The Madame Web from the 90’s animated series had a pretty cool saga as far as I remember, she guides Peter through a series of challenges until she finally introduces him to alternate reality versions of himself, and they all team up to stop a power-corrupted Spider Carnage. We’re at a point where a 90’s saturday morning cartoon tells a better story than a 2024 live action movie

Madame Web on the other hand immediately raised red flags just from the quality of the trailer alone. It's disappointing to hear that the studio probably made this just to hold onto IP instead of actually *caring* about telling a good story with said IP.
I watched Kaylasays’ video on this movie the other day and she went to see the film with her boyfriend (her boyfriend happens to be a big Spider-Man comic fan) and he said it best that Sony in the presentation of this movie has created this worked mythology around spiders to make this movie work when the point of the Spider-Man lore is that Peter was a regular teen who happened to be bitten by a radioactive spider. It’s something that could happen to anyone and it happened to Peter. It creates a redundancy in that spiders are magical creatures. I watched it. It was awful. Literally thought that it looks like it's made by complete amateurs, but with money to spend. Can't believe how they saw this final cut and decided "Yup, that fine. Let's go with it".
To this day, I still don't get the hate surrounding the Marvels. The only thing I could remember genuinely disliking in that movie was a dialogue between Fury and Danvers where Carol says something about negativity or some shit. Overall, I think it was a fun movie. Kamala and her family carried the movie!
Just want to say that Personally i hate these types of reviews/commentaries/talking about something because its trendy videos where the guy does nothing but repeatedly spew a bunch of negative over-3-vowel adjectives at me, you could even mix it up a little bit by specifically explaining and analyzing why a thing is bad to make me believe for the slightest that you care about the thing you’re talking about instead of pointing a finger at this each thing that everyone knows is bad with a hypothetical frown on your face. At the very least the video is only about 7 minutes long, which in my Opinion is still 6 minutes too long because it took me only one of those minutes to understand that ‘this thing is bad stupid, abysmal, horrible, worst, convoluted’ (which is the only point that is made) before i got bored. It’s embarrassing how many people make this kind of content that is equivalent to hearing a friend criticizing something they don’t care about after seeing one tweet saying that its bad. Thanks for fkn nothing dude
i don't like how they changed her, madame web was supposed to have spider powers with the ability to see the future and she was supposed to control the threads of fate for all the spider totems throughout the multiverse, in the comics she is not a hero but an ambiguous entity/person who helped spiderman in major ways during his biggest issues and she had her own dimension the webs of fate where she could see and read each spider Totem's fates
The thing is it could’ve been decent if they just adapted the Spiderwoman Volume 3 storyline. You have Cassandra in her mid 40’s, you change Charlotte Witter from being her granddaughter to her abandoned daughter, have Charlotte be the villain instead of Ezekiel going after spider powered women to become THE Spiderwoman and have Matty gain Charlottes spider legs at the climax of the movie via magic ritual rather than mid way. Far more interesting, closer to the source material and doesn’t infringe on Spider-Man at all. But I honestly don’t get why they went for this in the first place as there is no brand synergy right now, in the comics Cassandra and Matty are dead, Julia is the current Madam Web and Anya is well as forgettable as ever as it’s not like there’s a fan base looking for this movie nor will new fans get anything out of looking for these characters in comics other than reading older stories which will not relate to the characters they see on screen. It’s like someone said what if we have a movie where the villain is a dark Spider-Man and they said well e could use Ezekiel who really wasn’t a villain to being with.
I think your wrong the visual effects , especially the parts with her powers/vision were the best part of the whole movie , and the cinematography in terms of lightning was really good
its the audacity that really upsets me. The complete audacity of writing a shell of a movie with the intention of also making a sequel. Imagine thinking your so-so effort will get you a continuation, really? nobody stopped and thought, "wait a minute, we might not get a sequel, and this kinda stinks, lets try and make it the best we can, or better yet, lets take this money and do something actually constructive, instead of making a movie with characters that are mentioned in a few panels in a few comics and in a cartoon nobody outside of comicbook nerds knows about."
“There isn’t many action sequences so there aren’t much VFX” boy are you wrong about that. I haven’t seen the movie, but I can bet my ass there is at least half of the shots that have some. You just don’t see it, because it’s not in your face.
I got a feeling it's studio interference in the story and editing to make it " a safe bet" because most producers treat movies like a investment instead of art
I genuinely think Hollywood is using chatGPT to write the script from scratch to finish now. This movie is just one of the examples. Not even as experiment anymore, they are fully doing it now. Otherwise I cannot understand how they create this kind of empty content with that much money
PLEASE do a Devoid of Logic video for Madame Web!!!🙏🏻 I would love to see you just absolutely destroy this dumpster fire of a movie through memes GOT S8 style.😂👏🏻

It’s embarrassing how many people make this kind of content that is equivalent to hearing a friend criticizing something they don’t care about after seeing one tweet saying that its bad. Thanks for fkn nothing dude
They dont watch these types of reviews then. Simple.
You hate punctuation and proper grammar as well. Normally I wouldn’t care but your comment is a bit douchy…
I really hated that awkward close focused 180 pan around they kept doing on her
i don't like how they changed her, madame web was supposed to have spider powers with the ability to see the future and she was supposed to control the threads of fate for all the spider totems throughout the multiverse, in the comics she is not a hero but an ambiguous entity/person who helped spiderman in major ways during his biggest issues and she had her own dimension the webs of fate where she could see and read each spider Totem's fates
I don't disagree that this movie is bad, but hearing this reviewer accuse others of being bad writers is pretty wild.
This is NOT a superhero movie! The SpiderWomen with their powers is in less than 10 minutes of the movie!
PLEASE do a Devoid of Logic video for Madame Web!!!🙏🏻
I would love to see you just absolutely destroy this dumpster fire of a movie through memes GOT S8 style.😂👏🏻
Wait, Sony is _still_ trying to make a Spider-Man cinematic universe without Spider-Man? I thought they gave up after they got morbed.
I know why this movie was so bad. Dakota Johnson got paid $79.999,000 for her role. The other dollar was spent on VFX.
It's wild that Sony won't learn their lesson
You could really consider going to the EFAP Podcast to talk about this movie. I think youd be a perfect guest with a lot of insight
If they just put Dakota johnson in a skintight suit, then it could have at least made money back
supercuts did you hear about the upcoming series "shogun" ? it looks insanely promosing. a episode by episode review like tlou or hotd would be great
She gets hit with a firework and gets blind
The Creator has like an 80 million dollar budget and it's visuals are insanely good and high scaled
It’s Madam web time
so they weren’t even spider woman?? she just could see them becoming that??
5:41 I actually WENT to that school. 😂
Didn’t even bother checking in with the trailer which seemingly came out of nowhere not surprising tho 😂😅
Im glad i see ur vids and avoid atrocities like this
I am now officially feeling sorry for Dakota Johnson. One is fairly certain that all of this is of no surprise to her, for quite a while now. But there she was, trapped in that.... well.... Web, unable to do anything but slog through it and pray she can move on.
With the right project(s), she can possibly overcome. Her teen cohorts are probably goners, though.
Madame Web is an important part of Spider-Man: Shattered Dimensions, one of my favourite games. I assure you she's not garbage there.
