Great videos. CouldI ask you to make a video about the difference between: I MEANT TO ARRIVE AT 8 PM YESTERDAY vs I WAS MEANT TO ARRIVE AT 8 PM YESTERDAY?
Thank you, Peter! I'm not sure the difference will warrant a whole video, but I've made a note of your request. I'd say 'I meant to = I was planning to' (my own intention), whereas 'I was meant to = Someone had scheduled me in for that time (an appointment, a test, etc.)
My apologies Minoo! Cor blimey! Am I 4 hours late ? I 'll catch up nonetheless ! The way you speak and present things, I can see you easily becoming a tv presenter or news reader. Much obliged for the lesson, as well as your time. Please, do come back in no time !
this lesson is so helpful. phrasal verbs are more often than not tested in the cloze. Am I using the expression "more often than not " in a correct way?

If someone has just arrived . My aim is to know where he was earlier. Can i say, where are you coming from.
Yes, Anil, you can. That's grammatically correct.
A more natural question is: Where have you been?
@@AngloLinkEnglish thanks, mam
@@AngloLinkEnglish could you give the reason why continuous tense is used in this case, where are you coming from?. Action of coming is competed
Because they've just arrived, and you see them at the last moment of their arrival when you ask this question.
