Stick
or get a hockey wrap around
This guy is smart
It is a waste of tape every time the the metal wears of
you my friend are geneouse
i had the xcalibur but it snapped
In the same situation as you.
Your a beauty
